Stayed here over the weekend for two days for a birthday get away really enjoyed the vacation! The hotel was a cool concept with a food market/hall in the lobby. It was really nice not having to always plan where your next meal was! I liked too that the food hall still had a wait staff so you weren't waiting in long lines etc. The rooms are really large and comfortable beds! We even got the resort discount when we ordered room service. My only complaints the resort fee was a little high and dairy block taxes, it was nice getting free coffee in the morning though! I wish the happy hour had more offerings for the price, I've stayed at other hotels that had lower resort fee and more happy hour options. Overall really cool location in Denver- we barely had to take Ubers which was really nice to be able to do so much within walking distance without having to rent a car or find an Uber! read more

Maven Hotel is not for everyone, however if you want to be in the center of fun restaurants and bars, it's a good choice. There isn't a lot of shopping or other activities and the nearby restaurants don't have the best reviews. The hotel itself was comfortable- a solid happy hour with free drinks and the coffee at the cafe was free. I would have given this hotel two stars for the staff's lousy attitude except that the manager was extremely responsive to my feedback. On check in, the front desk agent was curt and just handed me a card with a QR code and told me to scan for info in the hotel and then gave me my room key. He didn't review valet- which btw, is $53/night. The hotel didn't do a very good job of prepping me for my stay, but it sounds like this is an issue that they are working to resolve. It's a fun hotel, and if you are staying downtown, it's a pretty decent location. If you want shopping, cherry creek is a much better pick. read more

We stayed at The Maven Hotel for 5 nights in May of 2022. Here are my thoughts: Location: 5 Stars The location of this hotel is excellent. We were in the center of everything, so we were able to walk to a lot of our destinations. Couldn't have asked for a better location. Cleanliness: 4.5 Stars The hotel lobby and common area were always kept clean. The room was also clean upon check-in. They can definitely improve with their housekeeping service though. Comfort: 3.75 Stars The room was large and had ample space; however, the bed was not that comfortable. The mattress, bedding, and pillows were far from the level of comfort you would expect for the price this hotel charges. This is the one area the hotel could use some improvement. Another complaint I have in this area is that we were able to hear street noise from around 7 in the morning, which was a bit annoying. Amenities: 4.5 Stars The room didn't have a mini fridge, which is a must in my opinion. Also no room service available, which is surprising given the cost of the rooms. However, when you go downstairs, the hotel has a lot to offer. Although not officially part of the hotel, on the lobby floor, you will find a Mexican restaurant, a coffee shop, clothing boutiques, bars, restaurants, etc. Very unique setup, but very fun and lively as well. The hotel also offers a courtesy SUV, which will take you a distance of up to 2 miles for free, which is exceptionally convenient. Staff: 5 Star The staff is very friendly and attentive. They helped with everything we needed. One of the bartenders at the bar, Poka Lola, was pretty rude and rubbed me a very bad way. Other than that, everyone else was great. read more

On the other hand, the location is super convenient and they have great perqs, including car service to nearby locations, a free happy hour and a really pretty hotel. Just stayed here for the weekend! Booked through capital one credit card portal, which gave us early check in, free upgrade, late checkout (all upon availability) and $50 food/beverage credit Our journeyman room got upgraded to the master (with the tub and balcony). The room was pretty nice: the desk was a long bar, the room had lots of outlets and it was fairly spacious. We appreciated this because we ended up spending a lot of time in our room due to the cold weather. There is a "destination amenity fee" of $25/night+tax. This included free coffee in the morning at the cafe downstairs, use of the courtesy car (free rides within 2 mile radius), free water bottles and a bunch of other discounts. The reception was pretty quick when we requested towels. We used the courtesy car a lot, which was useful since it was snowy/cold during our stay. -1 star for the pillows (mushy/shapeless), the tv position (on the side of the bed), and we had to request housekeeping multiple times before someone came. The milk market was pretty underwhelming, and while the lobby seemed busy, we didn't really see other hotel guests on our floor. Overall we got a good deal on the hotel, and felt it was worth it. One of the worst hotels I've ever stayed in. The room configuration is uncomfortable and awkward. The shower is in the middle of the room. There is nowhere to put clothes. Half the wall sockets are broken and the ones that work aren't near the bed for charging your phone. The mattress is old and drooping. Oh and it's loud. read more

