We've just stayed at 3 hotels in Colorado and we regret this one the most. Why? I'd like to preface this with: I'm not one to complain about pricing or added costs unless it's NOT WORTH IT. But for a 4-star hotel that's priced at a 5-star hotel (with NO SPA OR TUBS), we expected something. There are NO perks to this hotel except welcome drinks that you pay for in "destination fee." Yes valet is $65 so we opted into self/street parking based on what other Yelpers were saying (our car rental was over $1k for 5 days - we truly didn't want to overpay at this point). Although we weren't valeting, the kind gentlemen still helped us with our bags in the snowy weather. We had the corner king on 11th floor. There were no higher upgrades except for the penthouse (according to what I had booked + front desk). We had splurged a bit more on Thompson Denver for our mini-moon getaway, but the price simply isn't worth it in comparison to the other hotels around. You're paying for the name. I attached photos. In terms of walkability, it was good. But Colorados DT transportation is super easy, you can hop on/off their bus. You do not need to stay here for the convenience. Again, plenty of other places that are much more spacious, accommodating, and at a lower price point if you're looking for somewhere nice. The armoire was obnoxiously squeaky every time my husband and I used it to grab our coats. You truly can hear everything. We heard our neighbors "doing" a lot of things to say the least (luckily we had our sound machine)The sink was badly clogged. Our housekeeping didn't refill any amenities (cotton swabs, etc). I will say, Chris and Arnold were such incredible front desk hosts. We felt extremely welcomed and informed by them. Thompson Denver did have recommendations to shop at other local stores, which we were able to utilize. I did appreciate how Thompson Denver had their weekly calendar of things to do per day. It was a nice touch. We checked out Chez Maggy, again, wasn't impressed. I think the rooftop was closed too? We didn't have to much time to check it out.

Solid hip hotel with great globalist treatment, breakfast at chez maggy is solid. Don't skimp out on the butter - or the chilaquiles for that fact. Definitely the most upscale and modern Hyatt property in Denver. Location is central .

The Thompson Denver is a three year old property with a contemporary decor and amazing staff. The location is stellar as well. We asked for an early check-in and the staff happily accommodated us. Our room on the tenth floor featured an awesome view of the mountains. Although the room was somewhat small, it featured a super comfy king bed and lots of extras. Be it a neat rolling tray of snacks for purchase and even a steamer in the closest. The bathroom even includes a skin care offering and a box of temptation aids for purchase. We dined at the Chez Maggy restaurant for lunch and breakfast and the food was superb. Look for a separate Yelp review. I'd highly recommend checking out the Reynard Social lounge on the sixth floor. We had an event in the library and the food and cocktails were a home run. My only regret was staying only one night. Can't wait to return!

I only stayed for one evening as a birthday celebration and night out for my partner, but the experience was so great. Everyone was incredibly helpful, valet was a breeze, and the rooms are so chic. The hotel bar upstairs is cute and moody with very interesting cocktail options. This was the perfect getaway for a staycation and I would love to come back any time.

I had a wonderful stay at the Thompson in downtown Denver! There is active construction at the corner of the hotel on 16th Street, so be mindful of it. Some amenities that I loved for globalists only was the complimentary breakfast at Chez Maggy up to $40 per person. Every night, they had these little meringue cookies that were freshly baked at the front desk. Valet parking was very easy, I texted 15 minutes ahead to a phone number and it would notify me when it was ready. I got upgraded to a corner king room. The room was so curated and beautiful. The lighting fixtures created a relaxing ambiance in the room and the bathroom toiletries smelled amazing! I always request for feather pillows and they were so comfortable to lay on. As for the gym, this hotel doesn't have one in house, but they provide a day pass for a gym access to a nearby facility. It took me 3 minutes to walk over to Colorado Athletic Club and it had everything that I needed! The location was also prime to walk anywhere in downtown! I could see union station from my room and I walked to Lorimer street to dine nearby.

    the amazing shower. amazing.

