I walked into Panera Bread that day just looking for a simple bowl of broccoli cheddar soup. Instead, I got caught in what can only be described as a culinary fever dream. As I entered, a man in a trench coat whispered, "Don't order the sourdough bowl--it's how they track you." Naturally, I ordered it. Just as I sat down, a goose--not a customer, a literal goose--burst through the doors wearing a Panera apron and started honking aggressively at the soda machine. No one reacted. Not even the staff. I assume this is normal at this location. Moments later, a woman dressed like she was from the year 3012 sat at my table uninvited and offered to trade me "three digital muffins" for my baguette. I said no. She vanished mid-sentence. As for the food? The soup was lukewarm, the sandwich had slightly too much mayo, and the iced tea was absolutely perfect. I love Panera Breads ingredients, and when made properly, I love the tuna salad sandwich. I have gotten the sandwich several times now and really liked it! Last night I got a tuna salad sandwich and a tomato soup, the sandwich had a RIDICULOUSLY SMALL amount of tuna salad on it! It was total a joke! It also had very little greens on it, hanging out of one end! It was a VERY poorly made sandwich! Whoever is skimping this much should be fired! The tomato soup was excellent though! read more

Zero stars but because yelp doesn't let you just post a review. You get one star Panera, went to order a grill cheese sandwich. This is what they gave me. Did not look nothing like the menu picture. I told the cashier I wanted it toasted. And they gave me a soggy cheese sandwich. Really! She told me to come back tomorrow morning to make a return. She didn't even want to make it right. One extremely small piece of turkey that didn't even cover 1/2 of the bread, a tiny spread of browned avocado, an old watery slice of tomato & a piece of wilted, brown on the ends lettuce. My husband went and picked up dinner. The salad was limp and old and they didn't add the salad dressing to my salad. The turkey chili was tasty but much runnier than at other Panera's I have visited. We used to love them for their fresh healthy meals but they are no where near fresh and when you drive 20 minutes to get dinner you would hope it would be good. I love Panera bread. Why only four stars? Early on during the pandemic, my husband and I ordered food here, in hopes of helping keep them in business. My salad was very wilty, and nothing like how fresh they normally are. We couldn't bring ourselves to keep buying food here until we knew their operations were close to normal again. I expect with all the supply issues and the destroyed customer base, ordering food had become a nightmare for them. They are busy again, and I have eaten there again without any trouble. read more

I was really looking forward to eating here. Their chicken sandwich looked so good on TV. I was very disappointed with it. The bun on which it's served on was hard and dry. You could hardly taste the chicken. I also ordered mac and cheese, almost $8 and the serving size was ridiculously small. The mac and cheese should be a $2 side order. Normally this place is great, but today not so much. Did Panera change their turkey sandwich? I asked for a half roasted turkey and avocado BLT, no avocado and extra Mayo. The turkey was sliced deli turkey and no extra Mayo. The bacon was so hard and old it almost broke my tooth. The pickle looked like it was stepped on or had a very rough day. I come here for their delicious turkey. Very disappointed and I'm hesitant to go back. The bacon had actually been hard as a rock the past few times I've been at this location. read more

We really enjoy having a bowl of soup and a roll for lunch after shopping. We usually get our soup fairly quickly and the staff who takes our order is always friendly. I ordered 2 energized lemonades 5 minutes prior to closing via the panera app. My account was charged and I immediately called the restaurant to verify my order and let them know I was right around the corner. When I finally got through the voice prompts a woman answered the phone I explained I had ordered and just wanted to verify it was received. She asked my name and said there were no orders. I was trying to let her know I was right outside and trying to just grab my drinks. She again told me she had received no orders, I let her know I was going to check my bank account and I got a notification my order would be ready tomorrow at 7am... She apologized again and said if I was there it'd be different but they're trying to close and hung up on me. I went inside immediately after she hung up on me and I asked to speak to a manager. The woman at the front said I could talk to her, she was the manager and that they were closing. I told her I knew that and she had hung up on me. I asked if I could speak to anyone else she said "no we're trying to wrap things up here." I just let her know I'd contact corporate because my card was charged and I didn't receive my items. I wouldn't have escalated the situation had she just given me my drinks. read more

I've been eating at this location for a few years now, and I've NEVER had a bad experience, until today. I know nobody's perfect, but this snafu easily could've been avoided. My wife placed an online order for curbside pickup. She showed up about five minutes early and notified them of her arrival. She waited over fifteen minutes before someone told her she had to go inside and get the order. That defeats the purpose for curbside pickup. This was still a service even before this pandemic even occurred. On top that, the manager that talked to my wife got within two feet from her and wasn't even wearing a mask, she clearly didn't take social distancing very seriously. When my wife got home and unloaded our bags, our entire order was wrong! It was spelled out perfectly on the receipt taped to the bag, but the staff didn't bother to get it right. My mother-in-law called and complained about this whole thing, and even requested a refund. They told her she had to go back to their location to process the refund. Why they can't do it over the phone remains a mystery. There better be a sizable gift card waiting for her there! This was an unfortunate experience. Panera usually does better. read more

It's Panera Bread. My favorite hangout place during grad school. I was very excited to hear that they were opening a store in Yakima last year. It's a clean, neat place with very nice and helpful employees. They have great paninis, but each time I visit the store I find myself in front of the pastries! I love Panera. Not just because the food is amazing, but because the staff is wonderful. We had a tiny mistake on our order and they went above and beyond to make it right. We felt valued and taken care of. I love the variety of options offered. As a vegetarian I frequently feel limited at restaurants, but not here. The soups are amazing, the sandwiches are delicious, the flat bread is scrumptious, and the salads are divine. And if course, the bread is to die for. Shortly after this store opened we purchased a Mac n Cheese that came with a complimentary piece of chewed up gum and a hair rubber band in it. (Which we didn't find out about until our toddler was actually chewing the gum she found in the bottom of the bowl.) We called to complain, and since nobody would confess to messing up, we were basically accused of trying to scam the store. This was after we had told them that we didn't want anything other than to make sure it doesn't happen again. While accidents happen and I'm sure someone simply spit out their gum and let their hair down, I give this store 1 star based on the reactions of the managers upon contacting the store. Seriously, my child wound up chewing gum she found at the bottom of your Mac n Cheese and you have the audacity to accuse us of trying to scam you out of free food? Not top quality customer service there. That said, maybe management has changed since the store opening and things are running better now.
