As guest started pouring in, including myself, the manager was yelling at guest to wait & not sit. When she opened the buffet and people walked by to take a look at it. She would yell at them to start at a certain end of the table versus asking them. The catered food provided by Mission Paradise was below average. I understand why the family chose this location due to proximity to the cemetery but the catering manager/food was horrible. On the flipside the only good thing about this place is the location/parking and they allowed the host family to bing in their cultural dishes to supplement the buffet.

The staff was really communicative and helpful throughout the process. I was extremely impressed on the day of the event. The planning team and the point of contact was always so responsive and thoughtful to the planning of the event. It really took away the stress and anxiety when it comes to planning a company event for 400 people. They helped us coordinate every step of the way. We got a chance to tour the facility, which it gave us a great idea of the layout and amenities. The day of the event was very fun and ran smoothly. We had someone help us with check in and also was there to greet each guest. She was a very lovely girl who was so helpful and welcoming to the guest by letting them know the amenities and schedule for the day. The staff all had blue shirts, which was easy to spot them and every one of them was so friendly. The food was really wonderful and we're so happy we chose the option we did. There was potato salad, hamburgers, hot dogs, chicken wings, salad, beans, pesto salad, and rolls. The staff was very accommodating at the venue, they made sure to have plenty of vegetarian and vegan options. To top it all off, we had yummy snow cones that came in cherry red and tropical blue. The kids had really seemed to love the snow cones. We opted to have an open bar feature at the event, which the guests enjoyed beer and wine options. The venue was really beautiful and the trees provided much needed coverage from the summer sun. There were plenty of picnic tables for people to sit in various areas of the park. There were activities that included, bocce ball, swimming pool, horseshoe games, rock climbing wall, inflated golf course, bouncy house, basketball court, and volleyball court. This was such an amazing event and we had so much positive feedback from guests. The staff was really sweet and sent us a gift basket during Christmas. We hope for the opportunity to work with them again. I highly recommend this venue for events!

There was a party planner, food catering, DJ, and a bar. Not sure if the venue provided all that with a package but nonetheless everything ran smoothly. They also had security patrolling which I thought was great. My only complaint is that the dance floor was very small given the amount of space that was available. Also, there was another quince next door and their music could be heard on our side.

We recently got married at Little Hills and after touring at least 10 other spots, and we are so glad we went with our hearts on this one. Our first day of tours we absolutely loved LH, but couldn't believe that we'd found our spot immediately. Fast forward four weeks of touring, and we ended right back where we thought. Lindsey and the team were attentive to details, provided an absolutly gorgeous space, and made our 225 person wedding feel intimate and special. This space itself is the perfect fully outdoor backdrop for any vibe (we went super colorful) and there is some flexibility with vendors, which was important to us. We ended up going with their in-house catering and, not only were they on top of it with timing (double sided buffets), our guests keep raving about how wonderful the food was (this was super important to us). We did a moderate amount of DIY, but they have a full spectrum of offerings from full DIY to all inclusive, all executed with solid value. With our big guest count, we ended up hiring an outside day-of coordinator, but the venue comes with extra day-of support as well. We ended up adding extra vendor time onto our contract so that folks could get in early and it was worth the extra cost for us. I'll be raving about LH forever to all our friends and family, and now I just wish that they listen so we can experience the space as guests. They really made our day everything we were hoping for!