Ive stayed in plenty of hotels in my years, but the Thompson is easily my favorite. From the decor, the great gym, the insanely kind staff, and the AMAZING showers. It was an all around wonderful experience. The 6th floor lounge is just stunning, the bartenders / staff were so sweet & attentive. My ONLY complaint is that there is not a ton of storage for your clothes- just a small armoire. I made it work for a 4 day trip, but if you have ski clothes, or more than 1 person... it'd be tight. I already want to come back & I haven't even left yet. If you're coming to Denver, Id highly suggest the Thompson. It's a maybe 10 min walk from Union Station, which has a train straight to the airport- $10 per ride. You cant beat it. Go. Stay. Shower, you wont regret it.

Very posh design. Architecturally, it's outstanding. However, accommodations are concerning. 1. The walls are very thin. I would recommend asking for ear plugs, even if you're not close to the club because you will hear people going in and out or the doors slamming 2. I had a negative experience with housekeeping taking away my earplugs even though they were around my personal items. Had to get them replaced. And they also left a mountain of towels/forgot to take out the trash. I feel that for the price, I'm not sure it's worth it. I have stayed at better 4 star hotels without these issues. Views were alright, but nothing to brag about. And I paid extra for the views Lastly, I would like to offer a recommendation. Do not use Valet service. There's plenty of self-parking options for much cheaper! Avoid the $65 charge

We love having events at the sleek, modern hotel inLoDo! The Thompson provides a top quality venue for or group of 130. Their 2 rooms in the basement are comfortable and fun separated by a lounge area. We had both rooms and the lounge area too. The food from their kitchen is excellent. We had great comments from our attendees. We haven't stayed in the rooms but have toured several and thy are all well appointed. Highly recommend for events for less than 150 people - which has worked great for us!!

I stayed here for a night on the town as it was part of the Amex hotels that get a few perks. We had such a blast - great rooms, comfy beds, roomy bathroom, and a beautiful lobby. It was so close to union station, so we took the train in and walked over - easy breezy! You could walk to just about anywhere you needed. Not to mention being dog friendly, and very accommodating with bowls we needed for her. We ate dinner on the rooftop restaurant and had a fantastic server. Order the pull apart burger and bread pudding - licked the plates clean! We'd be back in a heartbeat! If you have an Amex, definitely worth booking through the portal as there were some fun extra perks - free breakfast, a welcome gift, and complimentary champagne on arrival.

At check in, Ashley was helping us and she was fantastic! We were in town for my friends birthday and were able to get a better room with a view for her birthday! All thanks to Ashley. She was very thorough with explaining everything that the hotel had to offer including gym and coffee perks! She offered us a complimentary glass of Prosecco as well and of course we accepted. My friend and I both agreed that this was one of the top 3 best check in experiences we have ever had and we travel A LOT. Thanks again for the warm hospitality Ashley!

The Denver Thompson is an elegant hotel. It is a new hotel and has a rich design. I chose the Thompson for its location which is just a few blocks from Denver's Union station and Laramie Square essentially where DT Denver is vibrant. My room was very clean and the bed comfortable. There is a mini coffee shop and a restaurant with a bar in the hotel. Staff were very welcoming and attentive. My one suggestion is for the hotel to include a ergonomic chair for all of us digital workers. Thompson (Hyatt) was a very pleasant stay.

The location really can't be beat. You're right in the heart of LoDo. Coors Field is a few blocks from the hotel and Union Station (which connects directly to Denver Airport) is only about a 5 minute walk away. Tons of restaurants, bars, and things to do are all within walking distance, which makes it extremely convenient. When booking, I asked for a high floor, quiet room so I could work. Upon check-in, they honored that request and also upgraded my room from a Journeyman to an Innovator Suite which I greatly appreciated. That upgrade definitely elevated the stay! The Innovator Suite was fantastic. It had two queen beds, two TVs, a full sofa, wet bar, dining table, flexible workspace, and city views overlooking Denver's LoDo District. The bathroom had a large soaking tub, which I had to take advantage off. There's no balcony and while the wet bar includes a small fridge, it's not really functional for anything beyond drinks as there's no space for leftovers or larger items. You also get a token per night to redeem for a free drink at the bar during happy hour, plus free drip coffee in the mornings. Other perks include free churros during social hour, a courtesy car service within a 2 mile radius, and discounts at various shops. There's also a fitness center, although I didn't use it. There were some things missing though: no pool, no spa, housekeeping is by request only, and no breakfast included. Service throughout was excellent. There's 24 hour front desk service and everyone I interacted with was cheerful, helpful, and kind. Overall, a strong stay with great service, a fantastic room upgrade, and an excellent location, even if a few expected amenities were missing for the price. If I had to come back to Denver and the company was covering the bill, I would stay again. The location really can't be beat. If I were coming for a leisure trip with a similar budget, I'd probably look for a hotel with a pool and spa instead. This hotel is best suited for people who want to experience LoDo nightlife, catch a game, or just be right in the middle of everything downtown. The room I was upgraded to was probably much more expensive than what I actually paid, which definitely improved the experience. I'm not sure I would feel the same way if I had stayed in the original room I booked. 4.5 stars rounded down.