I've traveled for work for 12 years. This is probably the best hotel I've ever stayed in. The decor is on point, there are happy hours downstairs. The Dairy Block is attached to the hotel and it's filled with interesting stores, coffee shops, and all kinds of food. The staff is incredibly friendly and always offering to give you bottles of water, which you will need in this dry climate. The lobby feels like a posh co-working space, and the hotel bar is snazzy with mint green upholstery and perfect lighting. Also, the bartender makes a killer old fashioned. I love the decor in the rooms as well. Equipped with tea, the good kind, and luxuriously large mugs. A kettle to boil water, which a lot of hotels do not provide. The showers have perfect water pressure. Endless towels. Prompt and excellent service if anything is missing. The gym is not attached to the building, you have to walk outside for it- but it's right next door and it's well-equipped. The staff was phenomenal in accommodating our entire team. They definitely went above and beyond. My colleagues all raved about the hotel. This will be a difficult one to top! read more

The Maven is located in a great part of downtown. It is walking distance to Union station and Coors field and connected to the Milk Market food hall. All of that was great. But because it was very expensive ( we stayed in one of the larger, pricier rooms) we just expected more attention to detail and a more accommodating staff. There were a lot of little issues : the TV did not work, the drains all were slow, the HVAC system was incredibly loud, the mini fridge kept everything lukewarm, there were t any hangers in the closet, and we didn't get housekeeping service even though we asked for it ( you have to request it). But it was the attitude of the staff that was the most off putting. When we went down to ask about some of these issues, we didn't get so much as an "I'm sorry " from the semi-catatonic guy at the front desk who could barely lift his eyes from his phone only to say "Well, did you ASK for housekeeping?". When we reminded him that we not only asked, but we had asked HIM, not even 24 hours earlier, he still did not apologize but just told us that it was too late to get housekeeping now. So, none of these things are earth shattering. We still had a lovely room in a great part of town. We just felt a little more care could have been taken to provide a great experience. read more

As someone who's worked in the hotel business for many years... I can honestly say that I have never been more disappointed with a location than I am with this one. 1) I had a small blister on my ankle after walking from union station to the hotel and it slightly bled overnight. Room Service came into the room... and THE ONLY thing that they did was make the bed. They DID NOT even change the sheets, they just did a "face lift" job.... "see no evil." It took us 3 visits to the front desk to o even have someone come and do their job and clean our room.... There is ZERO place to keep left over food; (most tourist go to local restaurants and take their left overs back with them).. and most food, cooked or not, should be kept at a certain temperature. No microwave, no refrigeration, no room service. They charge 450 a night, and there are ZERO benefits to choosing this hotel. I could not recommend this Hotel to my worst enemy. Great hotel with friendly front counter service. We got a Journeyman room and wow the beds were just amazing. I loved having that big of a bed because man my girlfriend thrashes around in her sleep haha. The stay was all around pretty great, we weren't in our room much but what was pretty disappointing is that the room service cleaning only came once out of our four day, three night stay...For the premium of what they charge per night and the general service of a hotel, daily room cleaning, bed making and towel replacement you'd think these would be included daily... if I were to do it again I'd look around for better hotels tbh read more

Love the staff here and this place has been my go to hotel in Denver. You can't go wrong with a lot of food and bar options all without having to go outside. The decor in the lobby is amazing and makes it feel like a massive living room. Warm and comforting furnishings all throughout the space. I love the free coffee in the morning from the coffee shop adjacent to the lobby lounge and the tokens for happy hour daily! The staff and check in process is seamless and all super friendly. My favorite part of the decor are the pictures in front of the elevator area as well is the full blown leather belt elevator. I love the smell every time I walk in. Location is only a short walk from union station so convenient when flying in and taking the train to downtown ($10.50). It's also very close to shops and restaurants nearby. Check out Pony up for the French dip or Jax seafood! Illegal Pete's for breakfast burritos! Highly recommend the hotel! As long as you don't mind paying for it, you are definitely going to get an amazing experience at this hotel! I stayed here for four nights for a conference towards the end of 2019 and had a wonderful time. The rooms are so spacious and SOOO QUIET! You will have no idea that there is someone else in the building. It is been a while since I have not slept this well. The staff is super friendly and I almost felt like I was staying in a smaller cozy inn, not sure how they manage to create such a wonderful atmosphere but have to give them shout out for that! I also love that there is a huge food hall on the first floor so you never have to even leave the hotel if you need something to eat or grab a delicious coffee! Let me tell you, they are so close to everything be it the train station, Coors Field, Laramer St, etc. And did I mention the Dairy Block? This chic hotel is a must stay if you are in the area. I thought I'd already left a review. Nope. I booked here because they are located close to the train station, and this we a brief trip where we were coming in by train. I was trying to look outside the box and go to a nice place more interesting than the corporate places. My thoughts are really mixed. Everyone was nice, the room was nice. It was a comfortable bed. However, the "boutique" hooks seemed odd. The hanging chair outside the elevator. ???. I suppose people want to sit and hang for a while before getting the elevator? The wall is banged up where it's had some wild swinging in it. In the rooms, the door to the bathroom was a long sliding door. Interesting, but I managed to bang my finger in it more than once because the handle would bump up to the wall and if I didn't remove my fingers quick enough -- bang. The "resort" fee kind of sucks since there's not much I want to take advantage of, and a lot's closed, because of COVID. Overall, a nice place in a perfect location, but I don't get some of the boutique stuff. read more

