Great staff - friendly, attentive and fun vibes here. We loved the focaccia bread, Greek salad with chicken and the meatloaf here is special. Special meatloaf? - Yes. Very unique sauce and a great dish - give it a try.

This place was so good, we went for lunch two days in a row! On both days, my party of two was seated promptly, even at the height of the lunch rush (this place was packed). The staff was super friendly and we never waited very long for anything. On the first day, I got the grilled chicken wrap with their brussels sprouts side. The wrap was warm, tasty, and very filling. The grilled chicken was perfectly seasoned. I enjoyed the brussels sprouts as well, but probably would not order it again. The bacon on it was good, but gave a heavy feeling to it that I was not looking for when I ordered it. On the second day, I got the chicken shawarma with a side Met salad, and we also got the shaved brussels salad as a starter. While I was sick of salad by the time I finished the meal, everything was amazing! The shaved brussels salad had wonderful flavors. Whatever dressing they used on the brussels themselves was great, and paired very well with the fresh parmesan cheese that topped the salad. I also loved my chicken shawarma. The pita was fresh, as well as all the veggies on it, though I definitely could have used more tzatziki. The side Met salad was good, but like I said before, I was saladed-out by the time it got to me. Overall, if you are looking for a great meal in the Lima area, this is the place to go. Based on how busy it was, I am sure the locals would agree. The prices are reasonable, parking is fairly simple (given that this place is located downtown), and the food is amazing!

Back in November 2023, I came to the Met after listening to the Lima Symphony Orchestra. The Met had long been on my list of places to eat, but my family and I decided to finally go after the restaurant was mentioned by the conductor of the symphony during the show. He advised members of the symphony would be there after the show and invited anyone attending to go. I am glad we did. The Met is a restaurant located in what was once the Metropolitan Bank of Lima OH, you can actually see some pieces of what the bank was still inside the restaurant. It is beautiful decorated. The wait was almost non-existent as we were immediately taken to a table. Our server was friendly and patient as we had never been to the restaurant before and it took us a while to peruse the drink and food menus. I was the only one who decided to have an adult beverage as both my brother and my mom got sodas. I, on the other hand, got the espresso martini. It was magnificent. As much as I loved my drink, the food was the star of the show. We started off with some soup/chili. My mom got some chicken soup, while my brother and I both ordered some chili. It was a cold night, and we needed the warmth of those dishes! The chili was flavorful, not too spicy though. My mom adored the chicken soup! Said it was fantastic! For our main courses: my mother ordered the chicken salad croissant with fries, my brother ordered the met tavern burger with a sunny-side up egg and fries, while I ordered the Chicago sausage extravaganza. The food was delectable. Fair warning, the dishes are large and hearty! These will fill you up! Heck, they were so large known of us could eat it all! Coming with a big appetite. By the end of our meal, we were too full for dessert, which is a shame because some of them were very tempting! After we were done, my family and I got to meet the conductor of the symphony and talk to him a bit along with some members of the orchestra. He is a super approachable person, and incredibly talented! Love that he does this and appears here after a show. It was a perfect end to a perfect evening! If you have not been to The Met, you are missing out!

Fun place with great atmosphere, attention to decoration details and lovely staff. My tacos were not good - overcooked disasters really - but I still would go back because of all the other greatness and wonderful cocktails During the winter menu, get the meatloaf. It's amazing. And I never say that about meatloaf

Exceptional! Everything about this restaurant is delightful. The ambiance, the staff, the drinks, the FOOD! Never have had gnocchi so fresh and so delicious! Wish I wasn't just passing through...‍

If there was a choice, I would give this place 4 1/2 stars. Charming old building, friendly atmosphere, very nice wait staff. Food was good too and modestly priced. My husband had the brisket sandwich - piled high with well seasoned shredded brisket ( he doesn't like slabs) and crispy fries. I had the spicy shrimp tacos in lettuce wraps with a Met salad side. Very good. I was impressed by the excellent large cup of decaf coffee. Rarely do you get good decaf in a restaurant. On our way to a show, and will have plenty of time to get there.

I had the pleasure of being able to dine at The Met on two separate occasions while in Lima for work. Both experiences were thoroughly enjoyed. If there's one thing I love, it's a good ole hearty sandwich. Smoked short rib and cheddar cheese stuffed into French onion jam brioche-- say less. The layers of flavor embedded in this monstrosity was ridiculous. On the side I chose the Brussel bites.. chopped browned brussels in a bed of crispy bacon. Perf. For round two I had to go for the famous Met tacos. 4 flour tortillas, 1 each with Sirloin, Chicken, Pulled Pork and Brisket, topped with pico, sour cream, cheese and shredded lettuce. The Met side salad was anything but a side portion. The parmesan peppercorn dressing definitely set the standard for a house-dressing. Very impressed with the quality of food, quality of service and the downright chill vibe The Met has to offer.

Just ok for me. Some of the food is great and some of it I tried to like but just didn't. Interesting menu though, so that is a bonus.

An interesting place, and they are putting together great food and it has 15 beers on tap! I had the Freight Train grilled chicken sandwich. It came with provolone cheese, a mango habanero chutney, crispy bacon and an Asian chili sauce on a nice brioche bun sporting a 318 brand! Ya baby! I also had fries that were coated and delicious. None of this lasted very long! It was great! As Arnold said, 'I'll be back!'

First, when my partner and I checked the online website, the site was down due to an overdue bill…read more When we walked in, they had 3 televisions with Fox News on celebrating a Trump rally. The people working there have never been served by Trump or the right wing agenda, and no one else appeared to be watching the those tvs. It makes no sense why they would have Fox News up anywhere in their establishment. Our server was nice, yet even though the bar was less than 25% capacity, it took 15 minutes to get an overpriced Old Fashioned which was not made correctly. It was far too sweet, had some sort of 7up-like soda in it, and we couldn't even taste any rye bourbon in them. There was too much ice in the glass and the cherries were the cheapest of the cheap. None of the other drinks available looked enticing, especially after that drink. The fried pickles were delicious and I also ordered a PBJ burger. The burger was well done even though I asked for medium rare. The overall taste was very yummy only because there was so much jelly and oily peanut butter to assist the dry overdone burger. The sidewinders were well flavored but could have been double fried to be slightly crispier. Partner also ordered a burger and typically prefers medium well done. Even they thought their burger was too overdone and dry. The floors were sticky and the place smelled like pinesol which was distracting from the food. Even though it smelled like cleaning products, the place felt dirty and sticky, not somewhere I would like to eat. I appreciate the divey, live music in the corner sports bar vibe, but the management and organization seemed off here, like a weird awkward silence. I wouldn't come back unless they make their drink game more professional, there was a very good special on beers, or a particular band I would enjoy seeing here.
