Every once in a while I have a craving for this place. Everything I've tried has been great: the jerk chicken, curry goat, but my favorite is the escovitch. They can make it mild or spicy. It is not on the online order system but you can place an order by phone and they'll know what you mean. It is expensive for a platter (went 2 days ago and it had gone up to $25). Everything else is pretty standard pricing. The platters come with cabbage (always fresh) and rice and peas (usually always have some left over). If you prefer more cabbage you can definitely mention you would like the portions 50/50 and they will accommodate. When I was young the place for Carribean food was Mrs. Parker's. It is the standard I use to compare other Carribean restaurants. The rice and bean are spicy and flavorful, the cabbage is refreshing, the patties are flakey crusted pockets of joy and the dumplings are so light they kept flying out the bag into my mouth. I had a piece of the rum cake too. Nice and moist, not sweet, super flavorful and has fruit in it too. But the second day i went i had gotten the oxtails with cabbage and rice, and I'm guessing because they just opened it was around 12:00pm that my oxtails weren't tender!
