When I called Monroe Pharmacy to complain, and asked for a reimbursement, they explained that the reason for this was that they do not get the manufacturer's discount that larger chain type pharmacies (CVS and Walgreens) get. I wish they would have been transparent all along and told me that I would be paying more with them as a result, $65 more. I cannot afford to pay more than my insurance copay. Also, I want to feel safe and trust the pharmacy I do business with. Now, I understand that it's important to shop around and make sure the pharmacy you choose is offering you the best price in accordance to your insurance and neighboring pharmacies. Going forward I will call my insurance to ask what the copay is for each medication to make sure I'm not overpaying. Very disappointed and truly felt taken

The blister pack multiple medication bubble pack service reduces medication errors, eases patients' anxiety, improves patient adherence, prevents missed doses, assists care givers, provides visual checks on weather medications were taken or not, and is a space saver and provides ease of portability. These book-fold bubble cards look adorable stored anywhere, but must just keep them safely stored away from children of course. Just takes seconds to get arranged and packed. Overall, a great service to provide patients. Plus It will improve your bottom line. There will be healthier and happier patients in the long run. Nice thing wouldn't you say? I called most, if not all, of the chain stores, but none was willing to deal with the mail order company to have the prescription transferred. My family has used this pharmacy for years, even tho they have bankers hours. We always prefer smaller businesses to the larger chains. Recently, with an ailing mom, Accucare has really hurt us. We were waiting on an important pain med, and each time we sent relatives to pick up other needed meds, that drug was not included. After validating with the doc that the script was submitted, we sent my neice to get it and a new antibiotic late friday for the weekend. She was turned away without either drug - a problem with insurance? I called frustrated Saturday and found out that the drugs were still inexpensive but the pharmacist was waiting on a call backs from the doc or insurance but no call to us. Now I live an hour away and they close at noon on Saturdays.....I had to do a 2 hour round trip in a rush to get my mom these meds. Each issue was financially meaningless, but the meds critical. So, niceness aside, this is unacceptable in a pharmacy. ESPECIALLY since it is was late on a Friday with such limited hours. Can you imagine? "No we don't have your moms meds and we close soon." We are all moving to one of the larger pharmacies that have longer hours and where they would fill and let you know the new cost if insurance was denied.

Accucare was on the list and was very nearby so we tried them and I'm so happy we did! The comparison between them and a Rite Aid or a Walgreens is like night and day - they're fast, accommodating, informative and treat you like a human being - not just another number on line. We recently purchased a nebulizer for my toddler that her doctor prescribed and upon picking it up, the pharmacist recognized this was going to be for a tiny human and that there was no toddler-sized mask included, so he went and found one in his storage and gave it to us for free so she would be more comfortable receiving her treatments. This place is top notch!
