Review of The Luxe as of April 3, 2022. Moved in November 2020, so over a year now. I'm really happy here! I live in a renovated 2BR unit facing away from Homestead overlooking the back community area and it's quite nice. The unit itself is well appointed and modern feeling. Heating, A/C, W/D, dishwasher. Nice kitchen. Property is well kept and clean. The out-building by the pool is a little gym with some cardio and weight machines which is convenient. I've not seen the gym busy even post-pandemic. There's a first-come community grill and shaded picnic table always ready to go for a BBQ. Garage in the basement level is secure with a remote for tenant entry and elevator access to building. AFAIK, each unit gets one assigned garage spot. Dunno how rough add'l parking is, but visiting friends don't seem to have trouble finding a spot in the little back lot or on the street. There's currently an online site for rent and utility payment which is convenient. Maybe a few months after moving in we got a new building manager Annie. Have noticed, especially under Annie, anything that comes up gets quickly taken care of. I've had a few little things in my unit fixed within 24 hours (blocked faucet, a bad light switch). Even burned out light bulbs or broken door handles around the property are typically replaced within a week. That attention to detail is really awesome! Annie clearly takes pride in calling this place home. Only downside is I must admit, the walls are thin. The community generally keeps it down and respects the quiet hours so it's not bad. We do still hear each other's TV's/radios/company mumbling nonetheless. And units alternate layouts, so bedrooms face bedrooms and living rooms to living rooms, so sleep is generally quiet anyway. Overall it's a really nice, well-kept community and have enjoyed my time here so far! It's a cozy building with a lot going for it. read more

We are living here almost for one year and i can't describe how happy we are. Nice renovated building and landscape, very clean inside and outside. Enjoying gym that in the complex which saves me a lot of time. this serves as a review for the 1565 monroe apartments, which is owned by the Luxe apartments. my boyfriend & i live here & there's not much to complain about. Gabriela, our resident manager, has always been extremely friendly, attentive, & quick to respond. there were times when she was on vacation & left information for a direct contact which was nice. every apartment complex deserves this type of service & management responsibility. location - my goodness it is the best. target is less than a 3 minute drive which is also near a sprouts & restaurants. if you're not feeling target or sprouts, no worries because there's a safeway less than an 8 minute drive which also brings you near an ice cream shop & other food places. santa clara farmer's market is located 0.5 miles & is walk-able. levi's stadium is a 15 minute drive. the new santa clara square with a whole foods is an 8 min drive. this location is awesome! very safe for late night & early morning runs also. amenities - not many. you get what you pay for. this was one of the most affordable & nicest apartments we could find. there is a separate room for 2 washer & 2 dryers, an old fashioned heater that needs to be manually turned on with a lighter, & one free parking spot in the port. service - good. when we first moved in on 2016, our apartment was replaced with new carpets which unfortunately brought some issues, but Gabriela & her team were very attentive & solved the issue immediately. we were also able to negotiate a prorated price for the first month's rent because of the situation. there was a time where there was a good amount of condensation around our bedroom window. we never opened the window because our screen was damaged. Gabriela immediately sent a maintenance guy to replace the screen, however, we had to clean the condensation ourselves. safety - average. we experienced no theft. although the apartment complex is right next to a bus stop, we have never experienced any random strangers lurking the apartment complex. there was one evening where there was a homeless person sleeping next to our car in the port, but they were nice enough to leave when we asked. to be honest, we have friends that live in many parts of santa clara, mountain view, and san jose. homeless people will always be around. don't let that stop you from living anywhere. neighbors - friendly. a few of our neighbors were nice enough to keep our packages safe by keeping them until we returned home. i would recommend living in this complex! read more

