Valley Ridge Presbyterian Homes Assisted Living and Memory Care…read more Most of the staff that provide direct service are helpful and kind. Most of my interactions with management are difficult. Their language is threatening, they expect very important decisions to made immediately and require your signature locking you into decisions under pressure. When they give corrections to my parent because of a mistake or misunderstanding it always comes with a veiled threat of eviction. If we ask for documentation on policies or their "point system" so we can have a better understanding of what we are paying for or what they are recommending it is very hard to get them to give us written materials to review. The lease we signed refers to other documents, brochures, for costly policy information. Yes, the brochures were provided in a stack about 1/2 inch thick with other promotional material, but not fully explained. And these brochures look like they can be changed or updated at any time, which does not seem to me to be legal since they are connected to our lease agreement. They promote themselves as a non-profit providing service to the elderly but working with the management is like working with a used car dealership. One more thing, the food is awful. My parent gets about one meal a week that they do not complain about. I know food seems like a petty complaint, but my parent does not have much to look forward to, and food is a very big part of their day.

Her health and cognition dropped severely. This was all within 7 months. It is very difficult to see beyond the hype of marketing in this industry and find the truth. CareSuites was truly a Godsend. We are so grateful for the mission, standards, and consistent loving care that this Nonprofit lives up to. And CNAs. Not hired off the street, "trained on the job". An RN on duty 24/7. Proper staffing. Low turnover. Quality care. My mother changed to the MD and ARNP that come out every week to see clients by appointment. A real difference for the healthcare assessment on site. My mother passed in hospice here after 9 months. She and we were blessed.

The staff/resident ratio is 1 staff for every 5 residents. I have worked at several senior homes, this is the only place that I have worked at that has a ratio like this.ratio like this. What I love about Walker Methodist is how the residents are loved and cared for. There are several activities each day for the residents, there is a top chef cooking demo once a month. The residents are always going out on day trips. Most importantly, this is a home for our seniors and we are all family.

It is getting OLD!!! Have someone monitor the door so people can get in to visit their relatives. I usually haul myself all the way around front and walk all the way back through the facility. However, right as you walk in the main front doors at the business office today, there was a dead body and they were holding a service right there at the front door. There is a chapel and a reception area a few feet away. There was literally no way to enter. You rarely get a call back when you leave it. Memory care rarely answers their phone. I am. so tired of the stress related to my dad being there. He is not a kind man, but I am a kind person. I am just OVER the crap!! I don't know why this says I am in Illinois. Though he's excited to get home and back to his life he said he will miss the staff when he leaves and he sincerely means that. Thank you for helping us during such a difficult time.

From frequenting a national caregiver's forum, I know how absolutely rare this service is. When…read morefaced with finding care facilities, most people in the U.S. have to go it alone or with a patchwork of insufficient advice from profit-driven referral agencies or underfunded social organizations. They dig through marketing materials, sales pitches, and inconsistent pricing models and juggle site visits, never getting the inside scoop to have confidence that they're selecting the best fit for their loved one. After a phone interview exploring everything from ADL needs to personality quirks, TCC took that data, came back to us within a week with their 4 top suggestions. They offered a rundown of exactly why each would fit with knowledge of the history of each, their business practices, style of care, staffing levels, along with an apples-to-apples comparison of monthly costs. Our TCC rep met us for site visits scheduled across two days, and made sure we got the info we needed, asking questions once ours were done to fill in any gaps. At each site, we spent a few minutes after meeting with the staff to talk to our rep and she ensured we had what we needed and shared her insights about the visit. When we'd completed all the visits, we spent a few days making a decision. We had what we needed to understand the daily experience as well as both short and long-term financial effects including the impact of a potential future switch to Medicaid funding at each option. We let our rep know, and she informed each home of our decision so we were ready to coordinate with the chosen home on move-in preparation. There is truly no substitution for the amount of knowledge and guidance that you get from TCC. A year later, it's clear we found the best place for our situation with their help. They're awesome and I recommend that everyone researching an assisted living, memory care, or similar facility call them first.

We worked with Diana, who was so kind, compassionate, and super knowledgeable about senior living and all the details that go with it. We found a great place for my mom and I'm very thankful that Diana was such a great resource for us, guiding us to companies that could help my mom move, asking great questions and making sure we fully understood what each place provided. Plus her presence was very calming. I highly recommend Twin Cities Care!

Accepting this reality can bring up many feelings for all involved - fear, anger, sadness, and helplessness. However, the minute we stepped inside American Heritage for our tour, the staff greeting us made us feel right at home. The Director of Nursing, Amanda, was phenomenal. Her caring actions demonstrated her commitment to listening to, and meeting, our needs, wants, and feelings. In addition to her medical expertise, she provided detailed explanations that eased everyone's anxiety. The rest of the staff are highly professional and caring, and will go the extra mile to assist you in any way they can. The owner of the facility, Nancy, is deeply involved and cares greatly for the residents and employees. It is evident in the atmosphere in the home that she leads with a positive, caring attitude (i.e. trickle-down effect). In and of itself, the home deserves a review. The house is located in a beautiful neighborhood near parks, trails, shopping, and various restaurants for you and your loved one to explore together. Its interior is breathtakingly beautiful, exceptionally clean, and equipped with modern safety features. And did I mention that there is an on-site chef?! If you or a loved one is looking for assisted living, look no further. I promise you won't be disappointed.
