The potatoe casseroll was dry and tasteless. I didn't even try the bread it looked so bad. The BBQ sauces are now behind the counter and you have to ask for what you want. My wife had the loaded potatoe. The skin was burnt black on the bottom. There was maybe a teaspoon of sour cream, when I asked for more he hesitated and said he had already added it but he would give me more. I got a teaspoon more. No ice cream machine. We had a wonderful experience trying several items from this location. Everything we ate was hot and delicious with the ribs, pulled pork, and sausage our favs. BBQ sauce had a spicy kick but wasn't overpowering. Placed an order for delivery through uber eats. Our order was delivered missing all our sides for our meals. When I called the restaurant to make complaint, their solution was to have us come in to pick up the sides. That's very pointless to me as to the reason we had the food delivered in first place & if I had wanted to do a carry out & pick up I would have did that to begin with! This to me was very unreasonable because I felt this to be the restaurant & staffs fault for not double check orders before pick up & especially for a third party delivery service pick up too! They offered to refund us for the sides we did not receive, but I feel as if I should have been given complete refund due to fact that we had to eat our dinner without any sides, so how was that even a meal?! I tried to go here for my birthday but it seems the menu has changed and the prices are simply too high to take a family now. The ice cream machine is still gone from covid even after the desperate cries of the public. We ended up going to Red Robin instead because somehow Red Robin now seems affordable compared to Dickeys . Five stars for being consistent and for a chain employees are always friendly. This is my 3rd visit and I've tried it all. I love that they have cold good beer on ice (self serve). While I feel some of their sides are average (slaw and beans) they have other items that are excellent (okra, green beans, Asiago creamed spinach) and a little unique (jalapeño beans & baked potato casserole). The meats of course are their signature and I find them excellent. 3 sauces: original, sweet & spicy. Again, all very good. Top off with good iced teas and FREE ICE CREAM CONE and baby I'm happy. It's a bit of a bummer to see this place get such a bad rap from the prior reviews. We came in on a lazy Wednesday evening when we had a hankering for some meaty deliciousness and what we found was exactly that. It seems that the major complaint this place is that it can take a while to order. We found this to be the case to, however it made sense given that they were actually cooking most of the meat while we are there, rather than having it sit in the refrigerator and then be microwaved. A family meal was something around $45 and fed for adults and two kids pretty easily, with some leftovers. The ribs were as good as we've had anywhere, the brisket was delicious and the pulled pork was a delight! The barbecue sauce is coming sweet, normal and spicy varieties and all were very good. The free ice cream always tastes just a bit better than ice cream that I asked to be paid for as well. The small cups and cones at the end of the counter make it easy to grab a little bit before dinner and a little snack afterwards. While this place certainly has a few shortcomings, we found to be very good and given the relative dearth of good barbecue restaurants in town, this will probably be a place we go on a fairly regular basis. read more

Okay, this place has a lot of room for improvement, but I don't think it deserves the unanimous 1-star reviews that it has gotten so far. Every restaurant has problems when it first opens, while the staff is getting trained. Yes, the wait was far too long, and I too saw people give up and walk out in frustration, but that happens with all new restaurants (just walk 100 feet over to Mod Pizza if you don't believe me). Yes, they were out of ribs, rolls, and roughly half of the sides, but planning for demand is a skill that comes with time. The food is just okay. Some will claim that it is too expensive (I paid $15 for a sandwich, two sides, and a drink), but good/real BBQ is not cheap to make. However, what I had was not good BBQ- the brisket was a dry, crumbly mess, which more closely resembled ground beef than the succulent slices of brisket I'm used to. The baked potato casserole was okay, but I did not care for the green beans. Okay, maybe I am being too generous with 3 stars, but hey, someone invested a lot of time and money into this place, and with some further training and improvements in the quality of the food, it could be a pretty decent place to get some BBQ. read more

