I've been a huge fan of Dominique's classes for ages because they're the toughest, best work outs. So, I decided to try out her classes at Lagree and I was blown away. I couldn't believe that a 25 minute class could be so tough but this machine is amazing. It tilts and is on a ramp too. Can't recommend this enough. And take Dominique's class. Let me start of by saying I do love the machines and the classes. However they are a hit and miss which is disappointing because they are only 25 minutes and I want to get the most out of it. The machines were broken down for a while during an update. This resulted in using the machines as a regular pilates like class rather than a Supra class which was very disappointing because it still cost the full price and you were not warned before. Most of the instructors are great, especially Samantha, Emma, Danielle and Ty. However there are some instructors who do not pay close attention to what is going on in the room which leaves new client's lost on the big machines. I mainly go to the Supra classes but I do like incorporating Booty Burn classes. What I have noticed is that some instructors to not stick to only leg workouts during a Booty Burn class which transforms it into more of a Supra class and therefor defeating the purpose of a specialty class. I feel like the studio is still finding a bit of it's balance at times and things don't seem to run as smoothly as one is used to in other workout classes, I do hope it improves because the machines are great! read more

Classpass review - I absolutely LOVE throwing this quick and effective class into my routine whenever I can! It's crazy how difficult every class is. I'm always proud of myself for being able to walk out afterwards! I love that I can sweat in that little amount of time. I do have a few comments. The thing I love most about Pilates is that I can zero in on exactly the muscles I should be using for the movement. For some reason, as soon as a teacher says 'push from your glute, not your quad', it clicks in my brain and I can adjust to do the exercise properly. Here, that just doesn't ever happen. There seems to always be new people in the class, and they just don't direct the best way they could which might lead to some injuries. Am I using my legs? My glutes? Pushing from my shoulders instead of my arms? Keeping my arms still or moving them? Where should I be shaking? Anything to bring me back to my movement to get the most out of the class would be amazing. Second, I think it's a little odd that the teachers don't prep the springs for the next class. It's only 25 minutes of work, you should want your students to walk in and have a machine that's ready to go the second they sit on it. It's weird to wait until the second you're about to start, call out what position we'll be doing, and then say to take off a spring or add one quickly to begin. I've been to this place a few times and know the importance of having the carriage all the way down when adjusting springs, but in a bit of hurried confusion, I accidentally pinched my thumb in the spring when taking one off. I didn't realize I was bleeding quite a bit until I moved my carriage up to the back and finally looked down at my hands. It just seems odd to hurry someone the very first second of the class when the instructor could've easily walked around and changed them while even still chatting with a student if needed. But honestly, accidents happen and I still can listen to my body to figure out what muscles to be using. None of that will keep me from coming back - it's just too good of a workout! read more

Loved the workout and how I felt after! Trust me you'll shake and it will burn. It's just my first time and I know I'll come back however - the instructor was super rude and condescending towards me. I did not like that or appreciate it. I'm here to improve myself and workout not be treated badly . They really should respect their customers and be supportive / encouraging not rude. I'm giving four starts instead of five only because some instructors are far better than others. That being said, everyone here is generally super cool, especially at the front desk (which is actually in the back). The Lagree employees are the ones who informed me that class packages legally can't expire in California (for the most part)-- which was so dope and honest. I do wish they had a suggestion box at the front desk for clients to offer compliments as well as constructive criticisms-- but it's so so nice to come in and see smiles on employees' faces. The owner, Danielle, is one one of the most welcoming fitness personalities that I've come across. The WORKOUT: For 25 minutes a few times a week, look no further than this place. BUT I do miss certain things about the Megaformer (which I used to do religiously at Pilates Plus years ago). For example, you can't do side overs because the machines are too close together. For me, side overs are the most effective way to carve the waist and obliques. On the Supra, 99 percent of the ab exercises --and several of the leg ones-- involve putting pressure on your wrists and/or elbows (bear, plank to pike, etc). Sometimes I've stayed in the all fours position (elbows or wrists) for twelve and a half minutes... which is just too much for someone who works on a computer all day... which a huge part of the population ALSO DOES. (In yoga, you repeatedly do child's pose, which naturally gives the wrists a break.) Now, any fitness instructor will say that if your form is correct, you won't feel your wrists... but again... they're not typing all day. Some of the instructors will also tell you to go down to your elbows as a variation... but you're still putting pressure on that area (Here is where it would be great to have the side over available as a nice alternative). The instructors that vary the actual position of your body--and thereby give your wrists a break-- are Sarah O'Dwyer and Sharnee Lee Scott (who has the world's most mellifluous voice). They also give you options of the amount of weight you can use for each exercise, whereas some of the male instructors just give you one option for both men and women... which doesn't make much sense. If it's too much weight, then you may be sore the next day but not necessarily in the right places. (I offer the previous sentence as an experienced exerciser who is not scared of loading up weight-- no 3lb Tracy Anderson crap here.) You need to move weight to build and sculpt... but you also need to honor your body on any given day. Overall, I really wish there was more variation in both the leg and ab exercises re: pressure on the wrists/ elbows-- it seems like some instructors just enjoy coming up with cool new sequences without any thought into this--- However, all of that being said-- if it's just a few times a week, this is a wonderful wonderful place re: a great workout in 25 minutes! read more

