Absolutely horrific pop up for Valentine's Day! We drove 1.5 hours each way based on the many past…read moregreat experiences I've had at J Bell and Eats and Elixirs. The soup was fantastic, but the small salad and cold pasta, topped with a small salt block beef tenderloin was insulting. The staff could not tell a grapefruit from a mandarin based on the description of the bite size salad we were served. The wine pairings came out 15-20 mins before the dishes, so apparently we were supposed to stare at the wine and not drink it considering how cheap they were and did not offer refill pours. The staff was overly defensive and deflective when I brought things to their attention, including Shawn, the head chef How about you give me $240 a plate for Valentine's Day and let me serve you such mediocre dishes and let me see how you feel. I am not sure how quality was so lost over the years Never again....

Fast forward a few years and this guy and his crew continue to bring it like it's no bodies business! A love of all thing culinary, crosses with a love of community and topped with the realization that the area was in dire need of a foodie revolution, Fat Pastor Production was born. In the time they've been doing their thing, they've started doing boss level catering for groups of 20 to several 100, created "Urban Kitchen" a non-profit that brings at risk youth into the kitchen to teach them business, cooking and life skills, and established BITE CLUB - an underground dining club. We've had the privilege of partaking in each one of these forums and none has ever left us wanting! The catering has brought a new level of culinary delight to the valley. The dishes they prepare range from tried and true, to creative and dynamic. We've been at function of 25 and function of 200 where they serve and each time they bring their A game! The BITE CLUB (Capitalized because I'm always excited about it!) is in a league of it's own. They announce a themed dinner - ranging from classic French, to Zambian, to a 15-Mile dinner (where everything was from within 15 miles of the city), to fire roasted everything, to a guilty pleasures dinner, or THE MASTER CHEF SERIES - where fellow master chef contestants come and cook alongside the team. These are roughly 10% of what's been held in the past 18 months and each dinner is held at a new location. These have ranged from wineries, to private homes, an art gallery, on the fairway of a golf course, barns, and museums. They've become incredible at pairing food with atmosphere and creating experiences. We eat A LOT, and to date we're yet to have something from these guys that we don't like. If you have the chance to check these guys you, you absolutely must!

The dishes are extra generous with about 2 servings worth of food each. For a starter, we had the crab rangoon which came with more pieces than we were expecting. The crab flavor was more pronounced than the cream cheese- which we found delicious. I thought all rangoon were basically from the same supplier, but these were richer than any we had before. I ordered a blue Thai iced tea. I think I was expecting blue raspberry Italian soda flavor, which this was definitely not. It had an earthy, unique flavor that is closer to an ube. They mentioned it was made from butterfly peas. Pad Thai came with plenty of large prawns and was full of tangy tamarind flavor. Three stars was the perfect balance of heat for me. It reminded me of the very first Pad Thai I had back in 1999 at a restaurant in Seattle that no longer exists. It immediately made me feel nostalgia for that era. Tom Kha soup is pure comfort food with a hearty coconut milk base and plenty of carrots, onions, broccoli, green beans, tomato and mushrooms. They bring you a large portion of rice to accompany the dish which I always like to mix in with my soup. This was my girlfriend's favorite dish here. The mango sticky rice had hot, sticky rice, sliced mangos and sweet cream drizzled all over the top. The mango was fresh and firm. This was a nice balance of flavors without overt sweetness drowning anything out. The service was excellent with the staff anticipating our refill needs and checking on us often. The ambience for dining was simple and understated. They call their fare "Thai street food" and the decor matches that to a T. Not fancy, but quaint and perfect for a fun date. Overall, we are very happy that we found this place and would recommend it to anyone who enjoys good Thai cuisine.

Looks like it might accommodate 25 diners. Take out appears to be bustling. The Pad Thai was on point. The best I have had in Yakima and I'm pretty sure I've sampled all this town has to offer. The portion was generous and easily will provide 3 more meals beyond today's lunch. The tableware is solid and comfortable to use. (I do not like thin stamped out metal forks, I'd rather use plastic) The hostess/server was a delight. She was attentive, had a knack for timing when checking in with us. She was kind and friendly. When we took our leave, the hostess and cook expressed genuine appreciation of our business and I got a good look at the kitchen; also clean and tidy. My friend and I agreed that this is a restaurant that deserves to be well supported so we don't lose it.
