Just too much crap to deal with that I kept putting off. The predatory pricing of my storage company (90% increase in 2 years!) angered me so much I started doing research for getting help with cleaning out my garage so I could move my storage items into it. Looking on the web, Kari Jane's Simply Organized was so highly rated, I felt confident that she could help. By wanting to pay a good service to help me rather than an out of control storage company month after month after month, I figured I had a good budget to work. Kari was very warm and professional and confident she could help me. After describing my situation and sending photos, she scheduled me promptly. She came over with 2 enthusiastic and hard working staffers and they got to work right away. Very diligent and organized and they made enormous progress. By the mid-day, the garage was completely cleared out. I thought it would take 2 or 3 days at least as I had a ton of crap. They diligently removed everything, sorted it out and categorized what could be tossed, or recycled or donated or would stay. And they diligently carried away several cars worth of donations at the end. The items I kept were put in nice transparent cases with clear labels, and there was a lot of room to move my storage in. It is such an enormous relief to be able to see the light at the end of the tunnel. I highly recommend Kari Jane and her staff and services. Completely worth it! Thank you so much!

My siblings and I had been stressed and overwhelmed by our mom's hoarding for years, but the…read moresituation always felt way too big for us to handle. After she was hospitalized and moved into a skilled nursing facility, I suddenly needed to end her lease and completely clear out her apartment while also dealing with a million other things on her behalf. I knew I needed more than just a junk removal or moving company. I specifically wanted a senior move manager who could coordinate the sorting, donations, hauling, moving, and storage, because the thought of finding and managing all of those vendors myself was overwhelming. I found A Clear Path through the NASMM website and was immediately impressed that they were A+ Accredited. Their website also really resonated with me because they clearly understood the emotional side of hoarding and approached these situations with compassion. Mary reached out very quickly after I submitted my project details, and I was able to schedule a Zoom consultation for the next day through their online scheduling system. She was kind, responsive, and upfront that a project of this size would be costly. After our consultation, she emailed me a detailed proposal with the full price breakdown, so I knew exactly what to expect before moving forward. Communication was fast and easy over email, and everything from scheduling the consultation to paying the invoice online felt organized and streamlined. I was still really nervous on the first day because I didn't know what to expect, but Melody, Erika, and Tito arrived right at 9:00 AM and immediately got to work after I gave them a walkthrough. They were so thoughtful and reassuring, and they always checked with me about what should be kept, donated, or thrown away. They were also incredibly meticulous. They carefully combed through everything and set aside important documents, money, and sentimental belongings, including things I had not even thought to look for, like my mom's passport and my family's Social Security cards. Knowing they were paying such close attention gave me so much peace of mind. They worked through an enormous amount of stuff during a heat wave and remained positive and efficient throughout the project. I was honestly so inspired by their work ethic. Mary had estimated that the sorting would take two full days, but they finished early on the second day! A Clear Path also coordinated the hauling with Richard and his team at Cote Trash Hauling and Cleanup. The hauling had been estimated to take two days, but they arrived right at 7:00 AM and finished the entire job in one day! I was amazed by how quickly they worked, especially since the apartment was on the second floor and there was so much to remove. By the end of the third day, the apartment was completely emptied. Richard and his team moved everything we were keeping into storage, transported the donations, and took the remaining junk to the dump. There is absolutely no way I could have handled all of this on my own, especially while juggling work and everything else related to my mom's transition. I feel so lucky that the project went as smoothly as it did! I'm incredibly grateful to Mary, Melody, Erika, Tito, Richard, and everyone else involved. They took a situation that had felt impossible for years and helped my family finally move forward. I truly cannot recommend A Clear Path enough, especially to anyone facing an overwhelming downsizing, hoarding, or senior move situation!!

Not judgmental at all, and is good at listening to your needs while gently encouraging you to consider new possibilities that you couldn't before. We spent 3 efficient sessions together and I felt so good in our space. Then 2 months later we unexpectedly had to move!!! "All of that decluttering effort gone to waste," I thought- but NOT true! Julie's coaching helped me think about my new space differently and how best to organize things that would help me long term. Luckily, I still had 1 more session in my package, and I used that for the 1 room in my new house that was the hardest because I had a tiny closet and little storage space. Julie helped me figure out that one too as I knew she would. My home and personal space has been much de-cluttered and no longer gives me the anxiety that I once felt. Thanks, Julie and Ashley!

Since I'm in the midst of a MAJOR Move, I just didn't have the wherewithal to sort a LOT of 6 - 8" tall piles of papers by myself. Ashley was AWESOME to work with! She's a true pro at this - 'helped me to quickly sort all the papers I wanted to keep from the throw-aways, then helped me to better organize my entire Filing system, and GET stuff FILED!! God BLESS her! She's super easy to talk with, so understanding & non-judgemental - exactly "what the Dr. ordered!!" I highly recommend her if you need this sort of help or just don't want to tackle such a hefty project by yourself.

But, I caught Amelia at a point in her life where she was not equipped to take on my project. She often made mini rants about needing a new team and a new way to organize her work. I have empathy for that as a self-employed person too, but only to an extent. I was very open and vulnerable with Amelia about my life state. I'd just lost my mom and was approaching a big birthday & I explained to her how much it would mean to have this done before retuning from a birthday trip. For context, we worked together over several months, so it wasn't as if I sprung this deadline on her. Everything was going smoothly for the most part, aside from her being late most days. I went on my 3 week long birthday trip, before I left we had discussed her visiting the apartment several times to mostly finish the job, and leave me with some homework on items I would have to sort myself. My housesitter eventually communicated to me that she hadn't reached out to schedule anything yet even though there were only 4 or 5 days left on the trip. See screenshots. Long story short, she ended up lying, blaming him for not having an open schedule, which is essentially irrelevant because I was FULLY clear that she was allowed to work on the apartment without him there, and my concierge was even OK with letting her in if he wasn't there to do it, as she'd already done that several times. She only recached out to him after I confronted her about progress, with just four days left on my trip. Again, screenshots attached. So, I ended up having to take time out of my trip to leave her very thorough but understanding voice messages. I expressed my disappointment especially since this was already vulnerable for me having to going through m many of my mom's objects. I am writing this six months later and to this day, she has never responded to me. She simply sent me the invoice which is frankly just a brutal way to end an emotional process. I have sent her multiple text messages, called her plenty of times so essentially she left the project without ever doing a walk-through, without an explanation, an apology, no receipts to make returns of certain items that she bought without my approval that simply don't work for me. As if I'm not already dealing with mourning, I have to deal with these inconvenient items every day, and think about this frankly traumatic experience. Post-trip I am happy to honestly say that most of the work she did was impressive, I've never argued that. However if you're someone who has emotions tied up in the organizational process, I would not recommend working with her because even with her undeniable skills, this has caused more damage than I could ever expect working with an organizer. More than anything I'm disappointed in her dishonesty and unprofessionalism, and I would urge anyone who's protective of their personal space and energy to find someone else.
