There's really nothing you can do to improve other than clothes $4.95 for 10 greasy soggy hush puppies and thank God we only stuck with appetizers because the edamame taste like fish and not good fish. We received really good service during our visit. We decided to try the "Special B" for $38.99. Overall, the food was decent and the flavor options were solid, though I've had seafood boils with a bit more flavor elsewhere. It was my first time having mushrooms in a seafood boil, which was an interesting twist. I'd be open to visiting again and trying a different combination. I was skeptical on coming here when looking at these reviews. This style seafood boil is pretty standard where I'm from, the coast, and it's one of my favorite foods so I've had it everywhere I've traveled in the US. I figured maybe Arkansas doesn't have access to good seafood based on the reviews. To my surprise, I had no complaints and I thought the food was great, even being a huge seafood fanatic. Our server was super friendly and pleasant as well. I'm pretty indecisive so I kept asking for suggestions to choose between two options, and our server was helpful. He even refilled our drinks when they were still half full. The reviews on here were not at all what I had experienced. I assume people may not be accustomed to seafood boils, with the food being served in plastic bags and 0 silverware etc, but this is pretty standard to me. After skimming this yelp and with my pretty pleasant casual dinner, I felt like I had to go write this review and do the restaurant some justice. LOL no complaints here! read more

Overall this place was a decent experience. I can't say it's a place I'd come back to for seafood, though. First off, if you do the fresh seafood it comes served in a steam bag which is awkward to eat out of if you're trying to not make a mess. Second, ordering the half pound options leaves much to be desired, especially for the price. I felt like I didn't get a whole lot of food (I ordered the calamari and the black mussels). Third, their bartender was off for the day so they weren't able to serve cocktails which was a disappointment. That being said, the calamari was delicious. I got my food spiced mild with the mighty crib spice special. The mussels were good too but I got 4 that were not open. My wife, her friend and I came to the Lakewood restaurant for a birthday dinner. All 3 of us ordered dungeons crab, when the orders came out their order was proper size and type, mine was snow crab and weighed half of theirs. I told the waitress, she took it back and told me it was correct, I asked for the manager, he comes out and told me they should feel lucky they got more than I did. I told him that mine was not dungeons he said that it was and would not hear anything about adding more or giving me dungeoness, we barely make money now..... Omg this was my first time at a place like this and it was so good! Had snow crab, it comes with corn and potatoes and I added sausage. You can choose what flavors go in your butter, they have garlic, lemon pepper and Cajun and I did all three. Then you choose your spice level. I went with medium. Omg it was so dang good! First time trying the restaurant. (Went to the North Little Rock location) The spicy was actually spicy. Yay. But it was not very seasoned. (I actually had to add salt and I prefer not to add salt to cooked seafood) By far, actually the best seafood I have eaten in Little Rock. The seafood, egg, corn and potatoes were cooked to perfection, again, complaint is lack of seasoning and it was a little greasy. *I did NOT like the sausage because it was more of an eckrich style sausage. *Two of the shrimp did taste spoiled (or really off) right in the middle of the bag. It was weird but I didn't have a tummy ache or anything afterwards. *North Little Rock location didn't have the gumbo so didn't get a chance to try it. Overall, if you want seafood, head on Over. By far much better than my last visit to Joe's Crab Shack. Our server Calvin was 100% on top of things the whole night and took great care of us. Everything we ordered was fantastic. Started with their calamari which was great paired with their 2 sauces. For my entree I got the shrimp & sausage combo. Flavor and Prep were spot on. Service was horrible waited 10 minutes to be seated even though there was nobody in the place except for a few people waiting on Togo orders. Waitress was Alexia and she was high as a kite tried to order a special but did not want crawfish asked if I could get it without crawfish and her response was oh we don't substitute here but didn't explain that I could make my own boil. so I stated give me chicken wings until my buddy ordered his own boil and I asked oh I can do that and she stated yea I said ok cancel the wings and give me this. Our food was delicious and our server was wonderful. We had a large group and everyone was pleased. We never waited for refills and our food came out fast. We were in and out in about an hour with a group of 10. We had snow crabs legs, shrimp, black mussels, crawfish, fried catfish, fried shrimp! Everything was great. Corn was a little over done but since the boils all come in a bag that would be hard not to do. Potatoes were good! Cajun friends remind me or rally's fries. They were yummy. My experience was similar to Katie T. and the first 3 reviews i saw. I ordered 1/2 of crab legs and s1/2 spice stemmed shrimp. Ya, the whole bag delivery threw me. The shrimp was very good, the crab not so much. Our waitress I think was a beginner, very difficult to here over the rap music. very slow service.
