A sweet outdoor wine bar near Cafe Aquatica, overlooking the Russian River. We stopped in recently on a sunny weekend day after hiking Jenner Headlands Preserve. We bought wine and they let us bring over food from Cafe Aquatica (two doors down in the same building), as long as we removed our food trash. Very cool of them! It was quiet at the wine bar when we were there, but I imagine it's livelier when they have live music going on. Their back patio area connects to Cafe Aquatica's, so we enjoyed the music coming from there. Staff were super friendly and kind, telling us about the smaller production, local wines they offer. I enjoyed a glass of Sauvignon Blanc while soaking in some sunshine and river views. Friendly dogs on leash are welcomed! Cheers Friends! read more

We tried to go there on Saturday, 1/17/26, and it was closed (along with the cute gift shop it was connected too). Windows were covered with paper so you couldn't see in, but no signage anywhere saying it was closed that we could see. We called the phone # and it seemed to go to a personal voice mail. The best thing about this place is the view, and the service was great! However, do not expect to be able to taste a few wines for a flat price. You pay either by the glass or bottle. Food can be purchased a couple doors down, and do NOT expect a proper restroom; there is an outbuilding nearby with toilet paper but no wash sink, so be sure to use the restroom before coming OR bring your own supplies. There was fun music, but then a singer started singing at the food place and it kinda clashed. Finally, we each had a red wine and maybe we just didn't get the right ones. It's a cute place to stop but we probably won't go back. read more

I love this place. My wife and I really enjoyed the wine selection, the person who served us behind the counter and especially the location. Sipping wine and watching the fog slowly roll in and out, watching kayakers in the water was a perfect Sunday afternoon. The live chello music playing in the background was a nice enhancement to the ambiance. What was not a positive to the afternoon was the eccentric older lady pestering all the patrons to tip the cellist. I don't think she is associated with the business itself and if she is then a note to them that she's damaging the calm that you've worked so hard to provide your patrons. read more

Staying across the street at the Jenner Inn we had limited options due to Covid for food and drink. After some pizza in Duncan Mills we stoped at this delightful wine bar and had a blast. We spent two nights at the Jenner Inn, which is directly across the street. Enjoyed two glasses of delicious Zinfandel sitting in a double Adirondack chair while watching the late afternoon sun set and the river flow by. Wine bar seating is outside on a quaint patio and on the river bank. There is separate seating area for the coffee shop and an alcohol free area for families. There was a DJ playing fun music for the eclectic crowd. It was a very chill and relaxing vibe. Perfect ending to our first day in Jenner. read more

Found this little gem on our way home after a long hike. We decided to sit and watch the sunset. It was perfect. The sky became a beautiful, pink illuminating light and the water was completely still. I travel to jenner quite often for hiking and the beach. I love that I found this little gem to stop by and have a drink as well! I had a blood orange cider and my brother decided to go with a red wine. Shayleen and Blair were the bartenders and I can't say enough of how warm, wonderful and welcoming they are. They recommended me my drink and I loved it! It was the blood orange cider! Wonderful spot to have a relaxing glass of Sonoma county's finest wines. Greg and Gypsy who are the people who run the wine bar, are so kind they make you feel right at home. Tasting By The Sea Wine Bar is a super casual wine bar with gorgeous views of the Russian River and beautiful sunsets. Greg the Tasting Room manager is friendly and very helpful matching your tastes with the wines being offered. There are 3 wineries represented ( Eric Kent, Harts Desire and one I can't recall). As each winery has 5-6 wines there is sure to be something you will enjoy. Sitting on their patio deck with a glass of nice wine is so relaxing. Could have stayed there all afternoon. We didn't have any food but cheese plates are available. If you are in the area be sure to give Tasting By The Sea Wine Bar a try. You will not be disappointed! read more

Based off of yelp reviews and my love for wine and ocean, I stopped by on a lazy Sat afternoon and was not disappointed. The tasting room itself is small maybe a 5 butt room, but you aren't here to be inside, it is the view you want and this tasting room delivers in that regard. You have a very pretty view of the mouth of the Russian River as it pours into the ocean. This location is also the launching spot for many kayakers. This tasting room is next to a small eatery, you can pick of food an enjoy it on the tasting room deck. I found the host Gregory, very knowledgeable and very hospitable, you can tell he enjoys his job. There is a fee per taste I want to say $3 per, the tastes and glasses if you so choose to purchase are measured out. A tad tacky but whatever works. The price per glass was a bit high, but for this setting, I was ok paying roughly $15 per glass...of course price depends on the wine you pick. Parking was no bueno, very limited, had to park across the street in the markets lot, which has a "parking reserved for our customers, you may be towed"...I took the gamble. Great view, great customer service, very nice selection of wines! I would not hesitate to come back. read more

