We have been here a couple of times for breakfast. And both times we have had a positive experience. Both times our grandkids had eggs, bacon and plenty of toast and jelly. I have had their pastor omelet. I also have had their eggs, potatoes, and sausage. And enjoyed them both times. Their decor is Indiana University memorabilia, and it hasn't been difficult to get seated during peak hours. read more

Service was great. BPT was tiny absolutely no taste. I got sausage gravy to put on it. horrible. Gravy tasted like gray colored flour. Quite pricey as well. Don't think I'll ever go back. The soda was good is only reason it got 2 stars. read more

If you're a local, you'd probably struggle with how to answer the question, "What is a Hoosier?" Once you walk into this quaint little cafe, you would know it has something to do with Indiana. The walls are adorned with pennants, pictures, and basketball memorabilia from all over the state. My wife and I came here on a Sunday morning looking for a new breakfast experience. The place was pretty empty, so we were seated immediately. After viewing the menu, I decided to try something new and unique. I ordered the fried corn mush with bacon. I have had corn mush before, and it is similar to grits. When it said fried, I guess I had a different idea of what that would be. I was expecting it to be griddle fried and more like a corn fritter. When my order came out, I discovered that the mush was deep-fried. This in itself was not a bad thing. I found the texture crispy on the outside and soft inside. It lacked flavor and left an oily feel in my mouth. A little catsup and Tabasco flavored it nicely. I can't judge this meal as this is the first time having this, so there is no point of reference. I'm not saying the fried mush was bad, just that it's something I would order again. The bacon that came with it was pretty good. I did sample a little of my wife's omelet, and I believe a return trip is in order for one of their omelets. read more

My husband and I been coming to this cozy Cafe for 9 years and it's just my favorite restaurant to come for breakfast! My sons love it here and I definitely will recommend! This is a cute little place that pays homage to Indiana, also known as the Hoosier state. As a Midwesterner myself, I decided to try this place for breakfast with my husband. Upon reviewing the menu, I decided on the sausage omlette. This came with a side of home fries. The omlette came stuffed with sausage, cheese, mushrooms, peppers and tomatoes. The homefries were cooked to perfection. Everything tasted good! I washed it down with a glass of OJ. A very popular spot. It's a nice cafe plenty of room, I ordered sausage eggs biscuits with gravy. The sausage was a bit tough but somewhere in there there was a flavor that I liked. The gravy was good but I could still taste the flour in the biscuit and it will certainly not fluffy. My waitress is absolutely adorable! She was extremely kind and went out of her way to make sure I was taking care of. read more

Hoosier Hospitality in the heat of the Arizona desert, be still my heart. I've heard of the two Hoosier Cafes in the Valley but never dined at one until now! AND I got to meet Linda. She's a lovely grandmother who "married a drunken American sailor from Ft Wayne" and after 30+ years and a few kids and one divorce, are still friends and business partners. Before embarking on a cross-country move for her ex's career in the 90's, they ran a Hoosier Cafe just south of Ft Wayne. They are also the original owners of the Hoosier Cafe in Chandler, of which she sold years ago. So considering she's been in the restaurant business longer than I've been alive, she and her ex deserve all the praise (esp making it thru 2020). It's diner breakfast/brunch food but not a chain. I managed to get a meal and conversation a little before closing recently (daily at/around 2p) after hiking in AJ. Linda was the one who made my late breakfast (a 3-egg cheesy/meaty omelette and potatoes). Many diners I've been to are fairly light on the cheese n meat but not Linda's! There was cheesy deliciousness in every bite. The potatoes were well seasoned, not overtly or under. They're also fairly inexpensive considering how much more expensive the Valley is than Indiana. I'm glad I found this place and look forward to coming back and maybe seeing some fellow Hoosiers plus eating one of Linda's homemade cinnamon rolls she promised to me. read more

