The staff are also very helpful in ensuring folks are staying safe while working out. The layout of the machines is very simple so you know exactly where what machine you want is and everyone I saw wiped their area down after each use. The men's locker room was very clean and didn't stink like I've experienced at other locations. Finally the VIP lounge for black card members was very therapeutic after a hard workout.

We researched a couple places online, Planet Fitness being one of them. We stopped in one evening (during what seemed like their busiest time), and one of the guys working instantly offered to show us around and help us sign up if we wanted. He was super helpful! We got the black card membership, which ends up being less than what we paid at the YMCA, and includes things at PF like tanning & massage chairs. We were always intimidated by the atmosphere at the Y so we never used much equipment. At PF we instantly felt comfortable enough to go try out the machines. They're nice, clean, and no one is judging you. The staff is always super friendly when we go there too. Only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that it would be nice to have things like a sauna. But overall, we are super happy with our gym switch.
