My partner knew exactly what she wanted - Pineapple Cauliflower Salad22 (Crispy Asian cauliflower, mixed greens, cabbage, carrots, peanuts, crispy rice noodles, sesame seeds, crunchy garlic, pineapple pico, green onions, and edamame with a Basil-lime vinaigrette 1/2 Cauliflower salad). I had a bite and it was very flavorful. The cauliflower looked like orange chicken. This dish is vegan btw. I was torn between the fish and chips and the Jalapeno Bacon burger. The server said it was a favorite earlier so I went with it. (Grilled Short Rib, Brisket, Chuck patty served on a toasted brioche bun with melted cheddar cheese, bacon, fried jalapenos, lettuce, tomato, and onions with our overloaded sauce). Man was this good! The burger was juicy, the thick cuts of bacon and the sauce. Everything complimented one another nicely. They make their ketchup in house throughout the week. You can tell too! It has it's own flavor that outdoes regular ketchup. The fries were crispy, lightly salted and just enough. Service was friendly. We were checked on throughout our meal to ensure the food was good and so were we. They do offer a rewards program we signed up for. This is definitely going to be a go to spot for us. We bought wine and they let us bring over food from Cafe Aquatica (two doors down in the same building), as long as we removed our food trash. Very cool of them! It was quiet at the wine bar when we were there, but I imagine it's livelier when they have live music going on. Their back patio area connects to Cafe Aquatica's, so we enjoyed the music coming from there. Staff were super friendly and kind, telling us about the smaller production, local wines they offer. I enjoyed a glass of Sauvignon Blanc while soaking in some sunshine and river views. Friendly dogs on leash are welcomed! Cheers Friends!

Scopa has "Winemaker Wednesdays" in which it invites local winemakers to pour their product by the glass, 1/2 bottle or bottle, and talk about their wine. We tried a number of Chiarito's wines, including the Zin and the Nero D'Avola, which is apparently a Silician wine. It was lush, inky, and just a bit different than anything I'd ever tasted. Will definitely have to visit Chiarito the next time I'm in the area!

It was thus a great pleasure indeed to try Chiarito's Nero d"Avola and experience another take on Nero d"Avola, the black grape of Sicily. Chiarito's is to die for - in fact one of the most famous chefs in Sicily (and all of Italy) also carries it on his wine list - amazing. It's grown organically (although not certified) and dry farmed - yet another reason to love this wine. I've bought a case recently of both the Negroamaor and the Nero d'Avola and will certainly be going back for more! The winery is not really open for tours but is a very wonderful place to visit. The wine club has a great party each year!