There's nothing at this restaurant that you can't make yourself even better at home. And they're pricy, in my opinion. $15 for a BLT? With grocery store potato salad. I went with a friend and got the Reuben. If you like Reuben's, go to Chompies. The meat is 100 times more flavorful and you get at least 3x as much, and the bread isnt grocery store rye. I wish I had taken a pic, it was so mediocre. Nothing is under $10 there. Their food is so unimpressive I just wanted a little something (my friend suggested this restaurant). I've been there several times now and am not at all impressed. The meat on the Reuben was corned beef lunch meat, not real roasted corned beef. Yuk. Worst Reuben I've ever had by far. We waited over 10 minutes for our bill. It was 3 minutes to 2 and I told my friend they must be doing their closing stuff, I think they close at 2 or 2:30. We finally flagged someone down and asked her if she was getting ready to close? She said oh, no! We asked her when they closed and she said 2:00. It was 3 minutes to 2:00!! read more

Being a Hoosier, born and raised, I like to go to Linda's every now and then especially for a couple of Hoosier staples. Today, I wish I had stayed home. A total of 18 people in the place and it took a very long time to get my food. When the food finally came I was first surprised to see the Corned Beef Hash. This is one of the best small time cafes. We absolutely love going here and frequent the cafe quite often. The staff is very kind and not only knows us by name but are able to guess our orders. First time here and it was great. I had a BLT it was real bacon. It tasted good two weeks ago. I went there again had a BLT and they gave me fake bacon the stuff you put in the microwave don't let that old name for ya. it wasn't home-cooked believe me it wasn't real bacon. read more

I didn't read the reviews on this restaurant until after I had already been there. I have to be honest and say that I didn't have the same experience as past reviewers. The service was just fine. We arrived at 12:05, came for the breaded tenderloin. Our drink order was taken promptly. I am from Indiana, now a Tucson resident and we drove to get the tenderloin. Lunch starts being served at 11:30, but at 12:10 when they took our order they were out of tenderloin. We explained that was all we wanted and to just give us a bill for the sodas. Instead of an apology and asking if we would please come again we received a bill for $5.41. They only have about 6 sandwiches and hamburgers, and Hoosier and tenderloin go together. We will never return. read more

I'm from Indiana originally, so I just had to stop by. And like Indiana this place is nothing fancy. It is simple breakfast faire. Nothing unique or crazy going here. You will probably never see any experimental cuisine, but overall it was good and inexpensive. I got a chorizo burrito with salsa and paid about $5. The problem with chorizo burritos is a little chorizo goes a loooonnnnggg way and I have been overwhelmed by other restaurants' versions; however, the Hoosier Cafe did a fine job of balancing the flavors of potatoes, eggs, and chorizo. The salsa was also delish. Overall, don't come with grand expectations. This is a simple, kitschy place. But the food was good! And ultimately, isn't that what you go out for? read more

This place has become our Saturday morning tradition. It's super cut and dry, but delicious. If you're just looking for a simple, solid breakfast, this is the best place. And it's super cheap. The biscuits and gravy is awesome. The eggs are always cooked perfectly. Their homemade sausage is addicting. I just love it here and Linda is so sweet. If it would let me leave less than a star I would. I've been here plenty of times and I don't know if I will be going anymore. This morning I decided I would take my service dog, let me say that again my SERVICE DOG, and they told me they couldn't serve me because I had my dog. I explained to them she is my service dog even pulled out her card that allows her to be in buildings with me and still told me I had to leave. Love the decor as we are from Indiana. We got there at 1126 and were told by our server they were only serving breakfast. I couldn't even get a BLT. The table next to us ordered lunch two minutes after we ordered (different server). I settled with ham and eggs which was ok. Loved seeing the IU memorabilia but good was mediocre. read more

You might find it a little bit hard to get to, but don't be discouraged, right off of William Dillard Drive... you're gonna see a church campus on the right hand side, there may or may not be a sign out there about the coffee shop, but go ahead and pull up to the campus and make a left-hand turn and follow it all the way to kind of the north... And you will see the coffee shop. It has huge windows, and garage windows. You can sit inside or outside. With summer coming I'm sure that those will be shut in the air conditioning will be running in my understanding is that they have more food on the weekends. If you have children that have some extra energy and you would love to enjoy your coffee why they kind of tumble around, outside, this is definitely the place to go.
