I have given reviews before about norms I was just up there yesterday of course got my hamburger to make spaghetti I don't buy my burger from anywhere else, I got baby back ribs you all are crazy from buying from the regular grocery stores I bought a slab of baby back ribs for $10.23 that are fresh they're going to be amazing because I'm going to cook them today, I have never had a bad experience their customer service is outstanding he even took the membrane off the back of the ribs for me, the chicken tastes like he just chopped it up in the back room it is that fresh thank you guys again for the great meat Debbie. read more

Old School COOL celebration of 75 years, third generation running a classic Meat market. So happy to find a real authentic Meat Market , will visit again soon. I have just moved to Canton about 7 months ago and have always bought my meet at another meat market in Commerce. Living in Canton that can be a drive especially with all the construction. So, I decided to look for a meat market that was closer and we found Normans Market. We walked in and everyone was really polite and helpful no complaints there. My complaint is twofold. I ordered a meat packet that cost $149.99, and it was not about the money I will spend the money for the right thing. So, it being my first time I was not truly aware of what I was getting. But I went ahead and went to the front to pay for my order. Then I was waiting for my packaged meat and the person behind the meat counter stated Oh we will have it ready for you tomorrow. Ok that was strange to me but again it was my first time there and it must be the way they do things, so I left. The next day my son went to pick up my order as I had to work. When he walked in the door, I said oh let me go help you thinking there was more in the car, and he stated no this is it. I about fell over when I saw the little box he was carrying. I asked him what he meant as there had to be more than that for what I paid for, and he said no this is it. I was literally in shock. OK so I decided to move forward and package all my meat into meals like I always do with my meat packages. Here is the difference. When I was buying my meat in Commerce, I was ordering a package that cost me $125,00 and I was able to package about 72 meals from that packet. The packet I received from Normans Market only yielded 36 meals at $149.99. I just could not believe it. I loved the customer service I received from all the staff no complaints. But the price of the meat for what I received blew my mind. For that reason and that reason only, I will not be going back to Normans Market. read more

The best pace to get ham and Kabasa I drive 25 minutes just to go to Norman's . Never had any issues. This is a cute local store. Our entire family has been going here for years. Tons of Michigan products on the shelves as well everything thing from fudge to pickles items read more

My family has been going here for 20 years and the service has not changed. The counter and butcher staff are very helpful and offer special requests to accommodate your needs. The meats are very flavorful and the sides that they have are made fresh daily and burying with flavor. I've asked in the past for special orders and they always accommodate eagerly. I'm very impressed and would recommend this family owned business highly. read more

Brenda and I might be twins seperated at birth but thats a whole nother story. I am shocked we have never met as we go to very similar places. I like Norman's as it was a longtime fave of my late grandfather, who cut his teeth as a butcher. It is convenient to a lot of places I go so I can swing in and buy something quick. I can consistently get Kowalski dogs for grilling as my dad needs em. I like they carry Dearborn ham and sausage and James likes he can get a Blazos pie. I have to add they have great rolled and tied prime rib they cut to your taste and needs. Yum. You can also get capons and ducks fresh here as well as crown roasts. I agree the deli meats and cheeses are consistently happy and the salads are consistently meh at best. Service is friendly but it is not big for supplies. Nostalgic for me though. read more

Our favorite meat market just down the road was closed and we had heard about Norman's so thought we'd give it a try. We went after 5pm on a summer Saturday and it was pretty crowded. There were lots of friendly staff behind the counter and we were waited on quickly. I know lots of people love this market and they have many loyal customers and that's all good. However, we were a bit disappointed is how small the actual meat counter was. It's almost as though there were more salads offered. We did buy some burger patties, the meat loaf mix and some brats. Had the burgers last night and they were great. There were other perishables in various areas of the stores, plus lots of rubs and spices. The rest of this pretty small market had standard groceries. Because they are a small store, those groceries were priced rather high. We thought the parking was fine and had no trouble getting in or out or finding a spot. We found nothing special to purchase here and unless we're driving by in the future, most likely won't make a special trip. But it's good to know the Westland community supports and loves Norman's. read more

I can't believe that there are no reviews yet. Westlanders' love/hate relationship with Norman's goes back 50 years or so. I can understand both sides. Love-local market known for friendly service in the neighborhood. Meat is very fresh, as well as deli meats and cheeses. We buy our pre-made hambuger patties there, and are always happy with them. We pre-order an Amish turkey here for Thanksgiving and our Dearborn ham and sausage for Easter and Christmas. The prices on these items are close to Holiday Market and those type of stores. Hate-(hate is a strong word, I don't really hate anything about the place) the selection is limited. They have what they have. While they claim to make their own salads, they are just run of the mill. You could probably get the same stuff at Gordon's Foods. I saw them making the "homemade" coleslaw by tossing cabbage with bottled coleslaw dressing. It's nice to have a little place close by to run in for stuff, but the only thing I would buy here exclusively is the burgers and the Kowalski hot dogs. read more

The meat is fresh, reasonably priced, and the butchers are knowledgeable and helpful. Here's the thing: if you're looking for something other than meat, you're probably not going to be wowed. There's a limited selection of grocery / other goods - so don't think this place is like a magical door into the Westborn fruit market or something. It's a neighborhood butcher where you can get filets at 14.49 / lb, cut to your specifications, at high quality. That's what five stars are for - and well deserved in my opinion. read more

I've been going to this market for as long as I can remember. They have only the freshest meats and deli items. Even better than their top notch best meats in the area is the service from their employees. Never once have I shopped there that they haven't offered to help me to my car with my purchases. That kind of service sets them above all other meat markets in the area. read more