After years of doing crossfit, I learned to love a hard workout and hate the Achilles injury I got from doing it. Since then, I've been looking for a workout that would push me to my limit without risk of injury. I've been doing Lagree for the last four months and it is without a doubt not only more challenging than crossfit but also safer because it challenges you to move slow and with control which is actually way tougher than just banging your way through a bunch of reps. It's hard to believe that you can get an incredible workout in just 25 minutes but you really can. If you don't think you can, then come and try it and you'll find out just how easily 25 minutes on a supraformer can leave your body feeling like you've done an hour of something else. Sebastien Lagree, the inventor of the method teaches here, and is amazing. I love his classes. I'm also obsessed with Dominique Duncan. Took my first class here this morning and fell in love with the suprareformer. I found out this studio is the only one in the world that has this reformer. The instructor was great. The studio had all the right amenities. What's special about this reformer is its incline and rotational capabilities. The only thing I would change is the length of the classes- 25 minutes is simply not enough time. I'm probably going to sign up for a back to back class next time. read more

Updating my review solely because of the lack of assistance when I had an issue with attending the class I was originally scheduled for. On my second trip I called as I was on my way and let them know that UNEXPECTED traffic was going to make me 15 minutes late for a 25 minute class... The individual at the front desk was not helpful at all and almost had an annoyed tone. I asked if I would be able to use this credit today for a future class or one today and I was not helped although I wast old i would be. I've taken two classes now with Mr. Lagree himself and I am amazed at how challenging a 25 minute class can be! It burns so good after 25 minutes of extremely difficult work. I have been using the megaformer religiously for over 2 years and I have to say that the supraformer is on another level. Don't be fooled because this class is just 25 min. You will shake within the first 2 min if you work hard, guaranteed. I kept thinking to myself during the class "thank god this isn't a 45 min class" because I wouldn't be able to make it. It's that hard - but very worth it. The way it's designed is genius because it forces you to work against gravity and make your workout twice as intense. This workout is totally unique, even to those of us who already are familiar with the "torture machine" that is the megaformer. The 5 star review is for classes taught by Ky or Sebastien. Sebastien focuses on form like no one else does, which makes sense because he invented the machine. Ky will push you to your EXTREME limits, and you will leave feeling stronger than ever before. With that said, I've taken a few other instructors' classes here and felt like I wasn't pushed hard enough. I've added Ky's class into my routine once a week, and am definitely seeing results! read more

To be honest, i'm kind of nervous leaving this review seeing as how the other 1 star customer was treated in the response... I arrived 6 mins before class started- albeit probably not the best timing, however still not late. I've just moved to the L.A area after living in a rural city for most of my life, so still getting used to the traffic here. I came in to the studio, very confused- no one greeted me, and I didn't realize that the check in desk was in the back. I set my water bottle and towel down on one of the few machines that weren't broken (12 out of maybe 20 something were working) and asked the instructor (who was actually very sweet and kind) if i needed anything before I started class. She said I would need toe socks to get on the machine- I had left my credit card in the car and had carpooled there, so I asked the receptionist if I could grab some and pay later. She reluctantly agreed and I went back to my machine. By that time it had probably been about 3 mins or so. Class was about to start and someone else had gotten on the last working machine-( the one all my stuff was set by) The receptionist initially apologized and said that the woman must have made a mistake and came in a class too early. I said it was fine and that I would wait until the next class. I waited outside for my ride to arrive for the next 25 mins so I could pay for the socks and then go back in. Shortly thereafter, the receptionist comes out- says she figured out the problem and says that she overbooked the class, but it was my fault for arriving late (I didn't know 6 mins before class was late??) . She says that I could try again some other time, but doesn't seem to want me there anymore- she doesn't offer a refund , then accuses me of trying to steal the socks and takes them in- which I was fine with- by that time I just wanted to go. And I did. I can't imagine what kind of response this review will receive.. read more

This workout is no joke! Best kept secret in L.A., until now. The other intense explosive crazy workouts in L.A. which lead to a connective tissue injury in my hip put me out for 3 years. Now 95% better I want to be at the top of my game and tried a class and now I am hooked. There is no harmful impact or repetition on my joints and it is only 25 minute full body workout. The coolest thing is that the super formers beds move making the moves more intense. I can't wait to go back! read more

