The Met is a unique building downtown Lima. It was built in the late 1880's and was originally home to the The Metropolitan Bank. It has since been morphed into a restaurant with very attractive original features. The wood floors and plaster ceilings...along with the attractive decor really enhance the dinning experience! The team here is very friendly, professional and welcoming. Ashley was outstanding. She hustled, knew her menu and had great recommendations. Ashley was very attentive and helped us enjoy the evening. I appreciated Liz stopping by and welcoming us. Liz shared lots of history and helped us appreciate the facility. The Met has a large food menu that has something for everyone. They have a large selection of beverages and specialty cocktails. All at reasonable prices. We started with a couple of Mule drinks. One was a designer St. Patrick's Day Mule and their specialty Met Mule. Both were very tasty, cool and refreshing . We started with the Focaccia bread appetizer. It had a lightly golden/chewing top with a soft and moist inside. Liz said that they make the bread fresh three times a day. The bread had a slight olive oil taste with a mild amount of Italian herbs. The soft whipped butter was a nice add. The side salad had lots of fresh spring greens. There was a few tasty tomatoes and lots of stronger tasting onions. The thin Parmesan cheese shreds were an excellent touch. The house ranch dressing was very smooth/light/creamy moderately thin with a mild ranch taste. My wife had the chicken bacon ranch flatbread. The crust was thin and crispy. She really liked the ranch house made sauce and how it accented the meat toppings. I had the Met Meatloaf which had an outstanding meat flavor. The meat was made with Italian sausage which had a slightly spicy kick. It was moist and tender to go along the beefy taste. The smooth red sauce on top was slightly sweet & spicy. It accented the meat nicely. The mashed potatoes were real with lumps, eyes and minute peel pieces. Very smooth and delicious! The grilled asparagus had a slight crisp to go along with the tender stalk. Not much seasoning detected...just a nice olive oil taste. Overall a fantastic dinner experience. We sat street level and watched the pedestrians come & go while enjoying the decor of this unique facility! The menu is large and the food and drinks are outstanding. A special trip to The Met in downtown Lima is worth a try!

They had a special wine list for the event. I love sparkling wines & the Cava from Spain was fantastic! Sitting at the bar the Joui team took care of everyone so efficiently. I also enjoyed a glass of Champagne & finished off with an Aperol Spritz. Their wines to go selection is great & I picked up one of my favorite natural wines Meinklang from Austria to take home to enjoy. I can't wait to visit again soon.

The owner educated our group of 50 on unique wines of the area. The talk was SO fascinating! I can't express how wonderful this book winery is!!! The rich history of the area, building and grapes! Highly Recommend!! I can't wait to return here soon to purchase more of their tasty wines and bring my friends along too! A+

They were playing some kind of dice game that cost a dollar to join and if you roll a certain amount of dice you can win a free drink. The people at the bar ended up buying everyone a turn so of course we did to. The guy sitting near me, recommended a Creamsicle kind of drink, which was good, but I think I'll stick to my regular order. After looking at the menu, I decided to get Chunk N Dunks which is a thin layer of breading on a chicken nugget. It was very good, I got a side of ranch and a side of California gold after the recommendation of Nick, our bartender. My mom got a quesadilla that was FANTASTIC. After we ate, Nick offered to show us around the bar as it was pretty closed off since it had just snowed. During the summer, they have live music and a swim up bar that can hold around 200+ people. I cannot wait to come back to town for some shows and to meet new people as everyone around was so friendly. They also had a pool table and some games inside for people to be entertained during the winter. According to their website, they have a lot of activities going on including bingo, pool and darts and much more. Thank you again, Nick for showing us around.
