There are lots of assessments and these can get tiresome but they are required. I wish the family could get more frequent reports. However there are HIPAA and privacy concerns. Many staff go above and beyond and truly care about everyone, co-workers and all of the service recipients. Life can be tough in general, but in during the beginning of the pandemic and throughout this time of uncertainty, staff and service recipients have really pulled together. Each individual stepped up and worked hard at supporting each other and being creative with keeping busy, especially during lockdown and all of the day programs shut down. The team, including both service recipients and staff, came together better than most "regular" families. Very heartwarming to see this.

My family specifically went with Senior Helpers because of Steve's assurances that he was "more than adequately" staffed to ensure the kind of coverage we sought for my mom. We already had experience with other PCA companies and were specifically seeking out a company whose staffing capacity would ensure my mother and her caregiver would be a good interpersonal fit. Unfortunately, Senior Helpers failed miserably and stated they could no longer provide care to my mother after a few short weeks due to staffing shortages. During the 3 weeks Senior Helpers attempted to be helpful my mother had 5 different caregivers. Consider a new business name--Senior Unhelpful or Senior Understaffed Helpers.

On one occasion my mom got driven to a doctors appointment and got help with some other tasks around the house. The second time we called, Steve responded quickly and was able to match my father with a wonderful caregiver who came twice a week. Both times, the caregivers were pleasant and attentive. Steve also set up a new AI app in my parents appartment which senses unusual activity. It detected a fall in the middle of the night, and Steve got help to my father immediately. We immediately knew New Perspective was a great fit for my Aunt. Coleen, the sales director was very thorough answering all of our questions and helped us through the entire process. My aunt's apartment is so beautiful and spacious, with a full kitchen, dining room, living room, bedroom, walk-in shower, and in-unit laundry room! They have wonderful amenities. Charlotte, and the nursing staff have managed to successfully monitor the care of the residents while keeping them virus free. My aunt is genuinely happy and has commented several times about how caring Bridget, the director, and all the care staff are. She has been able to get the help she needs at New Perspective, and still maintain her independence.

We used Synergy for Personal Care Services for my father. We were given 20 hours of service through…read morethe VA and planned to private pay for the remaining coverage we needed; however, Synergy was never able to fulfill our requested hours (most weeks they were only able to fulfill 4 hours!) Each week we had a new PCA which made it difficult for my father to build a relationship with his caregiver. Also we requested only COVID vaccinated PCAs be staffed but they sent staff who were unvaccinated (which made my dad uncomfortable so he hid in his room away from the PCA the entire time)

Synergy is ready if I need to help me with out patient procedure where transportation and staying to be available to help me keep back home in the hands of a care provider. I have several procedures plans for the next several months and plan make Synergy my backup when family cannot help me. Now, after I do use a service I will do an updated rating.