5 stars because this was the hardest workout I have ever done! I went to a 25 minute class with Ky Evans and if you are up for a challenge, take one of his classes. He is truly the best of the best, is highly motivating and provides a lot of personal attention to ensure that you are doing everything using perfect form. The machines at this studio take the reformer pilates experience to a whole new level (they can incline upwards, tilt to the side...its pretty insane!) I've been to several similar studios around LA and this workout was the hardest. I don't think I could have lasted longer than 25 minutes. At the same time, I actually felt a difference in my body after 1 workout, and this is something that I never see even after going to the gym for months. read more

The Lagree Method PLUS the Supraformer PLUS the hottest trainer--Lauren Barnette = the BEST 25 minutes of my life. I'm a regular at the gym, but this workout is kickass! It's only 25 minutes, which is great for my schedule, but it is a total body workout. The Supraformer is the most intense machine I've ever used. The tilts and inclines will push your body to limits you didn't know could be reached. The machine mixed with the Lagree Method is absolutely the best workout in town. Not only will you get a killer workout, you'll also be welcomed by Mrs. Lagree. Danielle is always so friendly and ready to answer any questions you may have. You can tell she loves what she does because the studio is immaculate. The bathrooms, reception area and lockers all resemble a high end hotel. Anything you need or forgot, guaranteed they'll have it. And now, the best for last. I am obsessed with Lagree trainer Lauren Barnette. Her workouts are thorough, tough and fun. I've been to a few of the other trainers, but she is my pick. It's a really tough workout, and she helps you get through it with motivation and her witty, feisty attitude. She's always friendly, upbeat and ready to make you work...and laugh! Not to mention, she is very easy on the eyes. I love everything about Lagree Fitness Studio. Okay. There's a lot of good at this studio. First off, the machines are AWESOME. I have scoliosis, and a lot of the exercises, I can't do on a regular superformer or proformer. For example, I can never do French Twist for longer than 10 seconds, until it goes straight into my lower back. But on this machine, for some reason, I can do French Twist for the entire minute/minute-and-a-half, and it doesn't go into my back at all. I can even do it with the incline! It's very very very low impact, and still very very very intense and effective. If you have wrist problems too, it's extremely wrist friendly. The studio is very nice. They have gum at the front desk, which I love. A really beautiful lobby area. The machines are nice and spaced out. There aren't too many machines. Classes are very affordable. Okay, the problems: The sound system is not good. A teacher will be looking right at you talking, maybe even just 6 feet away from you, and you'll have not the faintest idea of what they're saying. There's no clarity with the mic whatsoever. It's similar to Sebastien's old studio, which is now Carrie's Pilates Plus (which still has this sound clarity problem as well). The sound system is really poor. I've been to studios that are bigger than Sebastien's current studio, and they have a perfectly clear sound system. It would be really nice to get it fixed. I would love to understand what's being said 100% of the time instead of %50. The classes need to be 40 minutes. Yes, it's intense. But, I've taken a couple now, and there's always at least one large muscle group that gets ignored, if not, two large muscle groups that get ignored. And that's a lot of ignored muscle groups! And because of that, I cannot just have a membership to Lagree Fitness Studio, even though that's what I want (because the machine is awesome). Because of the "missed muscle groups," I still have to keep my membership at a full 50-55 minute class. Last time I went, there were no arms. And I asked the teacher the other day about inner thighs, and she said there are no inner thigh workouts right now on the machine. That's where all of my fat goes! I understand they're trying to market the machine with all of the tilts and elevations, and I don't know how they can do an inner thighs exercise with that. However, it's still an important muscle group. The other class I went to, there was one oblique exercise on each side. I've been doing this workout for close to a decade. That's not enough, even with the added intensity of the machine. Another class, we did a ton of core, which was great, but then she only had time to teach 2 leg exercises on each side. That is completely not enough. I barely got a leg workout. Also, they got rid of the bungee! Bungee would still be great! Bungee's the best. I think 85% tilting excersices and 15% proformer/superformer non-tilting exercises would be an awesome mix. So basically, it's a brilliant machine. Sebastien is super nice. All of the teachers have been great so far (when I can understand them). But, I feel like I am not getting a full body workout. It's such a tease, because the machine is so good, but it's not long enough at all and not giving me a full body exhausted workout, like a 50-55 minute superformer class does. I leave either one or two ways---- really exhausted legs, no core or upper body. Or, really exhausted core, and no legs or upper body (I've yet to have a good upper body workout there, unfortunately. You do get an upper body workout from the mere fact of "holding on" so you don't fall when the titling occurs....but again, if you've been doing it for 10 years, it's certainly not enough for it to sculpt my upper body by just holding on). Please Sebastien, add at least another 15 minutes on there! Thanks so much. read more