Thank goodness my child knew that it was lucky charms and indeed gluten. The internet was spotty, I was working from the premises the entire time and often had to use my own hotspot. The washing machine for guest use requires quarters, which you have to buy from the front desk with cash. Two times the washer broke during use and I had to bag soaking wet clothes to hand over to maintenance to take to be washed. There is only one washer and dryer. Very disappointing for a long length of stay. Also in the age of technology there are several hotels that laundry is managed with an app, allowing me to pay via app and see how much long is left and if the machines are available. There is a lack of trash receptacles in the hotel. There are none on each floor by the elevator. Myself as well as others on our floor would leave a bag of trash outside of our room daily as we don't want our room to smell like the food we ate all day/night. On our first full day here we took it down to look for a trash can and the one outside the front doors where people unload their vehicle was overflowing, we noted this multiple days of our stay. Housekeeping were friendly in the halls, they service rooms once every 3 days. Since I was working in the room and I kept the room clean we used the sign on the door to opt to have them come when we were ready. If I saw them in the halls it was easy to get trash bags, towels and cups. One day we requested service and sat in the lobby working all day and they never came by. Keep in mind it's a refresh, our bed was already made and we keep our room clean, I just wanted a tidy of the bathroom counter, towels etc. I had to reach out to the front desk to ask around 415 for service but it needed to be quick because we were coming back to the room. They were able to oblige and serviced it quickly. The refrigerators are very small and not cold, perhaps an option in some rooms for people with lengthier stays to have a larger refrigerator and freezer options. We couldn't purchase any frozen items for our lengthy stay with only a small fridge. The location is nice, easy to get to anywhere on campus or to the downtown area, performing arts area etc. several Ubers are often in the area for further driving needs. Over all of we came to Denver for a long stay I might consider staying here but would look at options with better amenities for food and wash. For a short stay it would meet my needs.

Overall, a stylish, comfortable, and thoughtful stay. Would absolutely return.

The ballroom we were in was well lit but not too bright that it hurt your eyes. The table was nicely laid and even with the salad and dessert on it, there was enough space. The servers were polite and helpful. I appreciated that they brought me tea while serving coffee. The option was appreciated since usually I don't get an after dinner beverage if it's not coffee. The food served was delicious. The salad a nice mix of textures and tastes. The short rib tender and flavorful. And the dessert was light without the icing on top. The audio visual system worked well and we could hear the speakers clearly. Many attendees found parking in structures or lots around the hotel. But there is a valet option and charging stations for electric vehicles. I believe you can self park but I'm not sure. I parked in a nearby garage. The women's restroom has a little alcove area with a baby changing table and seating. Clean and well stocked, it was fabulous. A lot of my opinions about a location is based on their restrooms and this one impressed me. I would like to come again to experience more of the hotel.

The services were available but were not actively proffered. On the other hand, their spa was utterly fantastic! The hotel food was lackluster and focused on steak over anything else. They had other types of food, obviously, but steak was in plentiful abundance over anything. The housekeeping staff was amazing and on top of their game. The room quality was very good and spacious; larger than most hotels' suites. The in-room bar and mini-fridge were not free despite being labeled an "honor bar." I'm not cheap; I have no issue paying. My issue is the deceptive marketing of the so-called honor bar. The room's furniture was not cheap, but it did appear tacky with the illusion of being of quality. On the positive side, the staff were polite and attentive, and the room was cleaned while I was out. The view was also very impressive. Overall, with all things considered, I'd pick a different hotel; there are better hotels in the immediate area with a lower price tag and the spa is not worth it, despite its attentive and fantastic service.
