Our Mom was a resident of the Meadows for nearly 8 years. During her stay she became friends with every member of the staff that took care of her. Mom was a very social person who loved to share her life stories and was interested in others as well. Not only was the care exceptional but personable as well. The Meadows soon became like family to us and we were grateful for the care and attention she received. Mom passed away May 31st 2025 ..but we know she made an impact on the staff as it was evident in their tears. THANK YOU for all you did . So they raised rates 700$ in the 2 years my dad has lived there but haven't improved services, just the remodel. Now I am informed it will be another 1,100+ a month for his care which is basic as they don't shower him or dress him. At one point we paid extra for that but they didn't do it so we took it off. They have about 3 employees who haven't left. My dad complains about the food so we have to grocery shop. The nerve to up your price by almost 2,000 a month in 2 years is ridiculous. He takes care of himself outside of laundry and meds. We only stayed there because the prices were low. We were on the fence about leaving but you made the choice for us. ROBBERY!!! read more

The Meadows staff have always been friendly and attentive to my family member's needs. He's been there more than five years, through various ups and downs in his health and changes in the type of care needed. There are activities nearly every day for the residents who are interested and musical entertainers at least a couple times each month. Caring for elderly residents, many with memory challenges and subject to mood swings, is very demanding. The Meadows does a good job of working through it all. read more

1. Residence rooms are extremely dirty and smell of urine and feces. 2. Staff aren't attentive to residents needs verbally physically or in any way. Residents are left to sit alone either in eating areas or in front of televisions without any interaction. Staff are very annoyed when spoken to. 3. Except for during meals, Residents aren't provided water unless they beg for it. 4. Staff do not provide any information or assistance when visitors arrive to the facility for the first time or any time after. They are very irritated when visitors speak to them and they do not respond when they are asked questions or informed about any issues or potential health or safety concerns. read more

Was thinking about this facility for our grandfather and while visiting the location we witnessed an employee a young male maybe in his early 20 sitting inside his vehiclesmoking marijuana while on shift apparently as he stated this as we witnessed him yelling at a female and her early 30s who appeared to just walk up to the trash can and the young boy started cursing at her and saying some really disgusting and disturbing things. Of course there may be a possibility that some other things possibly took place but I honestly doubt that because of the way she reacted and how mortified and scared she was either way I would think and employee is currently working would show a little more restrained and a little more professionalism more importantly because if this young man is reacting this way towards a young female how is he towards elderly guests that may have some issues? My other people made me wanting to take that chance with their family but we want the best for our grandfather as he has been there for us. And honestly if any assisted living facility is going to allow their employee to have "F**K your feelings " on the entire front windshield for every guest to see it might be safe to say there are going to be a lot more red flags. ** While writing this review the young man actually just pulled up to the female who was waiting at the bus stop for the bus and he jumped out of his vehicle saying he doesn't care if she's female that she needs to fight him because of her disrespect... I am in complete and total shock. I don't know what else to even say. Think of your loved ones safety and well-being. Recently visited this senior living facility and was so impressed. Seeing the folks that live there smiling and engaged told me all I needed to know. I visited around Noon and they had food displayed which looked surprisingly good and not what I had expected and it smelled wonderful. Visited this community for the first time in about a year and felt the need to come on here and say how impressed I am with the changes. Glad to see management that is returning The Meadows to their former glory. And you can tell it's working by how happy everyone is. Most friendly community in the greater Sacramento area! The facility look OK, and the location was fine. but I've found the management is only friendly until they get a commitment from the family and take payment. I have had my mother there for only a few months and in that time I have had the Meadows deduct or attempt to deduct twice unauthorized amounts for payment from my mother's account. I have attempted to contact the finance person Alyssa or the General Manager numerous time and left messages only to be ignored, having not received a return call or message. Over the last two days I have left, front desk messages, voicemail messages, and emails asking for a return call to fix the problem. It is my expectation they are looking to act as though my mother is late on a payment and charge her the late fees. we'll see! It is my recommendation to find another senior care facility unless you enjoy being scammed or having your loved one taken advantage of! I have never been so ignored by a business with multiple levels of management capable of returning a call in all my years. read more

I have no issue with staff. My concern is a safety issue. Seven of the twenty pereminter, free standing security lights are not functioning as well as one of the two outside lights over a door on the north side of the building. I informed a staff member in January and again in February to another staff member. It's now March and the lights are still out. read more

Our appreciation of The Meadows just grows with time. Our elderly parent has been cared for with equal parts loving attention and admirable competence. Every encounter with staff, from housekeeping to health services and management, has made us feel confident of her being in a great residence. A special shout out to Rick, who we know from chauffeuring the bus that we use to go to medical appointments. He is a great driver, but an even better encourager. I have nothing but praise for the facility and staff. The building is immaculate and the entire staff is helpful and friendly. They are anxious to provide a warm and welcoming environment. The nurse (Kamal) and administration are always available and seek to create an assisted living facility to be admired. The meals are inviting and flavorful. They are very attentive of my aunt and I feel fortunate to have found such a nice place for her to recover from her recent surgery. read more

Absolutely love The Meadows. The team has more longevity than most any assisted living community in town. That leads to better care in my opinion. Many, many caregivers have been there over 5 years. The Meadows is presented well but once my parent moved in it was a far cry from what was promised. The activities calendar always looks full of fun things for the residents to do but many times the activities just don't happen. It is rare that residents come out of their rooms to visit with others. The food on the menu sounds good but it is much less appealing once served. In the past few years that my parent has lived there more and more people with Alzheimer or Dementia are wandering the hallways unaware of where they are at or what they are doing. They should probably be residing in the Atrium but for whatever reason (maybe there's no room available) they are not. The rooms are very small for the price and this is for a person who does not need any assistance. When my parent was ill I thought that someone would be checking on her each day but she went for a few days without anyone coming by her room. What a disappointment! read more

Staff will not read the care notification on the label. Within weeks they will be rags. They tend to overtax doctors so much that the medical office will ignore all faxes received. This place promises more than it delivers. My mother resided at Meadows Senior Living for about a year. After having had a family member in this Assisted Living, we felt confident putting our mom here. Little did we know that things were falling apart at the seams from a management standpoint and the quality of care was pathetic. Whenever asked for nurse (Kamal), she was never in the building and the staff had no idea what was going on. The reviewers on here are praising Kamal but she is by far the worst nurse I have met. My mom's friends at the Meadows always complained about the managers and were not happy with their service. Every weekend when I came to visit my mom, no manager was ever available. Maintenance was terrible. They never fixed things on time. I can keep ranting. Bottom line, managers at the Meadows are not helpful at all and this place is horrible! Stay Away! read more

Wow, Vanessa J! Sounds more like you're a desgrunteled employee, that was maybe asked to leave, because you didn't stand up to Kamal's standards... If it was so bad, why would you keep your mom there? I am not an employee, nor do I have a loved one residing at The Meadow, but I have spent a lot of time there. Not only is it one of the best assisted living communities in the area, Kamal is probably the best nurse in assisted living. Vanessa, you forgot to mention that the reason she is out of the building a lot, is because she is so good at what she does and knows about senior care, the company has her going to their other buildings to train their nurses. Her staff is so well trained by her, she doesn't need to be there 24/7. I hope you are proud of your immature, inflammatory, & trolling attempt to make her & the community look bad. I can only hope that your Karma catches up with you soon. To all of you looking in the Elk Grove area for assisted living, please don't base your search on reviews you read here, or anywhere else. There are some great communities in the area, and The Meadows is one of them. Visit, meet the staff, talk to the residents, and make up your own mind after you do your homework.
