Miss Michelle has been known to be rude to the kids on numerous occasions throughout the year. Recently she commented on my daughters pink hair in front of the whole class telling her she had to change it for the recital (Just some ordinary recital). Mind you my daughter got her hair colored pink professionally, to support me, who was diagnosed with breast cancer and am currently going through chemo. First, this class isn't some "elite" class or dance team so why should my daughter have to change her hair regardless, second if she had a problem with her hair she could have acted like an adult and came to me with the issue or talked to my daughter outside of class. Honestly for the money, this place isn't worth going to. The classes aren't necessarily inexpensive, costumes for the recitals are ugly and expensive and Miss Michelle doesn't appear to know how to be professional.

My experience at Riverwest Yogashala was very negative. Everyone, no matter what your yoga background (unless you've studied Iyengar before) is required to take the 12 week intro class. I found myself mixed in with people with absolutely no experience, which I felt held back the progress of the group. Every single thing had to be explained in minute detail. Splitting the class to absolute beginner and people with experience in other yoga styles would have been much better. I also found the instructor and her assistant to be very self-absorbed. Before classes started I made a point of telling the instructor that I have some deformities of the foot. For a studio that says it prides itself on it's staffs knowledge of the body, I was horrified when the instructor looped a yoga strap around my big toe and MANUALLY tried to rotate it into "proper" alignment. It incident was both inappropriate and embarrassing, to say the least! The studio space itself is spacious, however in my opinion, very dirty. There always seemed to be a dust bunny hopping around the room or a hairball of someone else's hair drifting across the floor. Because it is on a main through fare and not air conditioned, in the summer the street noise from the open windows or the noise makes it impossible to hear the teacher. Students are also often required to gather around the instructor to watch her demonstrate the post, people were constantly standing on and walking across other people's mats which I found to be unsanitary to say the least. Sorry to say, I would not recommend this place.

Holding things like Community Gift rotating every other sunday. Its free or donation based for hour and a half Iyengar yoga class. This is a nonprofit yoga center. They also have Restorative yoga classes on rotating friday. I really like this class i place lots of physical demands on my body and i really enjoy restoring my mind and body back to a peaceful state. Its important and i think everyone needs to take an hour and a half out twice a month to put everything back in alignment. also this class is $5 again all about making the practice of yoga an affordable and awesome experience. You will find this studio is welcoming of everyone and all abilities. They will work with you to make sure its right and wont let you fall behind. I cant say enough about this place really. Its the least pretentious yoga studio i have yet to go to (we all know what i mean) plus with the cozy apartment like feel it is like all the things i love about river west in 1 room. Peaceful, happy, cohesive, art, etc. There is absolutely no excuse for yogi not to check this place out. :)

Learning ballroom dance from Neil has been a great experience. By the week before our wedding we had a lovely 4-minute routine and felt significantly more confident on the dance floor. Neil is a consummate professional, very knowledgeable, and obviously able to work with students of all ability levels. He is also very kind, and we had a lot of fun. I expect that we will continue with dance lessons in the future! I'd highly recommend dance lessons at Milwaukee Ballroom Dance for anyone who wants to learn how to dance for an event, or for life in general. Thank you, Neil!

Master Cruft took over as the main instructor and has done a brilliant job engaging the students and making it a true training session each class. Both my 11 and 17 year old sons are in his class and come home exhausted. The school is involved in local tournaments and encourage the students to do their best at competitions. Wether it's a child or yourself taking a course you will learn both discipline and the true art and skill of taekwando. Classes focus on strength building, cardio and technique. You will not find a better school in Ozaukee county.
