Well the service was great at the ice cream shop but unfortunately the ice cream was no Bueno. The ice cream was old, as in it had those ice crystals in it and had that freezer burn taste to it. (those who have had ice cream in the freezer for half a year no exactly what I'm talking about) There are tables outside, where you can sit in the inside is pretty nice as well.

At tourist attraction, food can ofter times be mediocre. They know they have you, and they know visitors will order regardless of reputation. The Miners Grill is NOT one of those establishments. The Miners Grill is bringing quality food with quality service. Menu is posted on the wall. Prices are reasonable. Portions are generous. Orders are placed at the order window. The person who took our order was pleasant, as was the person who gave us our order. They run the kitchen like a well oiled machine. The restaurant was busy. Our number was called in about 10-15 minutes. The grilled chicken sandwich was tender and juicy. Sourdough bread was toasted to a golden brown. Bread wasn't greasy. We were offered ketchup, mustard and ranch. I added mustard to the chicken sandwich. I would happily eat that sandwich again. My children enjoyed their miner burgers and grilled cheese. Produce on the chicken sandwich and miner burgers were crisp and fresh. Fries were hot. They were soft inside with a light crisp to the outside. The person who ordered the chicken strips thought they were just okay. Chicken strips were dry. Seating is outside. Patio is primarily covered. Rustic wooden picnic tables, with the classic red and white checked tablecloths.

The hard working staffers were scooping up tasty Shamrock Farms brand ice cream which made for the perfect treat when visiting the Goldfield Ghost Town. The ice cream shop is attached to a window ordering snack bar (miners grill). While the space was limited inside there was ample seating up front outside and in their back patio area. Highlights: Spumoni Ice Cream (Chocolate, cherry, pistachio). House made waffle cones.

Enjoying lunch...not one sign indicating off limits.

We visited this place on 01/21/2022 a cool Friday morning with our classroom of special needs students on a field trip. I've been to other similar places in Arizona and in other states. This one showcases the beautiful views of the Superstition Mountains and Organ Pipe catus in abundance...today the Arizona weather was perfect. I must say that buying a cup of Joe at $6 bucks or a scoop of ice cream for $8 on a teacher salary is pricey. That said the area is fantastic, lots of things to see, great picture opportunities....pricey but understandable considering the location. After lots of sightseeing and taking some awesome pictures. We decided to find a nice spot for our group of special needs students to have their lunch. We located a covered area towards the rear of the Ice Cream Parlor and being that it was not closed off...we sat down for lunch. Please keep in mind that other than a few no smoking signs everything pointed that it was open to the public. Twenty plus minutes into our lunch a man came out of the Ice Cream Parlor rear door and asked who was in charge. He then said that "this is my dining area and is not a picnic area-for that you all need to head to the railroad station....NEXT TIME, I WONT BE SO NICE!" he turned around clearly agitated and walked back into the Ice Cream Parlor mumbling some negative comments. We had no chance to say anything as he was quick, rude and to the point. It was a disappointing end to our beautiful, fun filled and enriching morning. Our students had never visited this place and had such a fantastic time. We might of even gone inside to purchase Ice cream if he had not rudly interrupted out morning with his nasty disposition. We left that area, climbed into our school vehicle and stopped for ice cream at a place were customer service is at the top of the list and they are not rude...delicious strawberry Sunday for $2 bucks. Yes, the Costco just a few miles down the road. This is a nice place and fun to sight see...definitely kid friendly. I would just stay away from the Ice Cream Parlor and please-please DO NOT SIT IN THE COVERED AREA AT THE REAR OF THE Ice Cream Parlor...it is not taken lightly. Oh yeah....no comment on the rest rooms as they seemed scarce and on this visit we did not need to visit the restrooms.

If I recall correctly, they served thrifty ice cream years ago, but I was delighted to see Blue Bell ice cream served today. With lots of flavors to choose from! The location is a little quaint inside, but has some great seating outside with great views of the Superstition Mountains. My cousin and I enjoyed the beautiful 72 degree day with our delicious ice cream. We both did my trick that I've been doing since I was a kid, since I'm a clumsy one and don't like wearing my dessert. Order a scoop to be put in a cup, but topped with a sugar cone. Helps avoid the mess, but still get the delicious flavor of a cone. The salted caramel ice cream was my favorite, and shocked at the low price of $2.99 for a scoop of ice cream! We both said we will be back as it is an affordable treat close to home. Check out this place if you are in the area as it would be rude not to treat yourself!

