Fun Korean skincare, clothing, and accessories store in West Village. There's a ton of face masks to choose from with some nice deals ($10 for 10) as well as more expensive masks. The middle of the store had lots of clothes to sift through and very cute, affordable accessories (rings, earrings, hair clips). The clothing sizes are a little confusing because all the tags are in korean, but I assume a lot of them are "one size fits all" kind of clothes. Theres a small changing room where you can try stuff on. I love browsing and seeing new trinkets, so this was a really fun stop for me. I ended up buying a cute hair clip. Mask Bar has been around for quite some time now. I remember when I used to come here to stock up on face masks in high school before more K-beauty focused stores opened up in NYC. Still, they have very competitive prices and are always up to date with new stuff. I spotted a Haruharu facial oil and a certain viral Isntree sunscreen in their selection on my last visit. Hooray! I would say that The Mask Bar is my favorite Korean Skincare store in Manhattan. The space is not too big or overwhelming, and they carry a great selection. It is designed for efficiency and it seriously makes me feel like a kid in a candy store! They carry all the good stuff; Toni Moly, Dr Jart+ and Innisfree to name a few. Today I bought a fun one from V.T.R, for double chin, that you drape over the ears. Perfect for the times when I'm not in the mood for a conventional mask. The girls who work here are really sweet, knowledgable and not pushy. I get to enjoy browsing without being followed constantly; that's rather typical of Asian oriented service, they just won't leave you alone lol! The girls' self awareness is another reason why I had such a great experience here. Korean skincare heaven in the heart of Greenwich Village. The Mask Bar is seriously a hidden gem. It took us a couple of minutes to find it, but it was totally worth it. The Yelp map shows it west of Broadway, towards Mercer, but it's actually to the east towards Crosby. It's tiny, taking up some space in the front of the Necessary Clothing store. As soon as we walked in, the clerk greeted us with a friendly smile and let us know about the current promotions. She let us browse and never bothered us. She was actually extremely helpful in helping me pick out the products I needed- her skin was glowing so I was fully confident in her advice. They carry a ton of various skin care products for the tiny little space that they occupy. Most of the products come in irresistibly cute and adorable packaging (with awesome names such as 'pig nose clear'!). You've been warned. Regardless if you're new or not to the Korean skincare craze, would appreciate this shop. Their prices are actually really reasonable considering they are in Soho and you get a helpful in-person consultant helping you out. I couldn't pass on their sheet mask promotion at the time and picked up about half a year's worth of masks because it was such a great deal. I would definitely make a trip out to Soho just to pick up skincare here- between the friendly staff and the great prices, it's worth the trek. read more

What a great spot! On my recent trip to New York, I was in the Lower Manhattan area and I stumbled upon The Mask Bar. It's such a super cute store! If you didn't know where it was you could easily miss it, but trust me you want to go here! This store reminded me of all the cool skincare stores I saw when I was in Korea earlier this year. There's all kinds of super cute and super cool masks you could try. I got a few for oily skin. I got some anti aging ones. And some moisturizing ones. There were even masks that had animal faces on them. I got a few of those too. How fun is that?! And the prices of things here were pretty reasonable! There were tons of masks that were only $1 or you could get ten for $10. But face masks aren't all they carry. They even have nose strips, creams, exfoliators, toners, sunscreen, makeup, lip balms... and that's all I can remember lol. If I wasn't visiting, I would have bought a bunch more stuff. But I was too lazy to carry it all back. haha. Regardless, The Mask Bar was a great find for me! The person helping me was also super friendly and I never felt pressured to buy anything. I stopped by The Mask Bar because my face needed much more hydration and care from how cold and windy it's been in the city. I loved how the store was organized. They do carry more than masks, but I'd say sheet masks covered a good 60-70% of the store. When I asked about recommendations for moisturizing, I got some pretty good ones. Most of them I had tried like stuff from Dr Jart and Leader Clinical. I ended up getting some of the more least expensive ones from It's Skin and Nature Republic as they had a 6 for $10 special. I haven't tried the masks yet but I would definitely come back if I needed more masks in a pinch while on vacation. read more

Absolutely adorable and they have so many items here! I've been to many Korean cosmetic stores but there were hand creams and lipsticks that I've never seen before. This place is even tinier than the photos make it look, but they pack a lot of products into the store. I've been to Korea a lot, and they sell a lot of the popular products from Korea and at prices that are competitive or better than a bunch of the other online shops that import products and ship them to you. Jennifer helped me out when I was at the store, and she really is fantastic! She knows the products, what they're used for, and is happy to tell you which are the ones she uses. Her glowing skin is more than enough proof that she knows what she's talking about. She'll be happy to hook you up with the things you need and then some. It's easy to miss, but if you're walking south from the Muji (or if you pass Muji on your right side), the store is on the same side as that about a half block or so. If you're like me, you'll likely almost walk by or actually walk by it before realizing that that really is the store. But you'll quickly get excited once you see how many things they cram into the small space. read more

Very small, but cute bar and great for someone who enjoys masks whether it's sheet masks, peel off masks, or cream ones. It's a part of another (clothing) shop and just makes up the front part of the store. It's not its own establishment. They have a wide variety of different face masks, pore strips, and even foot masks. The pricing is reasonable and the store is very easy to find. I would definitely come again. I purchased a peel-off mask recommended by the store attendant. The mask literally peeled off a layer of my nose skin, leaving me looking as if I had suffered a major sunburn or been in an accident. Now 2.5 weeks after, I am trying to figure out how to get rid of a scar it left behind. The Mask Bar has not responded to my attempts to contact them for advice. Love this place. Really a hidden gem that I stumbled upon while I was on Canal Street. Got a nice package of Aloe Masks 10 for $10.00, did one last night and no only does my face feel awesome, it smells divine. Also got a scrub which I haven't tried yet. Great skin care products and also great advice on skin care.

Even though it's quite a small shop they have a lot of products (I found everything from sheat masks to parfume and concealer), and since everything is nicely laid out and very clean it doesn't feel stuffed. The staff is very helpful but still respectful and know when to keep distance. They let me browse the store by myself but were ready to help when I asked them. They always found the product that I needed and knew a lot more about my skin than I did (because I'm kinda bad at that lol). Whilst it isn't cheap it is very much worth it. There was a promotion of 10 masks for 10 dollars and of course I couldn't resist that. For what you get out of the products they aren't really expensive but when you first see the bill you are kind of shocked (or maybe just me because I didn't keep track of the prices ‍). read more

It IS really small but I was greeted immediately and the sales associate Jasmine spent tons of time with me and got me to leave with a bunch of stuff without being pushy!