This is my new favorite hotel! If I am ever asked to design a hotel, I'm using this as my model. The room we stayed in was not only comfortable, but had touches that made me swoon! From barn door style doors to Japanese style bath tubs to cute pillows on the couch, everything was spot on. The staff at the front desk, especially Steven, seem like long lost friends happy to see you again. The lobby is eclectic and I love the choice of seating arrangements for the 4-7 Happy hour with drinks served from the Airstream. Every single detail from the decorated elevators, the swings in the elevator foyer on the 5th floor to the art found everywhere are simply fun and welcoming! The bed was so comfortable and we awoke ready to go explore the area, but be sure to venture into the Milk Market with the cutest shops and fun food choices. If you like complimentary strong drinks this is the place for you. Especially if you are traveling from an area and can't adjust the to altitude sickness, it will be a jackpot for you. If you taking advantage of the fact that anyone in the room can use the 2 token and brings drinks upstairs along with the hotel sending up free bottles of champagne. This is a great spot. You can get at least 6 STRONG margaritas for free to bring right up to your room when just whisper the word birthday to have alcohol offered on access. They will even send bottles when you don't ask for them especially celebrating already is incredibly intoxicated. Double bonus, the rooms are thick concrete have no cell reception so you can have shouting matches all night and no one will hear you scream. So it's perfect for angry drunks traveling on the cheap looking to funnel the hard stuff, take advantage of the high altitude making them drunker, and abuse the person they're traveling with. No one will hear you scream at the top of your lungs and the hotel most certainly won't intervene. read more

This place is awesome! Really enjoyed our brief one night stay in August. First of all, I love the convenience of parking underground in the attached Dairy Block garage, it's a pretty nice garage and you can get a great deal through Spot Hero. But now on to the hotel itself. The overall vibe here is boutique and hip without the attitude. I'd read previous reviews specifically noting the absence of attitude and that was one of the things that drew us here, as we love boutique hotels but sometimes there can be a bit of snootiness. NOT the case by any means at The Maven. The front desk staff were great, especially Eddie. At check-in, he made the experience smooth and very pleasant. He was accommodating and welcoming. He familiarized us with the hotel's amenities as well as the perks. He gave us a nice room (in our case, the Journeyman King). And any time I had a question after check-in, he was happy to answer it. The room was great. Next time we might splurge for one of the suites, but absolutely nothing wrong with the Journeyman King. Really liked this room. Reminded us a little bit of the 21c Oklahoma City in the layout and cool features, like the shelving right behind the bed's headboard and the cool sliding bathroom door and the flooring. All nice modern touches, very pleasant grey colors, just a nice decor. PLENTY of outlets, specifically including USB outlets. Loved the little bedside lights. They really basically thought of every detail here at the Maven, to make your room comfortable and convenient. Very comfortable bed. Got a great night's sleep. And for its locating right in Dairy Block, it was very quiet. No issues with noisy neighbors at all. Great use of space. Not the largest room in the world but very effective use of space in terms of the location of the closet, the shelving behind the headboard as I mentioned (you can put plenty of stuff on that shelf, including plugging in your mobile devices and leaving them up there with plenty of cord length to accommodate them and make use of the USB outlets), the cool comfy chair. Nice drapes if you need them to darken the room or just use the sheer one for privacy without blocking the light completely. But how about that BATHROOM?! Is it possible to be in love with a bathroom? Because I think I am, for the Maven's. Man, that shower is incredible. Large, with a little wooden bench and the soaps/shampoos conveniently placed there, and a great shower head with great pressure. And those TOWELS. They didn't skimp! They are large and fluffy and absorbent. You feel like a king/queen with those towels. And I even think there were two sinks, that was awesome. Plenty of space for your personal items. Just really enjoyable to shower and freshen up in that bathroom. And it's a great location. Not just because it's attached to the Dairy Block, which had several establishments we really enjoyed (I got a totally legit bagel at the coffee place and the coffee and staff there were great, too; and Kachina Cantina was very good as well), but its general proximity to downtown and LoDo and Union Station. You can walk to a lot of places. On top of all that, I found it very reasonably priced. We've stayed in lots of boutique hotels and paid a lot more where a lot less has been delivered than what the Maven delivers, which is an incredibly pleasant hotel experience. I've seen some reviewers complain about the resort fee or amenity fee or whatever they call it, but I think it comes pretty close to paying for itself, I like that you actually get something for it - the complimentary drink at Kachina and the Social Club bar (if I got the name right) and some other perks like the bottled water that come with it. I didn't mind. This is the way we like to travel. The Maven was a great choice in Denver and we would definitely return in a heartbeat. I'd even call it a destination hotel. read more

