She was wonderful to work with leading up to our son's birth, and worked with me to manage my stress and expectations, and to give me the information, time, and space to come up with a plan for our birthing preferences for my second child's birth (paying particularly close attention to my fears and anxieties from my first birthing experience). She was so encouraging and reassuring, handling many anxious phone calls and texts from me! I also credit the successful VBAC experience to Chiminh! She was incredibly informative and encouraging, leading up to labor and working hand in hand with my OB and nurses during the delivery process. She provided emotional support to me (and my husband), continually offered advice on how to get comfortable, what to do to help progress labor naturally, different pushing positions to try, and overall reassurance throughout the process (even with some highs and lows). Nursing has been anything but easy, and because our daughter is so tiny I have felt nothing but pressure for her to gain weight as quickly as possible... very difficult when breastfeeding is proving difficult. The onset of vasospasms so painful that it felt like a cigarette burning me straight through to my shoulder blade finally led me to make an appointment with My Pure Delivery. First of all, it was not covered by my insurance because Blue Cross Blue Shield sucks. But every dollar I paid out of pocket was worth the time they spent with me to ensure I felt comfortable utilizing the strategies they helped me master with their help. Additionally, they allowed me to come back periodically to weigh her at no additional cost so that we could monitor her weight without paying for yet another doctor's visit. We worked through latching, pain, and supply issues, and Rika was always right on the money with her assessment and advisement. I really started to hit my stride with breastfeeding around 8 weeks postpartum, and my now 3 month old latches like a champ, pain-free! My baby LOVES the BFS office on Parmer lane, and is always in such a good mood when we go, maybe it's the great lighting? Or the vibe. Regardless, I always feel so much more positive leaving my BFS appointments than when I came in. If I ever have a 2nd child, I will be sure to book an appointment with an ICBLC prenatally to discuss my goals and help get me started on the right foot. As I've learned, the first days postpartum are absolutely critical to milk production.

At the hospital, I was able to produce some milk and wanting to optimize my production, I made an appointment with Kristin at Breastfeeding Success. First, I never had to wait in the waiting room. The woman at the front desk always greeted me with a smile and showed me to my room. The office is relaxing, cute, comfortable, and clean. Kristin is AMAZING and so empathetic (and hilarious). I rented a hospital grade pump from them which was so helpful. I feel like I really understand the science behind lactating now, which not only helps me now but also helps me down the road so I can troubleshoot if I run in to any issues. After talking to multiple different mothers, medical professionals, dulas, and midwives I have realized that my experience was even worse than I originally thought before I had anything to compare it to. My experience was so awful that it isn't even about the money, but that was definitely wasted too. Again, after talking with other mothers, doctors and midwives, I feel that I was extremely cheated in many ways. My biggest mistake was not changing care providers along the way when I was seeing several red flags...I made so many excuses for my negative experiences. Not counting myself I had 3 people unaffiliated with Sandra at my birth for support, all of whom did not have great things to report about her once I was recovered and able to process the experience. Sandra's center is an unorganized mess (clean in terms for filth but not clutter) and was during my entire pregnancy. Her personal organization of medical equipment and files is a mess. Her "resources" are a mess. Her website is poor and outdated. She lacks a lot of common sense and the ability to think critically. Her bedside manner is awful and she has no respect for any opinions or lifestyles that she does not personally agree with. She also has a serious inability to accept any personal accountability which is probably my single biggest issue when it comes down to it. There are no good reviews in the recent years-all of "her" best reviews were when she was at a different location and with a partner, hmmm, wonder why that is. I want to be clear that I am not speaking for any of Sandra's students as they are just trying to learn, independent of her, and were not the problem. I am also not speaking for any of the independent business or individuals that she works with/recommends. My issues are all with Sandra herself. She should not be running her own practice. Now I also want to be clear that I do not think she is an awful person, and maybe in the past it was different, but for whatever the reason where she currently stands is a quick to judge, short tempered, slow to think and adapt, inconsiderate, extremely unorganized, probably overstretched, and out of date with modern resources person, let alone as a midwife running a full time practice.

Every person my husband and I interacted with was kind, considerate, and incredibly knowledgeable. Sunshine was my birth doula, and even though we hadn't met prior to delivery, I can honestly say she was the best money I've ever spent. She helped me feel empowered throughout my induction--which was not my ideal scenario--and made sure I felt like an active participant in my birth, not just a "good patient." When the nursing staff was unavailable or less than ideal, Sunshine stepped in to help me find more comfortable positions and to encourage and educate both me and my husband during the toughest moments of labor. I cannot recommend her or ATX Doulas enough and would choose them again and again.

I have nothing but the utmost appreciation for the ladies at My Pure Delivery. I had a hard time…read morenursing my first: not the right education, support system, naive thinking I could put him on the boob and everything would magically work. Boy was I wrong! When I got pregnant with our second, my midwife told me about MPD being a great resource. I set up an appt with them to go over my short lived journey with my first and they gave me some good info on what to look out for and try this time around. I should mention took this was in 2021, the middle of COVID. All of my appts were virtual. I personally felt that was easier for me because I didn't have to go anywhere. After baby #2 arrived, we had an appt scheduled for the day after he was born and another one at some point after that I think. They also helped me learn how to use a pump properly and how to pump for getting extra milk saved for returning to work. They did advise me that if at any point that I felt like I needed to switch to formula that they would help find one that worked for us. It was never a need this time around, but the fact that they were so kind and nonjudgmental about it made me feel at ease. My LC (not associated with MPD) with my first wasn't helpful in that department and really frowned on it but wasn't supporting me the right way in my journey. My son was born 9/8/21 and just a few nights ago 10/4/24- he was officially weaned from nursing. Just over 3 years and 3 weeks of nursing my 2nd. And although, it is a VERY bittersweet moment, I am grateful to the ladies for giving us the support they did. I never imagined I'd nurse this long. They made me feel empowered, safe, & cared for without judgement. In those early postpartum days, those positive feels are crucial. Thank you My Pure Delivery!

Diba was there for me when I was in tears over breast feeding. She and her staff, thoughtfully, came up with a plan that got things on track. Breast feeding now is enjoyable.. instead of the toe curling experience I had before their advice. As an added bonus they accept medical insurance. Best call I made was to Diba and My Pure.