I always say I'm going to leave a review and never end up following through but I felt like I had to on this one. The wine was excellent and the view is incredible. Very low key, relaxed atmosphere and the owners brother was super nice and knowledgeable. I'll definitely be making this a must stop on my next journey up the coast! read more

My new favorite drinking hole by The River that runs into The Sea... Gregory is so warm, friendly, knowledgeable, & professional without being pretentious. A must stop for me whenever I hit the coast. I walked away with 3 bottles of wine; each hand picked & each one beautiful in their own right. I don't even drink whites, but found a White & Rose, that I could drink every day, not to mention the Barbera... We arranged a family trip to Sea Ranch for the weekend and wanted a stop along the way to break up the drive. We chose Tasting by the Sea. It was the perfect way to start our weekend. Greg could not have been more accommodating and just fun to talk to. The wine was good ( Hart and Hooker& Stoner) and the ambiance was better. We will not drive through Jenner again without stopping by and saying hello (and a glass of wine). read more

Gregory and Gypsy are wonderful hosts and their space is nice and cozy. My partner proposed right next door at Cafe Aquatica and we celebrated here with a zinfandel, petit sirah, and bruschetta (homemade by Gypsy) around the fire pit on the deck overlooking the beautiful sunset. This was my second time here and I'd highly recommend if you're looking for somewhere to enjoy some wine with a view and in the company of some real genuine folks. read more

Lovely little place right on Highway 1 in Jenner, I have hardly ever found such passion for wines even when talking to winemakers, the manager tokd me he can pick which winemakers he presents and only takes the best wine from each of them many of which who are only made in very small quantities, after meeting and talking to him I understand why he is in a position to pick an choose. My advice is live a little, take your time ti stop here and drink in the atmosphere the wisdom ofthe sommelier and a bit if wine as well. read more

Great little place with spectacular views and wines and friendly staff and owners who make you feel right at home. What a great spot right next to cafe aquatica. We went there and had a tasting before dinner and enjoyed a glass of wine by the fire pit as we watched sunset over the estuary. You can park in either the aquatica parking lot or the gas station as they are all owned by the same person. Looking forward to visiting again. read more

I don't do a lot of reviews here, but I know that Tasting by the Sea is a new spot, so I felt a duty to let everyone know that it's great. We spent the night at an Airbnb in Cazadero and then went for a hike the next day in Pomo Canyon / Red Hill. Tasting by the Sea was the perfect reward for our efforts. We relaxed with some wine and cheese. The staff was super friendly and the atmosphere on the open air deck is really nice. It's also a good match with the cafe next door. You have a hard time seeing this gem of a place from the PCH because all of the windows and deck look out on to one of the most beautiful views of the Sonoma Coast and the Russian River, trust your GPS and pull in. The first time I stopped, Greggory the proprietor pointed out bald eagles to me and lent me some binoculars, the next time I stopped the pelicans were diving into the water. I enjoy wine but sometimes I like a cold beer and they have my favorite Pilsner on tap too! The husband and wife team of Greggory and Gypsy will make you feel at home the minute you step foot onto the deck. An interesting thing about Jenner is it usually the warmest spot on the Sonoma Coast, I ride a motorcycle up and down the coast almost every week and you can feel the warmth in Jenner. read more

Featuring high quality locally made wines by Eric Kent Wines and Hooker&Stoner Wines. We went for sunset cocktail and owner Greg delivered drinks to table and brought refills while we listened to original musician light up the surroundings, CHILL! It is like walking into the Jenner sunset with a provider of local wine/beer caring if you want a drink as the Sun sets over your Pacific experience. I felt as if I had an underground (locals only) experience, but I was an out-of-towner. Our Beer and Wine came with more information than we could digest which goes to show you, they REALLY care about YOUR experience. The weather was very warm during our visit, so bring appropriate clothing to wear out on the deck and you won't be disappointed.
