I was taken here for my birthday. I got a fine massage but the person who I went with is allergic to nuts, as many people are and they were unable to give her a treatment of any sort because of all their products contained nuts. They were unwilling to improvise to accommodate us and did not even think to offer her a massage without lotion/oil or to run downstairs to the pharmacy and buy so Jergens. In addition to being unable to give my friend her treatment they tried to charge her for it! This was an awful experience and I would not recommend that anyone go here EVER nor would I consider returning myself. read more

The Met is wonderfully located and each time I've gone my experience has been A+. I visit for the Day Spa. My massage therapists are always professional, courteous and very qualified. I always leave The Met feeling refreshed, relaxed and ready to meet the day. I enjoy relaxing in the sitting area after my massage; it's a lovely atmosphere and the entire personnel are very warm and friendly. I highly recommend The Met Day Spa. read more

Beautiful spot. The staff is welcoming and friendly and the spa is clean and well appointed. I had a massage and a mani/pedi - both excellent and expected price points. No sauna, steam, or bath, but that did not detract at all - mentioning it only in case folks are wondering. The only disappointment was the lack of the enforcement of "no cell phone use" - lots of people happily chatting away - took away from the relaxation of the experience. I have always enjoyed shopping at this store but finally enjoyed the day spa. I had a massage and facial and enjoyed them both. The treatment rooms are very nice. I wish that the waiting area was a bit larger and more private (very close to the manicure and pedicure area so there is traffic and noise). The prices are so reasonable! My sister-in-law & I had an amazing shopping experience at The Met just after Thanksgiving! We were in town visiting family & wanted a shopping excursion. Clara Villanueva greeted us right away & was SO helpful & inviting! Clara went above & beyond to help us--make us feel at home--and with our brood of people to boot. :) She offered great suggestions for me with my outfits & made it easy for me by suggesting we mail the items back to Denver. All of my items arrived perfectly last week & I'm OH SO HAPPY about them. I will MOST definitely make it a point to schedule myself for some shopping time there (& with Clara hopefully) upon my return to Sarasota. You've created such a lovely experience there! Erika Mudafort at The Met Salon is INCREDIBLE for COLOR and CUTTING. Erika took me from JET-BLACK to a pretty caramel blonde without compromising the condition of my hair. She's extremely nurturing and cares about the condition of your precious locks. I love her because she's creative, but always makes sure that whatever your desired look is it's always flattering to you. She's the perfect stylist for the fashion-forward girl as she studies popular trends, and understands all of my model/actress references! She also gave me "The Karlie" chop, which is the hottest hairstyle of the moment, and now all my friends want the same cut! Besides being a great stylist, she's a ton of fun. The Met is a beautiful place, and they always offer you some champagne while your getting beautified! This is a review for Raquel of The Met's salon. She is such an artist - Raquel has done my hair and makeup several times and I always get SO MANY rave reviews. Horrible customer service. My daughter and I walked into what looked like a lovely boutique. My daughter liked a piece of jewelry in a case and we wanted to see it. We spoke to the woman at the makeup counter (Nina) and rather than help us she was extremely rude and said well I'm in makeup and we're closing in a half hour so let's see if someone can help you. She refused to find the right person to help us. Another man in the Men's department came over and said the jewelry belongs to someone else and basically said he couldn't show it to us. Finally Cindy came over and answered our questions. There are some beautiful things in the store but with such poor customer service we'll take our business elsewhere. read more

I found the staff at the Met to be very professional and friendly. They wanted me to relax from the moment I got there and created a casual environment for me to wait for my massage in a big comfy chair and a mimosa. My masseur Christopher was one of the most talented I have ever had, and I have had quite a few in both Europe and the States. However now want to share my disappointment with The Met spa on Saint Armand's. 1st do have to share that I was using gift certificate that my husband gave me about 2 years ago & I called to confirm last year & again before I booked for my B-day services and was told they do not expire. I enjoyed the "getaway package" purchased by my sweetie, which also included gratuity. However, I was went to check out, was informed that the cost of the package was now quite a bit more! Needless to say, all the lovely pleasure now went to raising my blood pressure. I feel I should have been told when I booked that my older gift certificate would now be worth less & prepared to pay the difference. I might have chosen a different array of services. After disputing and front lady going to back to check, was told that they would honor the service package, but not the added gratuity. Knowing that those do did my services should not be penalized by this development, went ahead & gave them my credit card for $50+ to cover this. Very disappointed and will NOT be going back there again. read more

