View from our table on the deck, so gorgeous!

We sat outside on their gorgeous lakeside deck for lunch and drinks. Best coconut shrimp we've had in years! This is our new fav place on all of highway 20. The staff of both the bar area and the restaurant are the nicest folks you'll ever meet--I actually forgot something important and the sweet staff person mailed it back to me and wouldn't even accept $ for postage. To die for food and drinks, gorgeous ambiance, and nicest staff ever. Would make a great birthday or anniversary spot

Excellent drinks with the friendless bartenders! Wonder pizza and burgers. [[HIGHLIGHT]]On the shore with fantastic views.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

This my first time with my mom and a friend. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The views are amazing and so is the bar atmosphere.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We sat in the middle of the dining room and the service was so-so. I had to go find napkins at the bar,the cook was very nice, he made sure my mom's mushroom burger was cooked correctly. It would be nice to have a choice of teas as opposed to black Lipton. I had to ask for lemon and no honey was available. As far as the portions mom's burger it was plenty then the fish portions were very small ( 3 pieces) and a ton of fries, the coleslaw is very good. The sever asked us once if we were doing ok. More customers came in so then she was super busy and we were ok and asked for our bill.

We walked in and went to the deck in the back of the restaurant sitting on the lake. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambience was perfect.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It was over 100 degree F. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Each table has giant umbrella over it, so it was comfortable.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Our little dog sat on a chair next to us in the shade.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our server was friendly. We ordered a Crispy Chicken salad and a Mushroom Cheese burger with garlic fries. The salad was an excellent salad. My burger was a half pound burger, it was greasy. The garlic fries was good.

Elevated deck area near the water.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Lovely outdoor area with an elevated deck near the water as well as a grassy area closer to the restaurant.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The hours listed for this establishment are wrong. The correct hours are 11:30 am to 8pm 7 days a week. Service was great. Next time I'll order the burgers or pizza.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Great little lakeside bar and restaurant.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Service was great. Pizza was very good. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Nice views.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Restaurant and bar are separate entities so far as hours and paying the bill.

Best drinks in town! Food was really good as well. Service was amazing! She was really great and friendly! Beautiful outdoor deck overlooking Clear Lake! Great view of sunset

At this place, you pre-pay for food... at least when we visited. And the drinks are paid on a separate ticket at the bar. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Slightly inconvenient, but the atmosphere makes up for it.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]We sat on the upper deck and enjoyed the 85 degree sunset, and the sound of the water.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Friendly staff. We recommend the pizza. Staff are cool with dietary restrictions and subsequent alterations to the food, which was comforting.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Cute little restaurant with lake views.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Service & food were good. I had the Asian chicken salad & my bf had the bourbon burger w/ garlic fries. Both were very good. Burger was a little greasy but still very good. Would definitely recommend

Beautiful views. Meatball sub was delicious with a flavorful marinara sauce. Got the fisherman's catch with fried fish, calamari, and coconut shrimp and was not disappointed. Great deck with chairs and umbrellas to enjoy the lake view while eating. Service was quick and friendly. Thank you!

First off, I don't usually leave reviews, but this place was such a bright surprise I had too. Food was excellent, huge burgers I got the mushroom and swiss and it was cooked to perfection. Went on Mother's Day so it was packed, I will say, they needed more servers on a holiday, yet I will definitely be returning! Drinks yes! Diane's Mai Tai was stellar! The ambiance was fun, relaxed, and a free local band plays every Sunday! I saw some people brought in their own chairs, big dance area and the upper deck has a perfect view of the lake and it's surroundings. Clean bathrooms, clean gorgeous tables on the deck, Manager on duty 5 Stars! Way to go Boathouse Bar, see ya again soon!