Apartment building is very clean, serene and zen. I love the internal remodel and decorations, with a lot of lights and new stainless appliances. I appreciate the leasing manager Gabrella's help in helping with my multiple needs for the contract signing process, to facilitate my moving date, storage, leasing term, location and price. A group of us tried to work with management on this as they did sweeping rent increases but the management would not even acknowledge our concern. Now there has been a mass exodus from the place. There has also been issues with refunds of deposits due to manager changes at the site. Good: Nice, Modern, Clean, good grounds, good pool. Bad: Maintenance quick fix's, Rent fluctuation, unlocked side doors, garbage overflows, management yanking your chain on deposit refunds The Ugly: The new paint job in the lobby. Conclusion: 2 years ago the place was great and the manager caring and sweet (We still miss Amber). But there have been too many changes of hands too fast and the place is just worth the price any more. read more

I have lived in Luxe for 3+ years, and I still highly recommend this place. Especially after Sarah (the new manager) took over this place, things became much better. Sarah is professional, responsible and very responsive. She really cared about the tenants and always quickly responded to all kinds of issues I reported, and amazingly problems were always resolved within 1 day or 2. For example, I filed two maintenance orders online at late night this Monday, and when I got home in Tuesday evening, they were all done in a very professional way! read more

I lived in this apartment for over 1 year. It's a decent apartment to live in, but the management was a nightmare. Gabriela, the onsite property manager is THE WORST property manager I've ever met. I was not told that I need to pay for the onsite mail box before signing on my lease, which is ridiculous. She didn't always show up in the office (as the only onsite manager), was not responsive to office voice box nor emails, slow in arranging maintenance, and disrespectful during communication. They trim grass and blow dirt around 8:30am each week, making super loud noise, so don't bother living in there if you work late, sleep late. Also, they charge high amount for painting when moving out, even if they tell you "don't worry about it" during the pre-inspection. Noise isolation is very bad in this apartment, you can hear people speaking clearly from your upstair/downstair. read more

This is a very well managed apartment. Gabriella is awesome at her job. She is very responsive. It is not a 24/7 office but that is to be expected. The property is well kept. I plan to complain to the upper management (not Gabriella) about the poor recycling process. There are small containers in the back or the shed which totally discourages recycling. In reality people have way more recycling than they do garbage so one of the dumpsters should be for recycling! The walls a quite thin so if apartment noise bugs you keep that in mind. But otherwise well kept and decorated apartments especially true of the remodeled units. read more

Lived here about 2.5 years and enjoyed it! Secured facilities and well kept grounds. My unit was older but management was always prompt to provide a speedy service, even after hours. The only downside is the overall high rent prices in Santa Clara. read more

This review is not about the apartment itself. It is about the management. The management changed 2 months ago and they raised the rent for my 2 bedroom apartment from $1670 to $2200. They refused to discuss it. They also did the same thing with all the tenants who were on a month-to-month lease or their lease just ended. Many tenants already left. read more

I'm making my review fair and objective by just stating what I have seen and experienced and hoping this would be helpful for apt hunters. The facilities and apartments are fair. However, it's noisy if your apt faces Homestead, a major road in Santa Clara. Siren and ongoing traffic always wake you up from sleep. Not enough guest parking. You can only find one if you are lucky during weekend. Let's talk about the management. The management or even the property owner changed THREE times in two years. The whole management system went crazy. Notices of maintenance and changes were posted on tenants' doors endlessly. What is more, they increased the rent by $300-$500 recently by just posting one of those crappy notices on the doors. Tenants did NOT even get official mails or phone calls regarding such a big increase. They also avoided discussions and negotiations. Only recently the management has really stayed " on site" more just for trying to rent out more units to new tenants because so many old tenants already moved out. So if you're just looking for an apartment but NOT service, trust and respect, this place is ok to live in. I would NOT recommend renting this place. read more

We rented here because it was the best deal we could find for what we were looking for .. An open floor plan, w/d in the unit, a/c... And we were pretty ok with it because of the price. But it was obvious to us soon after we moved in that the remodeling done was done shoddily. The paint, the fixtures, the tub even were all of poor quality and quickly deteriorating. We had to move out quickly when we found severe mold in the bedroom of our one year old. It was on the wall shared with the bathroom and I was sure that the entire wall was moldy. The managers allowed us to break our lease but still demanded the last months rent even though we moved out in two weeks. read more

