    Oxtails rice&peas

Finally real Jamaican food in Delaware! Real peas in the rice. Flavorful oxtails with nuff gravy. The plantains were sweet. I never been so excited. I learned about this establishment a few weeks ago by way of a fundraiser at the time they ran out of oxtails so I said I would return on a less crowded day. Good choice I made. Listen before I even enter a spot that claim to cook real Jamaican food these are key things I look for on the Menu: Rice & Peans not Beans and Rice Callaloo not Collard greens Curry Goat not Curried Goat After the menu passes the first assessment next question Is the establishment clean? Yes Ok safe to order. So it's true.... Ya so is nice. Food good service was friendly. I found my spot!

Used to be my favorite place to get Jamaican food... the jerk chicken was always grilled .... It's been a while since I've been, but the jerk chicken tastes baked with the skin soggy. The plantains were drrrrry. The rice and peas were good tho. If I go again I'll only get those. Maybe there is a new owner since I've been last. Either way total disappointment.

If doesn't explain how good the food is please try for yourself

The food is pretty good as well as the customer service. I just wished they offered pepper steak as an option.

Food was awesome. But they close early and food runs out so plan ahead! Portions are a good size. Costly, but I would recommend.

I love that this Caribbean dine-in/take-out is minutes from my home. The food is superb and the service even better.

I finally visited this restaurant and I'm ashamed to say it took so long. It was a great time of…read moreday because it wasn't busy. There was plenty of seats available, I didn't wait to be helped, and everything was in stock! All menu items, refreshments, and desserts! This sounds weird but it isn't uncommon for Jamaican restaurants to run out of some food item. Value: I ordered a small plate of Jerk Chicken. It came with a choice of white rice or rice & peas and cabbage. I also had a choice of plantain or yams/sweet potatoes. This is a great value because it's common for you to only get a choice of rice and 1 additional side item. Additionally, I purchased a Ginger Beer and a slice of Carrot Cake. Taste: The rice and peas were good. They had a traditional Jamaican taste that was dryer and the way I like it. The jerk chicken was mild and had a BBQ-like taste. It didn't taste like traditional Jerk to me but was well flavored. The portions are generous so you will be full before you finish it. The Ginger Beer was a classic bottled beverage. The taste was consistent. Nothing really to report. The carrot cake was the overall winner! WOW! Perfectly flavored, not too heavy, and the a good price for the portion. I highly recommend you try this if you like carrot cake. I'll be back to try the rest of the menu. Please look for my review update in the next 3 months.

Overall Ratings: Restaurant: (3/5) Service: (5/5) Food: (4/5) Parking: Free parking lot Atmosphere: A typical takeout spot with a few tables for those who choose to dine in--nothing particularly remarkable. Service: The owner and staff were incredibly friendly, which my girlfriend especially appreciated. Their hospitality was a highlight of our experience. Food: We ordered: - Jerk Chicken - Flavorful but slightly dry - Creole Stew Chicken - Delicious - Sides (Rice & Beans, Steamed Cabbage with Carrots) - Absolutely delicious and complemented the entrées well - Spicy Slaw - Great flavor with a nice kick, but the portion was surprisingly small (served in a tiny sauce container) If ordering outside of DoorDash or other platforms, the side dish options can be unclear. Not all sides are included with meals, and some require an extra charge, which could be better communicated. Final Thoughts: Good food, excellent service, and a place we'd happily return to!

I came in right at 12:00 when they were open to get lunch. The doors were still locked so I placed an order over the phone and it took about 15 minutes for my order to be ready. They have a $12 lunch special where you can choose between jerk chicken or creole stew chicken, two sides and a can of soda. I tried the jerk chicken and it was delicious. The chicken was flavorful and the rice and peas offset the spice from the chicken. I also got a side of plantains. They had a nice flavor and crunch. Don't expect fast service everything is made to order so give yourself some time if you decide to order .