As a lover of Class Pass, I really love being able to check out new studios and ways of working out. Some are duds, many are winners, and a select few are off the chart superstars -- Lagree Fitness falls into the off the chart superstar meter. For those who are time challenged it is a quick workout - only 25 minutes, but trust me, you will feel every last minute of it & just when you think you cannot move any more - viola it is over. The instructor I had, Dominique was very helpful, friendly and did her best to push me and the rest of the class along. They also have parking which in Weho is like finding a needle in a haystack. Very friendly group of people. If you don't have the illustrious Class Pass - I believe the first class is $15 so not bad. read more

Lagree Fitness - the man behind the amazing M2, M3 and the Supra machine opened his studio in January and I'm thrilled to say it is worth the trip from Santa Monica. The workout on the supraformer is intense and challenging. I'm drenched in sweat within 10 min. The studio is conveniently located in Weho with plenty of street parking. I love the studio's spacious dark sexy interiors with non-fluorescent lighting. It is very clean. Danielle the owner is always around to make sure that the studio is spotless for the next class. Two bathrooms in the studio is a big plus! I take Ky Evans high energy classes. He has been my SPX trainer for 5 consecutive years. I take his classes 3-5x per week and I have increased my muscle mass and strength tenfold. Ky has been an invaluable trainer who lives and breathes the SPX fitness lifestyle. Ky implements the 'science' to elevate your strength and increase muscle mass in all his classes. He is always ahead of the fitness science research. He motivates, inspires and is generous with his knowledge of fitness, diet and creativity. I've recommended my friends and will continue to do so! Ky trains you like an athlete. Train hard but you see the results within weeks. I've observed other members who have taken his class as a beginner and after several weeks of consistent hard work the physical transformation is phenomenal. My first Lagree Fitness Studio class was through ClassPass. I had never done Pilates before, so I was a Pilates/Reformer virgin. My first class was with Ky. Let's just say since that first class, I signed up for 10 classes so that I wouldn't have to use ClassPass. I've attended classes with Ty and Dominique. All three instructors have been great! I attend more of Ty's classes mostly because of the scheduling but also because he's a great instructor. He is extremely motivating and explains the movements well. He is constantly checking in with us during the gruesome 25-minute workout. He is quick to even get right on to the floor to show us what the movement/body alignment should look like. I find that most helpful especially since we can't really see the person next to us otherwise, you will fall off the Supraformer! This is a true test of your muscular and mental strength. It's an efficient workout in 25-minutes. I attend during the week, after 5pm. I have no problems finding metered parking on the street. You need grippy socks and I recommend a headband or wristband during class because you will SWEAT! You will be challenged. But hey, you're reading this because you're curious. So give it a try already! Don't be afraid to ask questions before you hop on the Supraformer. It's your workout, make the most of it. read more

The workout is great - but the only real complaint is regarding the trainers. The trainers rotate so often, its really a shame. Its seems week to week its crap shoot (at the exact same time and days) on who you will get. Vast majority of the trainers are great, but then there are a few that simply don't live up to Lagree standards. My only wish was they had fewer trainers and simply better quality.. think it would improve the quality and make it more personal if every two weeks you didn't have to meet a new trainer. read more

I cannot say enough amazing things about this place. The customer service here is stellar. They're serious about customers being satisfied and getting a great workout. In the end, they want to *earn* your loyalty--and that is the type of business I will support. Also, the facilities are sleek and spotlessly clean, and parking is really easy. My favorite instructors are Sebastien (the amiable founder, who has a great, focused demeanor), Sarah Horng (sweet, but really tough), and of course the inimitable Ky Evans (a total character who can be an acquired taste for some, but WILL transform your body). I LOVVVE everything about Lagree! My AMAZING instructor, Lauren Barnette! The Supraformer! The location! The vibe! The studio! And the results I have seen from doing this in such a short amount of time!As a former D1 collegiate track and field athlete, I know the meaning of a hard workout and I honestly believe this is my favorite workout ever. First of all... Lauren inspires me with her own body which gives me more motivation not to give up and she has worked with me to set and achieve my ultimate body goals personal to me. It helps knowing that she actually cares and believes in me. Her upbeat personality/energy and witty comments during the workout really keeps me going and makes for a FUN workout that never gets old or boring. If you try Lagree I highly recommend her, she's the best! Secondly, the Supraformer is a machine unlike anything I've ever seen... There are no limits on how far you can go with all the different adjustments from weight to incline and side to side angles and the many different exercises that can be done. It works every single muscle, it helps with flexibility, it's sexy, and it's the future of fitness. It's a fast pace, super intense full body workout in only 25 minutes. My schedule doesn't allow me much time for working out so this is perfect for me to reach my goals. Every time I do this I always end up with muscles twitching and feeling it in muscles I never knew existed. Haha I have also had the opportunity of meeting Danielle and Sebastian who own the studio and created the Supraformer.