I'm simply going to state what happened and try to leave my feelings on this venue/coordinator out…read more We booked a tour 2 weeks in an advance, they have a strict policy where you must show up 10 minutes early or they cancel (we were early), and we had to wait until some childcare issue was resolved so she got there a bit late. We didn't know there was this issue, we called and texted without a response back, so we decided to walk around to see if we could find anyone. The best way to describe this place was that it looked suddenly abandoned mid-activity weeks ago. Doors were open all over the place, cars parked, items from previous events still out, dead leaves in the offices from the doors being open. No one was on site. The nature here is absolutely beautiful and was the main reason we decided to tour here. She gets there, explains why she was late, all is fine. The problem began when she immediately started downselling the place. First, it's that they don't really do 30 person events, more like 150-200, but then proceeds to show us pictures of a small 30ish person wedding. That we would need to pay for the minimum of 50 people even for 30 with the caterer, which was not a cost issue for us. We hadn't discussed any budget or other details besides it was a 30 person wedding and general dates. Then, our preferred dates in Oct/September may not be possible due to construction happening and it "should be posted all over her website". Yall, I checked after the fact and it was nowhere. We were still flexible on dates so again, not an issue. Mind you, this is maybe 5 minutes into the interaction. She reluctantly gave us a tour with minimum details. We had to inquire about most things meanwhile she stated she's been an event coordinator for like 7 years. She barely asked us any questions. She did ask what kind of food we wanted after we declined the Mediterranean option. We said Mexican and she said the minimum would depend on the caterer. She didn't really start to perk up and take the tour a bit more seriously until we mentioned we were from a wealthier area. And even then, she kept asking "really?". At the end of the short tour, she asked if we had received a proposal and we had not. She was somehow convinced we booked a tour last minute. She sounded so shocked no one ever got us anything in the 2 weeks we had booked the tour and said they would get a real proposal with our specific guest count. Even threw in a comment regarding food and how a taco truck would work (we didn't say taco truck). Two weeks later and we never got any sort of proposal or communication. This was such a deeply unprofessional meeting. We were ready to book, we didn't really have too much of a budget, and would have been happy to meet the irrelevant 50 person minimum for food. However, we couldn't even get a proposal out of this venue/team or a full tour based on the pictures of areas we didn't see. Avoid.

Susan (owner) is prompt and responsible on communications. Usually same day, 24 hours at the most. She is also a direct communicator (i.e., she will volunteer best practices in advance - which I personally resonated to). You can tell she has expertise in catering immediately. We needed a seating plan for our church's 20th Anniversary to accommodate 70 people and were able to get 60 in the main room and another table for the remaining 10 just outside in the adjoining buffet/bar area ( with line of sight to main room there was no problem). We opted in for some appetizers and a buffet style menu and hosted refreshment bar. The catered pricing, including venue was more than I was expecting, but in hindsight was reasonable considering the flexibility in set up accommodations, wonderful service and tasty food. Susan permitted several onsite run throughs for us, and gave us early access to set up which was an unexpected perk. Our service team consisting of Lisa, Julie, Adriana and Shelly were all in place and totally in the zone the entire event. They had out on platters the stuffed mushrooms and crab cakes three minutes into the welcome and mingle portion of the banquet. The coffee pot and condiments were ready all through the three hour event. The buffet line was opened and the food was warm (could have been hotter), but all tasty. I suggest that the gravy pot be reposition because it was hard to get too with being squeezed in between the two serving bins. Not sure why at some point that one of the staff members moved into the line to serve out the chicken fillets only. That was a little odd. The cake was expertly platted and served at the right moment. Tables cleared and waters refreshed adequately. Parking was street only but had nearby options so it all worked out well. The Audio/ Visual equipment was above average and worked without any issues. The entrance way on the front corner of the cafe would benefit with a cautionary led light or tape on the entry's one step as it blends into the approach and can represent a trip hazard, but we had no issues during our event. The bathrooms are eclectic, in character and clean. This organization did a fine job for our special event and we are very glad to have selected High Street Catering and Cafe. Probably one of the most memorable weddings as during the couples vows when a freight train passed by for 5 minutes which caused some laughter by the Officiant and guests. After dinner was served which by the way the pre-selected entrees of steak, salmon and chicken Marsala were actually really good snd not overcooked, the guests were either dancing or waiting in line for their ice cream from Mr. Softee when those inside were told to evacuate due to an electrical fire. Prior to the announcement, many of us had seen the outdoor lights flicker on an off and we thought that someone had accidentally was playing with the light switch. Fire department was called and shortly after we left. Staff was very professional throughout the event and no complaints with the indoor and outdoor venues.

Went here for a graduation party and the venue was great! We even had a 360 camera and there was still a lot of room. The sound system for the music was great, and there was a stage if you want to have a performance, or speakers, or even have a photo prop up there. The restrooms were clean and there are 3 stalls in the ladies room with a full body mirror too! There's a large parking lot for all of your guests, caterers, vendors, etc. If you want to go outside for some fresh air, there are some benches for you to sit at too. The facility is lovely, the staff very helpful, the tech and sound equipment worked great for our event. The teens and facilitators all had a great time. The location, close to BART and Orinda Village, was convenient, with plenty of parking. The Masonic leaders were very generous and supportive of this endeavor that engaged local youth. Highly recommend!
