But we decided to sit in the larger tasting area that has their wines, barrels etc. They also sell seasonal vegetables at the bar which is a nice touch. They offer olive oil tasting but I didn't want to mix wine and oil so we didn't try the olive oil but I will definitely go back for that. They had many olive oil products for sale - soap, lotions etc. We were greeted by 2 hostesses who offered us a choice to sit at the bar or the tasting room and we choose the tasting room, it had a better ambience. We went on a Tuesday late afternoon, just before they closed at 5pm and we had the place to ourselves. The tasting room has room for at least 50 people without it feeling crowded. You get a choice of 7 tastings for $15 and you can pick what you would like to taste and we picked all whites. We had the 3 white and rose, 2 reserve whites (chardonnay and Sav Blanc) and 2 sweet wines. I am not a fan of Sav Blanc or sweet wines but the ones we tasted were very good. Their chardonnay was well worth the trip by itself. The hostess was friendly and knowledgeable and very engaging. I took one star off for the pours, they were very minimal but delicious. We bought wine and they let us bring over food from Cafe Aquatica (two doors down in the same building), as long as we removed our food trash. Very cool of them! It was quiet at the wine bar when we were there, but I imagine it's livelier when they have live music going on. Their back patio area connects to Cafe Aquatica's, so we enjoyed the music coming from there. Staff were super friendly and kind, telling us about the smaller production, local wines they offer. I enjoyed a glass of Sauvignon Blanc while soaking in some sunshine and river views. Friendly dogs on leash are welcomed! Cheers Friends!

We tried a number of Chiarito's wines, including the Zin and the Nero D'Avola, which is apparently a Silician wine. It was lush, inky, and just a bit different than anything I'd ever tasted. Will definitely have to visit Chiarito the next time I'm in the area!

It was thus a great pleasure indeed to try Chiarito's Nero d"Avola and experience another take on Nero d"Avola, the black grape of Sicily. Chiarito's is to die for - in fact one of the most famous chefs in Sicily (and all of Italy) also carries it on his wine list - amazing. It's grown organically (although not certified) and dry farmed - yet another reason to love this wine. I've bought a case recently of both the Negroamaor and the Nero d'Avola and will certainly be going back for more! The winery is not really open for tours but is a very wonderful place to visit. The wine club has a great party each year!