This apartment community is in a great and serene location and close to the major highways, and expressways, and everything that I need. The community manager, Gabriela, is AMAZING!!! She made my move in process very smooth. She is a very humble and genuine individual who made myself and my roommate feel very comfortable and right at home. Management is never available. 7 out of 10 times no one is in the office. The "We will be back" sign hanging in the front office door is never accurate. They usually will return later than what it says. Although they are nice! Staff dedicates their time to the new tenants and has no time for the old ones. The turn around here is ridiculous. The remodel is nice if your lucky. Your new luxury car will not look new after moving here and will probably be broken into before you move. read more

We too were impacted by the management change and the hike in rates, which is not worth staying. We were only there a year and they are charging us for the full replacement of the carpet. When we asked about the life of the carpet, normal wear/tear they said it doesn't matter because they have no history of what the previous management did,and therefore are charging us full replacement of carpet including padding. ridiculous. The Luxe Apartments are awesome! The environment is clean and peaceful. The pool and gym are well-kept. I am in a 2-bedroom unit and it is perfect for my daughter and I. The washer/dryer in the unit is so convenient and the interior and the appliances are all updated and modern. Garbiela is absolutely the best property manager I have ever had experience with. She is so friendly, helpful, personable, professional, and she responds so quickly to all inquiries. She thinks of things before the tenant even does, making sure they have what they need, before they knew they needed it! read more

I have been living at The Luxe in Santa Clara for a few years now, it has been through many different managers/owners this past year, and I must say as a long term tenate I absolutely love the new manager we have. Her name is Remy, she is very friendly, always greets me by name and takes time to help with any maintenance issues I may have. I hope the search for new manager/owner for these apartments are over. She seems to really care and be a great fit. The apartment complex is great and now having an understanding landlord is the icing on the cake. I would recommend moving here without a doubt read more

It's been a pleasure to live at the Luxe for over 3 years. The apartment unit itself was roomy and comfortable, enjoyed having a washer/dryer in the unit, all our neighbors were friendly, the location is great, and the neighborhood is as safe as it gets. Yeah, some parts of the apartment complex are a little old like the elevator, which is pretty slow, but for everything else it appears that the property company is trying to upgrade here and there. As for the property manager, Gabriela was awesome. Everything from maintenance issues to even an incident where someone else parked in my spot, she was always attentive and did her best to get things done ASAP. I was not by any means the perfect tenant as I have gotten a couple of noise complaints myself when I had friends over and was being loud way into the late hours, and I also clogged the whole plumbing system through our kitchen incinerator to the point where even our neighbors' plumbing were affected. However, she was never rude to me. She explained the cause of the problem, discussed the proper use of the incinerator, and had everything repaired. I felt really bad for all of that but as long as you respond appropriately, there is nothing more to worry about. She's very friendly and a pleasure to talk to, and she's resolved everything I contacted her for. Job satisfaction can sometimes be determined by who your manager is, and in the same way I believe my stay at the Luxe was as comfortable as it was because of her. read more

I used to live there , it's a nice place to live , not until they raised my rent I moved out in Sept ,I do not recommend it to no one first of all when I moved out I didnt get my full deposit back after I left them the place nice and clean ,The manager even signed me off saying everything was in good condition ,They just gave me the run around only got half of my deposit back , When I was living there I had rats on my belcony it took them along time to get rid of them ,I never said a word cuz I still loved living there , Candy read more

We had a horrible experience with Gabriela and with the Speiker corporation office. They don't know how to resolve the tenants problem in an amicable way. Gabriela doesn't know how to deal with customers. No customer service, she just cut off the phone while I was talking to her. That is very rude. Even you don't agree with the person you don't cut out the phone conversation. They took our money every month, but suddenly tell the tenant to move out with out proper notice. read more
