It got so bad I was receiving 3-4 calls/emails almost every day- disrupting my work and my peace. IEP meetings were occurring but ultimately ineffective and nothing seemed to be improving. He was not getting an education and the school did not want him there or wanted to seclude him for disruptive behaviors. After Maria got involved, she came to me with a specific plan of what we needed to target for IEP changes. She was involved for several meetings and ultimately helped me get my son placed in a therapeutic school. Not an alternative school but an actual private therapy school and the school district paid. I am an Apheresis donor, meaning they don't take the traditional whole blood, only the component(s) they need the most, and returning the rest to me. Yesterday I made a triple - my donation of platelets was enough to help three separate recipients. Apparently, this was a first for me, as I have made double donations many times before. Apheresis involves being hooked up to a machine and having the blood cycled through, filtering out the component that they need most. In addition to platelets, I have given red blood cells in the past, sometimes double-red donations. I was told of a video that was shot a couple years ago here in Detroit by a local TV station - WDIV Channel 4. It walks you through the whole process from donor to recipient(s). A little over 12 minutes long, even if you have never donated blood, it should be interesting to see how the blood makes it's way from one arm to the next, saving lives that would otherwise be lost. No longer do you have to experience the life of British sailor on the high seas, swinging in a cot of nylon straps about a foot off the floor. Modern conveniences turn this blood donation into a luxury cruise. Really, you don't have to go anywhere and you get to watch traffic sail by on Woodward with a slightly lightheaded feeling. Friendly staff cater to your needs, bringing pillows and making sure you are comfortable. At the end you get to stop at the snack bar for cookies, juice and water, serenaded by soft rock and smiling seniors who volunteer and work here. Being stabbed in the arm by a long, pointy needle isn't that different from being on board the average ship, right? Like a good Princess Cruise or Carnival boat, you're expected to sprawl out and enjoy yourself in cozy reclining chair/beds. Do away with those horrible strappy contraptions at temporary donation sites, and hie yourself here for a great thirty minute stopover. Get in some reading, chat with the entertaining staff, or daydream. It's cheaper than popping down to a dock and you have far less chance of getting Norovirus. Cruise ships only wish they were this clean. The longest part of your visit will be post check-in when you run the gauntlet of reading materials and waiting on a doctor or nurse to check your hemoglobin in. Customs on a tiny island is usually worse though peak hours can be a bit of a drag. Unlike those ports of call, Berkley Blood Centre offers magazines for those who don't come armed with their own book or Kindle. Once you're through, though, the stay is a quick and efficient one. The staff have their procedures down and smoothly progress through setting you up and explaining the rules until you're pumping your fist in the air and looking forward to that prize cookie. The Blood Center sits at the corner of Catalpa and Woodward across from Trader Joe's and the easy parking. Ample parking can be found in the lot adjacent to the small complex, though expect crowds if the ever delicious Donut Cutter is open. Stop in before hand for a treat to get your blood sugar up in advance!

He was very patient, thorough, and with me side by side showing me the procedures from infants to pregnant mothers (CPR dummies). I scheduled and paid for my class online and took the course on site. Several props including how to use the AED. I missed one question out of 25 and received my CPR card the same day before leaving class. I really recommend that you give these folks the opportunity to help you obtain your BLS or other certifications. Everything is sanitized before and after each class with hand sanitizer on the practice tables. A very clean and inviting environment and well worth the $65.00. Swing by Starbucks or DD on your way as they are just down the street a 1/2 block or so.

I can tell that her confidence has grown along with her swimming skills from taking these classes. She started in the bright blue level and has already moved up to big blue. The staff gives you updates on their progress after every lesson in the mobile app. The facility has plenty of seating to watch your swimmer and is brightly lit. There are many changing rooms, (including changing rooms with infant changing tables in them) and plastic bags for wet items. Anyone can sign up for swim lessons, from babies to adults who need help learning!

He only did this class 3 times, then they suggest he move up already to the independent classes with no parent in the water with them. This made us nervous, as he just turned 3. He moved up, did ok at first, then had a hard time waiting his turn, and would splash around, etc. I asked if it was too soon to move him up classes, they said no. Well after only 3 classes, they banned him from the place for 3 months, and said we would have to start over in the parent/child class after the 3 month leave. The instructors have no patience, so if you have a young child who is not perfect 100% of the time, this place will kick you out. They do not work with you to make things better, or simply just move back a class. I would not recommend this place to anyone. To kick a 3 year old out and refuse to teach them to swim is horrible, for just acting like a newly 3 year old!!

Before I knew it, he was spending every Saturday there with Aiden and the Rollers! He went from never having picked up a bass, to putting on entire shows- with the music memorized by heart, and belting out Stairway to Heaven by Led Zeppelin! The entire staff at RRPS is incredible. They have a true passion for music, keeping this genre alive and thriving, and believing in every student who walks in their doors! My son has also done their summer camps for the past few years, and it is another incredible experience. I love, love, love everything about RRPS and everyone there! Highly recommend!

I was told by the owner he cannot use one of one and to " give it away." When I became upset the owner blamed me for my anger . When I suggested I would pay the rest on the second groupon ( to equal full amount ) I was told " you not going to tell me how to do business ."When I became upset , I was told me and my son are not welcome at her facility . I have taken my business elsewhere ,And will never be recommending this facility . I would much rather give my business to caring down to earth people than this woman .