The Maven is a beautiful, centrally located hotel with an incredibly helpful and attentive staff. There is plenty to see and do all around the hotel, you can easily fill your weekend with the many restaurants, shops, and bars nearby and in the hotel itself. The rooms are clean and spacious with balcony options available. My reason for 4 instead of 5 stars is the Destination Amenity Fee. I did not book my room through their website so was unaware of this fee - when presented with our drink tokens, parking pass and told of the many other amenities offered by the hotel I was unaware of the daily $20 charge for those and the additional $25/day parking fee. My issue is not with the fees themselves but the lack of communication regarding them - check-in would be the ideal time to review/discuss them versus assuming we already know (again, especially if you do not book through the hotel directly). Overall, this is a lovely hotel and a great location for visiting downtown Denver. read more

We came back in January to stay at the Maven because we enjoyed our stay last year so much. Love the adjacent Milk Market that is now open. The smaller rooms are cute but a bit awkward. The first time we stayed at one of the smaller rooms. This time we stayed at a larger room with a freestanding tub. The finishes are beautiful. The entire staff is amazing from the valet to the reception. I love the area where the hotel is located, it's walking distance to Union Station, Coors Field, and the hotel has a great lobby in case you don't feel like walking, there is plenty to do downstairs. Not very clean. Housekeeping doesn't understand (or chooses not to understand) what you ask of them and even when you put the do not disturb sign on, they come in when you're gone. Do to what? That's unknown. The Maven gives you a "chip" for a cocktail ($25.00 added fee to your room, not optional, resort fee). This cocktail is not good in the bar and if you get something from the "trailer" you can't drink it in the bar! Rude waitress in the unaffiliated bar, Poka Lola. read more

We had a great time in Denver and our stay at the Maven Hotel, while not without its hiccups, ended up being really great. Our room was clean, bathrooms were nice/clean (the showerhead is freaking awesome), and the bed was comfortable. The hotel has really cool decor throughout and in the lobby, you have the Dairy block, Milk Market, Poko Lola social club, Kachina Cantina, and more! They give you 2 tokens for Happy Hour drinks from the Kachina Cantina airstream (strong margaritas) and will give you more the next day! All the front desk people were friendly and helpful. Definitely check out the Dairy Block, Milk Market, and Kachina Cantina (Fry bread taco with carne asada is amazing!) Also, the Lemon Za'atar Avocado toast from Huckleberry is SO good! read more