I had an amazing experience at the Met Salon today. Heather was my stylist and I couldn't be more happy with the level of service. Everyone there was super attentive and right on time. I didn't wait more than 2 minutes for Heather to come get me and she was excellent. She made my experience so enjoyable and she did an amazing job. I would highly recommend this place. Awful customer service a total scam. No effort made to explain the product I purchased. When I went back to say there was something the Spa manager laughed at me and said "oh you must have over used the product". Seriously is that a way to treat a paying customer? They should be ashamed of the lack of service. No sympathy was shown or effort to contact the company that made the product. There were NO instructions in the box and no effort when selling me the product to be sure I used it properly. This is suppose to be the Hospitality business I think they failed! read more

Today, I stopped by The Met for its annual garage"sale". Let me start off with saying that the majority of clothing in this place is 50 and up,and the small amount of stuff they did have for me hardly fit.After searching for about an hour I found a pair of pants and one blouse,it all started when I noticed the same woman was constantly behind me.First,I thought we had the same taste but soon I realized after a period of time she actually work there and was following to make sure that I wasn't stealing(At that point I realize it was time to go). I got to the register and there was a lady in front of me and three women behind me.I waited for about five minutes for the lady to cash out and as I put my things up on the counter the three women behind me pushed past me to the register,and the women acknowledged them instead of me,by Beginning a conversation with them,and turning her back to me. I'm in completely ignored me. I waited for a few more minutes thinking this might be a mistake but after about three minutes and the women constantly joking turning her back and completely looking through me I realize that she didn't actually want my business . Now I've heard that the women at The Met are called the "C's of the Circle." But didn't realize until now why. I'll give you a hint it's a four letter word. I will never return and will make it a point to never have anyone I'm associated with either. read more

The staff was very professional, yet fun, the spa was very relaxing, and the prices were extremely reasonable. I would definitely go back. I actually plan to get gift certificates for family members. I am in Sarasota from out of town and was looking for a nice day spa. Both the Met and the Ritz were recommended to me as the best options in Sarasota. When I looked at the pricing, the Ritz's prices were really off-putting. The Met's prices were more reasonable, so I booked there. The staff was about as courteous as you can get without being fake. They really were a pleasure. The services were wonderful as well- I had a facial with Jodi, a massage with Jim and my hair cut and styled by Ali. I had a great time and left relaxed. Had a very bad experience where we had 4 people with appointments for 2 services each and an employee didn't show up! The were offered a glass of water and told they had to wait an hour for their next appointment. I even contacted the owner and he said he would look into this and get back to me and after 30 days he did not get back to me. Poor way to run a very high end day spa! read more

Erika Mudafort is the best in the industry. I have worked with many stylists for photoshoots and she is by far the most talented and caring for my needs. I look forward to working with her again! WoW Erika M is a hair Goddess!! I am very ocd when it comes to my hair and I just recently moved. I needed a cut and color and a friend referred me to Erika, I was very nervous to go to anyone new. She put me at ease right from the start... by the time it was over my hair looked better then when my previous hair dresser did it!!! This is why I'm posting this review. Last year, my best friend and I treated ourselves to facials...unbeknownst to them I had my 11 year old daughter with me and I didn't realize that they request that young children stay home for the tranquility of the spa. (totally understandable). They didn't blink an eye, I asked if she could get a spa manicure while we were in our facial appointments and didn't hesitate to make her as comfortable as any other patron. We were treated with total respect and courtesy. Drinks and snacks were offered and provided. The facials were heavenly, my daughters nails were beautiful and we all parted ways with smiles on our faces. I cannot recommend highly enough to go to this spa!!! I didn't find the prices too high, they are quite competitive for a higher end spa and they are worth every penny. My husband bought a spa package for me for my birthday and we are buying one for our oldest daughter for receiving her masters degree. We hope to go in the next couple of weeks or so.
