Hot and fast service. The oxtails were good they could have been a little more tender, fall off the bone but they were still good. The gravy has a good Caribbean flavor to it.

Had Mayne Dish today....have reviewed their food before and generally liked it....today this is $27 dollars of undercooked oxtail...super fatty that wasn't cooked long enough to render and the meat itself had the considtency of well done steak...I also got goat which also wasn't tender or juicy but at least had flavor....asked and ordered extra gravy AND paid for and had a line line of gravy that looked like they used a big spoon and scooped a spoonful threw it on the rice and called it a day....very sloppy and lazy 2.3 out of 10 and 1000% waste of money

You know that feeling when you get to the end of what you're eating and you're sad that it's finished? The aroma and the flavors have all hit the perfect spot and you wish that all of the food you eat could be this good, all the time-that's the way you feel after you eat here. It's so good! Show them some love if you're in the neighborhood. You'll be glad you did!

We had very high expectations based on other reviews and agreed that the food was good. It wasn't the best we've had, but it definitely was good. The portions are great for the price, and the coco bread was so fresh and delicious. There aren't many places to sit and eat, so it's more of a take out spot, but you do have the option if you want to eat there.

    Rasta Pasta

I used to order the Rasta Pasta from the food truck/stand on Rt.13 in New Castle; it was delicious! I traveled to the store on Kirkwood Hwy, since the stand has closed for the winter. The pasta tasted nothing like the truck - it was bland and lacked jerk seasoning or flavor. On top of that, I ordered ahead, and it was not ready for another 30 minutes after the designated pickup time. I was told that they had to send someone to the store to get the pasta!! So disappointing.

I was actually impressed! I didn't think Delaware had good Jamaican food. I ordered the beef pattie and oxtail with a rice & peas, cabbage and plantain. Everything tasted really good. The oxtail could have been a little more tender but good overall.

    Grilled jerk, chicken wings

The food at this food truck is so delicious. The wings are grilled to perfection. I highly recommend this location.

This used to be a good restaurant that an older lady ran. She was kind and made great food. Since it changed hands, maybe 3 years now, it has been vastly upgraded. For instance, I now want to sit down and eat with my family. The owners have changed the decor to make it more contemporary and inviting. Other good changes include steadier hours and quicker service. I might have to visit this place more often to try out more of the menu. Speaking in the menu, my entree selection was good. It makes me want to come back by the hot temperature and delicious taste. I had the Oxtails and they were pretty expensive but worth it. The small meal is really enough for two. I wasn't thinking it was going to be that big and it was a pleasant surprise. I recommend this restaurant for your Jamaican fix if you're in the Newport area.

    Jamaican Rum Cake

Staff, service and smiles baby! This place does it all. Located kind of on the side where you just might miss it, this is my go to Jamaican place. The staff are always extremely sweet and attentive. I got the jerk chicken which was the PERFECT amount of seasoning. I even added more hot sauce! The rum cake is religious! Tastes so euphoric, and it's dense but a great amount. Don't miss out! You will regret it!

    Large oxtail
    Su A.

Both of these are Large. $19 each. If you look at the pictures , the portions are different. The picture that has the fork in it was perfect as far as the portions. The other meal had too much rice and less oxtails. The oxtails fell off the bone and the rice and cabbage were alright. .

This one chicken leg cut into 3 pieces is not worth $11. Never will I return and the customer service is extremely poor and rude!

There was plenty of seats available, I didn't wait to be helped, and everything was in stock! All menu items, refreshments, and desserts! This sounds weird but it isn't uncommon for Jamaican restaurants to run out of some food item. Value: I ordered a small plate of Jerk Chicken. It came with a choice of white rice or rice & peas and cabbage. I also had a choice of plantain or yams/sweet potatoes. This is a great value because it's common for you to only get a choice of rice and 1 additional side item. Additionally, I purchased a Ginger Beer and a slice of Carrot Cake. Taste: The rice and peas were good. They had a traditional Jamaican taste that was dryer and the way I like it. The jerk chicken was mild and had a BBQ-like taste. It didn't taste like traditional Jerk to me but was well flavored. The portions are generous so you will be full before you finish it. The Ginger Beer was a classic bottled beverage. The taste was consistent. Nothing really to report. The carrot cake was the overall winner! WOW! Perfectly flavored, not too heavy, and the a good price for the portion. I highly recommend you try this if you like carrot cake. I'll be back to try the rest of the menu. Please look for my review update in the next 3 months.

It was not crowded at lunch, but we got there when it first opened. We looked at the food up front, and inquired about the things that looked good. We ordered the pernil, sweet plantains, goat, skirt steak, winter squash stuffed with chicken, shrimp ceviche, mashed potatoes, yellow rice & beans, and tres leches. That was a lot of food- and we had it for lunch and dinner. We have leftovers for tomorrow. Everything was delicious. I usually don't like mashed potatoes at restaurants, but I liked these. My husband and I reviewed which food was our favorite. He liked the skirt steak with the yellow rice and beans. I think I like the goat with the rice and beans. I usually don't Iike rice, but I am a fan of rice and beans. I didn't get chicken thighs and legs that looked good, because we ordered so much food. The person behind the counter was very friendly and hopeful. The restaurant was still clean.

But then I walked into this spot and was immediately hit with the holy trinity: merengue, típico, and bachata blasting like it was a Saturday in Santiago. First off, shoutout to Christine--our waitress--who was sweet, chill, and had us feeling like VIPs. Then there's Jasmine, aka the Mamajuana Queen . She knew my happiness window was limited, so she made it her mission to turn the vibe ALL the way up. And then... she hit us with the cured Mamajuana shots. Not just a drink--this was ancestral medicine. Now let's talk FOOD. Dominican sushi. Yes. Tres. Golpes. In. A. Sushi. Roll. I almost cried. Then came the skirt steak with tostones and baby, let me tell you... I've never looked at a plate with that much respect. My husband had pork chops with arroz y habichuelas, and my friend smashed the chimi tostones like it was her last meal on Earth. The place? Clean. Cute. Culture-rich. And if you're not ready to go home after dinner, guess what? There's a club upstairs. That's right--dinner downstairs, dance battle upstairs. Dominican efficiency at its finest. Final verdict: This spot is a whole experience. Not just food--this is a vibe, a reunion, a spiritual realignment. If you're Dominican and homesick, GO.