BBQ is really tough to do as a quick service restaurant. I want perfectly done meat, but I also want it done now. Dickey's does a pretty good job meeting both convenience and taste! I had gone to a Dickies several years ago in a different city, this one had a pretty similar contemporary western feel! The staff was friendly and the service was quick since we beat the lunch rush. I ordered the Westerner sandwich ($8.75), which comes with two meats. I opted for brisket and the Honey smoked ham. Both turned out to be pretty good choices...... next time I'd probably try something different than the brisket though. For an additional $3.50 you can add two sides. I did this and ordered waffle iron fries and mac and cheese. Both were good but I feel like the portions were a bit slim for the price and probably wasn't worth it. A drink will also run you a couple more bucks depending on what size you get. As you can see, this can start getting pricey for lunch. There is a daily deal that changes every day which is $8.99 and includes a drink. After you order your food you can get three different types of BBQ sauce, sweet, regular, and spicy. I'm a big fan of the spicy BBQ sauce. It's not overly spicy but it does have a little kick. The real surprise the star of the show was the free self serve ice cream at the end of dinner! The food is fantastic as usual, however, upon inspection of our order in the truck (we check often lately because of the lack of attention to accuracy to the "to go" orders as they are handed to you for take out) we find there is a missing slider (my son's choice for supper). Within minutes of leaving the restaurant my wife is back inside inquiring about the missing slider. The owner (don't know her name though she was identified to my wife by an employee) was extremely rude and disrespectful about the claim and had one of her employees accompany my wife to the truck to check our bags. Basically called my wife a liar and potentially a thief....All this over $6 bun with some chicken and cheese in it and we spent almost $100 just minutes earlier!! Needless to say we like to support our local businesses in our fair town, but is becoming increasingly harder when the bitch of an owner calls your wife a liar at the drop of a hat. (They did forget the slider by the way and an employee made one apologizing the whole time to my wife). My family and I love the food at Dickies and frequent the establishment on a fair many special occasions and spend upwards of $100 every time. (Not always easy to do with today's high dining prices). The owner's attitude and customer service can definitely make or break a place despite the employee's best efforts to succeed at the same. Just think of all the health and not to mention safety common sense rules that were totally ignored when she sent her employee out to the parking lot with a stranger. We are here visiting our daughter and granddaughter. While my granddaughter would normally be cooking our Thanksgiving dinner, this year was different. Our daughter was undergoing major surgery so everyone was focused on caring for her. I started to search for a complete dinner that we could bring. We were prepared not to get a great dinner, just something. Our hotel gave us a few flyers but none of the restaurants had any info about a thanksgiving dinner on their websites except Dickeys. They had a lot of options, we decided on the smoked turkey with all the fixings. The food was plentiful and delicious! The turkey was smoked perfectly and it was moist. We lacked for nothing. You got to try this. Here's a tip make sure you have plenty of people because you get a lot of food. Thanks to Dickey's for saving our Thanksgiving. I was so happy with the food I forgot to mention the first face of the business. The service, it was great and friendly. Stopped in to Dickies in Yakima wa. Ordered the rib plate which comes with a bun and 2 sides. I picked fried okra and beans. The beans lacked flavor, the okra was greasy, no seasoning, and tasted bland. The bun was very dense and could only eat one bite. The ribs were baked with little or no seasoning. There were 2 short cut ribs they were so chewy I couldn't eat but more than a couple bites. The other ribs were more tender but bland. I stripped the meat off of one rib and found something disgusting. It was a whole complete rib. Looked like the rib was cut from the very lower part of the ribcage. Half the bone was there but the second half was something white and bendable, it was not bone!! I ordered some spicey sauce that was more vinegar than sauce. Service was questionable. The gal at the counter came over and asked if everything was OK. I told her it was terrible and explained. I asked if she has tasted the rib plate, she said she doesn't eat pork. She asked if I wanted something else, I said no because if they can't get ribs right why would I want a replacement. No refund was offered So I ended up paying over $20 for a meal I couldn't eat. I should have had a hint when I walked in the restaurant and it had a off putting smell from the baking meat. Not going back and would never recommend this horrible place to anyone. read more

I'd been to Dickey's a couple of times in the past and had mixed experiences. When a coupon showed up in my mail for a buy-one plate, get one plate for free, I decided to give them another try. I'm a cheapskate. I go, order, and get my food from less than enthusiastic workers, but whatever. When I go to pay, the cashier tries to charge me for the second sides, although the coupon clearly says "free plate." When I tell her she needs honor the coupon that she GETS MAD AT ME. When I ask to speak to the manager, she tells me "I'm the manager." Then, she opens up the register, and slams down the difference on the counter. So disappointed in the service provided by the manager of the place. If your company is going to send out a mass-mailing you need to honor it. read more