I stayed here over the course of Thanksgiving weekend. I originally booked directly through the Maven website but found a cheaper rate elsewhere. I called the hotel two days prior to check in and Merryweather allowed me to cancel and rebook my stay. The Maven is located inside of Dairy Block which is kind of like an indoor mini mall with a very expansive food court. Unfortunately I didn't have much time to try any of the bars and restaurants here during my stay but the hotel does provide you with a couple tokens to be used during happy hour at the hotel bar. Front desk check in was AWESOME!! Some of the friendliest hotel staff I have encountered. I stayed in the Innovator room which was of good size. It wasn't the most impressive or largest room I've stayed in (even by Denver standards) but it wasn't the worst. Things I liked: Well furnished Modern decor Art on the walls Clean Decent closet space Mattress was comfortable Good selection of teas The shower was "sexy". I don't know how else to describe it. Two balconies Great location Great staff Housekeeping replaced amenities daily Three things I didn't like: The bedframe. It almost hurt to climb out of bed because the sides of the bedframe would dig into the back of my legs. The shower didn't have a door to close. It just felt odd and a little drafty. Toilet paper stand was kind of wobbly and just annoying. The chair in the bathroom wasn't well thought out. You have to sit far from the mirror because the seat of the chair is level with the counter and I couldn't see myself (without my glasses) well enough to do my makeup in here. I may stay here again but either upgrade the room even further or just deal with a lower tier room because the upgrade didn't offer enough. read more

The Maven Hotel is absolutely excellent! If you're in Denver this is a modern/hip and well thought out hotel concept. So many details create an inviting environment to relax, work or play. I only stayed one night but when I come back to Denver I doubt I'd stay anywhere else. When you check in to the Maven, you're greeted by an eclectic vibe and that sparks your curiosity and makes you feel relaxed. The front lobby desk welcomed me a happy hour token for a free drink at the bar. The functionality and thoughtfulness given to the lobby which almost acts like a lounge & hip work space business center as well as the food hall is very impressive and inviting. We made a reservation to be close to the Rockies game for a short Stay Cation. We splurged on a $750 room and called ahead to make sure we could get an early check in we called at 6 am and was told to try later. We checked at 2pm with no luck. We waited until 4:15 checking time is 4 pm and was told And said it would be another hour or two. we told them we would be late to the game. We got in our room at 5 pm i spoke with a manager the next day after waiting on hold forever. We were told they had a staffing issue With getting i to the room late we missed being able to shower and enjoy dinner before racing to the game. We spent a total of 7 hours in our room sleeping for $750 Not a good value and terrible customer service. Next time we stay at the ritZ! read more

My sister and I spent a night at the Maven after canvassing this past Saturday. My sister made the reservation from her home in California She was led to believe from the catalog that this was a much more spacious and grand hotel than it is For The price of $450 this was a very ordinary room with a view of some buildings . I was struck that the young women at the service desk were taciturn I observed two of them and they didn't seem very willing to go out of their way either for us or for another young lady who was checking out. I am a Denver native and love that our city vibe is growing. The best thing about this hotel was the "vibe" - very contemporary in the heart of Downtown Denver. The service was "OK" - at valet, check in, check out, and so forth. Nothing rude, but nothing noteworthy. The room and bath were "OK". The bed was comfy, but the amenities were average, the balcony was wide open to neighbors (ZERO PRIVACY), and the mountain view was more of a city block with a hint of the mountains . These rooms are very pricey, and for $500/night, I feel the service, rooms, ambiance, and food, should be raising the bar. The rate is playing in the same arena as the Four Seasons or Ritz Carlton and we left disappointed. Not ungrateful, just would've expected more. Lastly, the Valet parking was $45! Nothing was validated as a guest and this is almost double to what you'd pay downtown or at a mountain resort. I did a staycation here and at the ramble. I prefer the rooms at the ramble, but the location of the maven is the best! The dairy block is by far my favorite food market in Denver and the shops across are great to walk around. The rooms are well furnished and if you can get a room with the round bath. Great location for anyone coming to denver! read more

This place is RAD! It's within the Dairy Block with tons of places to eat, shops to explore and spots to collaborate. The service was friendly and left a smile on my face. The hotel itself is full of inspiration (I'm in apartment marketing) from leather belt wrapped elevators that have a welcoming leather smell, local art and history pieces and the room themselves having awesome robes and gifts a so for purchase. The front desk also gives you two wood tokens for a free coffee and a drink at happy hour. The list of perks is way too long to list...so let's just say you get discounts everywhere lol I'll be coming back for sure ! read more

Hotel was very conveniently located; room was clean and nice. Hotel had interesting modern feel - which was nice except for not having a normal seat. Additionally, the pillows were horrible. Other than that it was a decent stay. read more