I must say, it exceeded all our expectations! We arrived slightly early, and as we waited a friendly gentleman approached us inquiring if we needed assistance. Though the restaurant had not yet opened, he kindly spoke with the staff on our behalf. He invited us to sit in the charming, shaded courtyard. Which was perfect especially since we were accompanied by our sweet Boston Terrier. Our server Kameron was exceptional, attentive, knowledgeable, and delightful. She shared fascinating details about the historic buildings and their connection to the hotel, providing us with a booklet recounting the intriguing story of the Tallman family's legacy. Kameron also recommended the Blue Wings with a sweet-spicy Asian glaze as an appetizer. Without a doubt, the best chicken wings I have ever tasted! Her suggestion was spot on, and we thoroughly enjoyed them. My husband ordered the Fish & Chips, while I savored the Crispy Chicken Salad. Both dishes prepared to perfection. Our dog Winnie was treated to a generous beef dog patty. An impressive patty that left her a very happy girl. Our experience with Kameron truly made us fall in love with Tallman's. So much so that before leaving, I immediately made a reservation for July. The same courteous gentleman who initially greeted us was there to assist with this, offering to reserve a dinner reservation for the evening we arrive. He even offered to show us one of their dog-friendly Main Street Suites. The suite was absolutely stunning. The hospitality we received throughout our visit was exemplary. I am now more excited about our upcoming stay at Tallman's than even our planned trip to the beach house in Fort Bragg. Every member of the staff went above and beyond to ensure a memorable experience. I wholeheartedly recommend Blue Wing Saloon and the Tallman Hotel to anyone seeking outstanding service, exceptional food, and drinks!

We ordered pasta dishes (the Alfredo and the ravioli with white sauce), and both sauces were extremely bland. They were watery, almost milk-like, and had virtually no flavor. It was really surprising because this restaurant used to be known for its great food. We didn't say anything while we were there because it was only about 30 minutes before closing, and we didn't want to be those customers or inconvenience the staff. We simply paid our bill and left. Since the new ownership, it's clear that something has changed. Whether it's the menu, ingredients, or chef, the heart of this place doesn't seem to be the same anymore. It's disappointing because this used to be one of our go-to spots. I hope the new owners take customer feedback to heart and make improvements, because we'd love to see Blue Wing return to what made it so special.

The outside patio looked pretty but it was too windy to sit there. The inside ambiance was more diner style (smelled like it as well unfortunately) and did not match the outside appearance. The clam chowder was hearty and full of potatoes and clams. The highly anticipated brunch burger was a disappointment. Upon arrival, the dish already had a smear of aoli on the side of the plate. Too hungry to wonder if the plate was clean (till after the meal ). The egg was perfectly cooked sunny side up. However, the millionaire's bacon was not thick nor had much flavor. The meat of the burger itself was tasteless and overcooked (asked for medium but showed up well done). When one is told to lower dining expectations in lake county you would have thought for sure one can't go wrong with classic burger... apparently not unfortunately.

The Greek quinoa salad with chicken is effortlessly composed: crisp greens, briny olives, red onion, tender protein, and a generous snowfall of feta that actually means something. The quinoa adds just enough substance to make it satisfying without weighing it down, and the pepperoncinis on the side? A small but intentional detail that elevates the whole plate. Everything tasted clean, bright, and balanced--no heavy hand, no shortcuts. Just quality ingredients allowed to shine. In a world of overworked, overdressed salads, this one keeps it refined--and that's exactly why it stands out.

Wife suggested we try somewhere new and I saw this place on Yelp. Ordered: Fish and chips, Clam Chowder on Bread bowl, Fried Calamari, one beer, one lemonade. The place is an outside place filled with people. Vibe was casual and the lady who help me was nice. I was looking forward to the fish and chips, and these were very disappointing. One plus was that there were huge chunks of fish, and it was a pretty good size helping. However, the fish and batter had very little flavor, and there was very little crispness to it. The fries were ok, but nothing to write home about. Felt like frozen chunks for fish with a meh batter and frozen fries. It was ok, but definitely nothing to write home about. The clam chowder was essentially a potato soup. There were more chunks of potato than there WAS soup. Might as well have ordered potato soup. It was also very much lacking in flavor. The bread was cold, and again, felt like store bought bread that I could have gotten at Safeway. Not good. Now, the Calamari is where I got a surprise. I'm betting there's no way IN HELL that calamari was made or breaded in the restaurant. I'm betting that calamari was bought in a store somewhere and then deep fried. Don't get me wrong, it was the best thing I bought (tasty, peppery, crunchy, with a good dip), but it was so flavorful, I'm willing to BET the same people who made those fish and chips and that clam chowder IN NO WAY could season that calamari that way. That's my logic, and I stand by it. In short, I was hoping to have a good lunch, but left disappointed and let down by the good recommendation on Yelp. Unlikely to come back.
