She was very professional and helpful and while children were playing in one area, she would clean and organize in another area. We stayed there for a few hours. My second visit was very different. When I walked in, there were three women there (one who was the owner, I could tell from photos I've seen of her online). She was there chatting with 2 friends while their children played. She also had her dog with her in the play area on the couch. It didn't feel professional to me and it felt like I was intruding in someone's living room. I wanted a latte and felt quite awkward to ask for one, like I was interrupting her hang out time, which is not how I felt during my first experience. Also- I know kids are kids but the children are obviously very familiar with the facility and they thought it was funny to turn the lights on and off in the back room where the playhouse is. I didn't stay as long during my second visit. I still think this cafe is nice to have in Shorewood and I will visit again, I just hope my next visit is more like my first one.

We took my two year old who recently started enjoying "Choo Choo's" (songs and toys). Wow, this is a local treasure. They don't have a lot of parking, so we came twenty minutes early to get a spot in their lot. You have to sign paperwork, pay a small fee for adults and children 3+, then, get in line for a train ride. The track is all 7.5"; they have two bridges that we rode both under and over. They have a few little towns with barbie cars, buildings, construction vehicles, etc. It is adorably decorated and so fun. Sure, the adults will have a stiff bum after riding for 15 minutes, but this is such a unique and fun experience for kids. It is fully outdoors, so dress for the weather. My toddler keeps asking to see the photos from the train ride. We can't wait to come back next year! Side note: they have port-a-potties and a small concession stand. This place operates on cash only.

It's kind of a minimalist zoo. Several different areas that contain some typical farm animals. They seem to be well fed and cared for. It's a great vintage bowling alley with a lot of character -- not a big flashy place, which honestly adds to the charm. They have 8 lanes and it worked really well for the event. We bowled for the fundraiser and they also used the large side room for a big raffle and gathering area, which was perfect for the group. It made it easy for everyone to hang out, socialize, and participate in the raffle between games. We didn't eat while we were there, but we did have drinks and the service was friendly and attentive even with a full crowd in the building. There's also a patio area that looked like a great place to sit when the weather is nice. Overall it was a really fun atmosphere and a great place to host a fundraiser or small tournament. Definitely a Cedarburg spot with some classic bowling alley charm.

We decided to check out a local alley for my kiddo's 9th birthday. We had an hour to bowl since…read moreleagues were coming in later, which was fine. He had three young kids with us and an hour was plenty. The guy at the counter quoted us $27 and said we pay after. 30 minutes in, the lane broke. It was fixed in a couple minutes. 45 minutes in, the motor on the ball return died. The staff member tried to fix it. Ten minutes later, he turns to the other family and offered to put them on a different lane (but they were full and lanes were about to be taken up by the league), but told them the motor died. We stood there never given any info while the guy went back to go bartend. My husband went up to pay since we figured that's that, even though no one wanted to talk to us. When my husband went to pay, the guy tried to charge him almost $40, which was more than quoted, and us not even finishing one game. After my husband disagreed with the price since we were there less than expected, had a broken game we couldn't even finish, we paid half. No apology (fully understand they can't control an electronic component, but some kind of sympathy is just being human and a good business person). I was more upset that we didn't get any kind of communication that our game was cut short and there was no solution. Unfortunately, we will not be back.