There were three of us in our party, and we were seated inside. The wait was 10 minutes. They have seating outside to wait. Metzy took care of us from start to finish and her service was completely on point, friendly, and fast without ever feeling rushed. We ordered drinks, their famous chili, and burgers, and everything came out incredibly fast considering how packed the place was. The food was awesome. The chili was flavorful and hearty, a must try, the burgers were cooked perfectly and loaded with taste, and the beers were ice cold, exactly what you want on a busy weekend outing. For a spot that's this popular on a Saturday, the combination of quick service and great food really stood out. Given the rating we'd seen beforehand, we were pleasantly surprised; maybe it was our lucky day, but based on this visit, Tortilla Flat Salon deserves a much higher score. We'll definitely be back and will happily recommend it to friends and family.

It deserves THAT. And I feel we all deserve this as well. A potato can be handled well no matter its size and taste fantastic - why can't the steakhouse cooks (imagine the possibility of upping one's gain by studying the art of cooking the perfect potato so as each patron talks about "That dreamy soft potato! When can we all go back?" Up North owners went head to head for the best steak. Now we all KNOW if one place is too busy it's a delight to hit up our second choice. It's not so much about the food then, it's about "Who will not see, or see?" "What kind of music is playing tonight? Do you want to wait to be seated?" Or is it "Honey I don't care. They're all really good!" That's what locals who live here want. A steakhouse we bring ourselves to. Food that keeps us wanting to go even when it's 110° at 6:30pm. If we home cooks can take an average steak and wow our wives or hubbies...so can our local AJ steakhouse. If the owner is tired, I get it. If the cooks are tired, I get it. But I kind of feel like there's no room for subpar meals in this market. I'd rather be told "The great ribeyes are here! Don't be late as we will sell out." "Our salads this week will be memorably upbeat and crisp! How about a little pear slice added with an EVOO & pear BALSALMIC vinaigrette dressing with or with blue cheese and croutons? Trust me, THAT SALAD brings it, brings people, add chicken on top or sliced steak, and I'm there every 7-8 days all Summer long. Mammoth is about breathing. And staring at the mountain. Alone or with someone. About chatting. And meeting up. It's the party place with a view. Or a quiet meetup. I'm unsure who is missing out on more. U.S.? Or 'them.' More sales. Heavier tips. I think it's all possible and doable. Here's the kicker - the steakhouse does not even have to rebrand. It's a good deal. I know not one person who doesn't like flavor. And a smile. Half portion size options on a few items keeps all ages coming back. A plate for two people to share?....one plate. Two forks n knives, no extra charge? Shared by two people who understand the joy & mindfulness lesson other people in countries practice often - is a positive expenditure most couples both young and old. AN Entree box. Plus box 2 for 1 side or 2 sides or 3. A nice piece of bread, 2 options. Where's the historically beloved ranch shredded pit beef dinner, with barracho pinto beans, a potato and tortilla? I'm looking forward to the day. Love this place. It's not wrong to want to see more joy. I sat at the bar alone. With a family member. Invited others. Outside or inside...at the bar. I've talked to some of the long timers of AJ and other natives. Met people from all over. Invest in your people and I predict a happy future together and more lovely conversations. A few big outdoor coolers might not hurt anyone. Even the hard working staff! It might not be historic but.......thats ok from after Easter thru September. Newcomers? Come on by. Try it. Enjoy it. Have a cold beer and some food. Enjoy a traditional cocktail served up your way. Have some fun. It's good. Ask for what you'd love to see on the menu. Leave the owner an idea. Just remember it's a historic atmosphere and venue. I take everyone here. But quality on my plate is still a must. A lamb chop from the good old USA was indeed historical in AZ way back....hint hint. You know they use to run sheep from the Valley up thru the mountains to the Rim in the early Spring? Yes. We have lots if Basque families. My own granddad was a sheep farmer. My Dad a rancher. There's lots of us here Mammouth. Let's show others the way to AZ via your tables, and that pretty bar with the most beautiful of Golden moments highlighting the historic SUPS and Goldfield ranges.

Walking through the doors feels like stepping into an Old West ghost town saloon, complete with authentic antiques, historic relics, rustic wood floors, and enough character to keep you exploring long after you've finished your meal. Now let's talk about the food. The Bison Burger was one of the most delicious burgers I've ever had--perfectly cooked, flavorful, and worth the trip all by itself. The menu is packed with hearty Southwestern and American favorites that fit the Old West setting perfectly. What really makes Dirtwater Springs special, though, is the people. The bartenders and servers bring just the right mix of sass, humor, and genuine hospitality.
