I never had an opportunity to consider this venue for my wedding reception. In fact, I called and spoke to a very friendly coordinator for about ten minutes about reception numbers, time frame, etc; she then asked me if "he" (my fiance) would be able to come look at the place with me, I told her it was a "she"..... then I was informed they DON'T ALLOW SAME SEX WEDDING RECEPTIONS.... I was told it was because of "religious views". NOTHING on the website hints at this being a religious establishment, and there is not one single statement addressing their anti-gay policy. Clearly communicating this policy on the website would stop people from wasting time. I have communicated this disappointing rule to friends and family, and we plan to never give them business in any way. read more

If you are planning to book the Phoenix Gallery for your special event, please take note of the following critique: We chose the gallery as it was claimed to be "avant-garde" in atmosphere! The event was held end of September 2013. *We reserved the facility mid-June 2013. *Two weeks prior to the event we met with the manager and paid the amount owed for the remainder of the room rental and the food order. *We met once again with the manager and the owner about 10 days prior to the event. We were disappointed in the condition of the facility at that time. Therefore, we met almost every day to ensure the place was clean and in an acceptable, presentable condition going thru a check list of items that must be done so as not to cancel this event. The staff worked very hard to clean up the place and the linens were nicely pressed. *We arranged for the front window to be decorated as well as putting confetti and chocolates on the tables and moved some furniture in that was clean (not soiled). *The uni-sex bathroom on the main floor was repainted and finished that day... the owner painted a farm scene which was very cute. However, we did "pretty" up some of the areas where the soap dispensers and paper towels were sitting. *The food was served buffet style.... the side dishes were edible (cheese tray, salad and veggies). However, the main entrees must have sat a long time in the oven to keep warm as the meats were severely dried out and well overcooked. One food item ordered was served to the party on the second floor. *There were three wait staff personnel that evening. One person was new and waiting for instructions most of the time. The wait staff did work very hard and were extremely polite. However, they were working two events on separate floors running up and down stairs all night. *It was extremely warm in the building as the air conditioning was insufficient to keep the place cool. The front doors were blocked open in order to help cool down the place. *The bartender was inexperienced and was continually waiting for more ice to be brought down to the bar throughout the evening. Many of the guests at this event helped the bartender open bottles and advise on how to pour mixed drinks and identify top shelf liquors. 0 stars. Mine and my husbands experience was terrible. I went through the entire process of booking the Moline Club for our wedding in 2014. I met with the coordinator, checked out the place, and at first was very happy with my choice. Let me mention that I met with them and booked in October 2013 for a wedding that I was planning for September 2014. I thought I was doing everything right and thought I was getting ahead of the game. At the time I was given a contract that I signed and gave to them. The coordinator told me that her copier was on the fritz and that she would mail me a copy of the contract when it was working. So, being a trusting person. I agreed but made her write out a receipt for the 950.00 I paid to her for the venue costs and with a description of what that payment was for. I never received a copy of the contract despite my numerous attempts to get one. Well, come April 2015, when I tried to contact the coordinator to start narrowing down our reception menu. My contact was returned with a text, stating that she was so sorry but they had double booked the date that I had booked for our wedding which was intended for the 13th. I was then told if I was willing I could just push it back a week, to the 20th, everything would go off without a hitch. Despite being enraged about their mix up, I agreed to push it back, and went on with my planning. Then in May 2015, in the midst of trying to complete my plans with the Moline club, I received another text from the coordinator stating that the 20th was double booked as well and that she was no longer working at the Moline Club. At this point I contacted the owner of the Moline club. My husband and I went in to meet with her as we were both incredibly angry about this mix up. At this meeting, instead of being compassionate to our situation (as we were together for 15 years and finally getting married was a huge importance to us and everything was ruined.) The owner began to literally cry about how her coordinator had committed fraud and basically robbed her and us and at this time she said she had the 27th available and we could do our wedding then. I'm a very sensitive person and felt bad for her but at this point I no longer wanted to have my wedding at the Moline Club because I did not trust any of them and for my own personal reasons we did not want to get married on the 27th. So, I told the owner that all I wanted was my 950.00 returned to me, which I provided the receipt for, as well as I wanted the Moline Club to reimburse me the 150.00 I paid for my invitations that were now useless because I could not get married on the 20th. At this meeting the women agreed with all the proof I had of the Moline Clubs mistakes and agreed to pay me the money back, as we desperately needed every dollar to try and secure another venue. But she said that she would have to make payments because she did not have the money to reimburse me. Again as a trusting and compassionate person, I agreed as I felt bad for the fraud that was committed against the business. After about a month of hearing nothing from the owner, I began to email, and call her. Each email she kept stating that she was working with detectives and that's why she hadn't paid me back yet. Well, I then did start getting angry. My deal was with the Moline Club not with the coordinator and I didn't feel that I should have to continue to wait, just because she was working with detectives. Eventually, after numerous emails with the owner over months time, she all of sudden sent me an email saying that she was not responsible for the money owed to me because I chose to reschedule for the 27th and then backed out. Oh, I was livid, as I NEVER wanted to get married on the 27th and never asked for my date to be changed to the 27th. She said she miraculously found a note (months later) stating that I wanted to change it to the 27th. I knew then that she was just trying to avoid paying me back what I was owed. I even told her that I would scream from the rooftops about their bad business and the owner actually had the gull to tell me that she would sue me for slander/defamation. In response to that, I informed her that she could not win a lawsuit against me for slander/defamation because everything I was saying was TRUE. She knew it, I knew it, and I had proof. I documented everything and kept everything during the whole process. I still have the texts on an old phone to this day. Anyways, after months of trying to recuperate my losses, and then eventually trying to sue in small claims. I made it as far as us having to send a certified letter before we could actually sue but the letter was never picked up from the post office, and I grew tired and just gave up. I wish I hadn't!!!! So please if you are considering the Moline Club, RUN FOR THE HILLS!!!! I would suggest the Black Watch Room in Le Claire, IA. It's definitely higher price but worth it!!! Our wedding was beautiful and the staff was great!!!! read more

Dirty facility, poor service, I never got the remaining amount from my bar tab which should have been substantial since Moline Club staff started cocktail hour 45 minutes late. My guests were thirty and I had to have friends/family run around and direct staff because nothing was communicated to them. This place is not worth it - don't drop one penny here. read more

My husband and I were extremely pleased with our wedding reception which was held at the Moline Club in November of 2009. We had a smallish wedding of 75 people on the 2nd floor of the building which is very charming. I had only seen the rooms during the day, and when we arrived after the ceremony, I was absolutely delighted. The lighting in the dining area was gorgeous and warm, and the space was perfect for the intimate reception we had wanted. We had an open wine bar with a great bartender provided by them. We also had them cater the buffet dinner which all of our guests enjoyed. We had prime rib and chicken and a delicious eggplant dish for some of our vegetarian guests (including my maid of honor). They also provided someone to cut our cakes. I specifically remember him being really friendly and very efficient, cutting our cakes right there at the cake table (we had 8 cakes of different varieties). The larger half of the room was big enough for a small 6-piece jazz band and dance floor, with a nice sitting area by the fire for guests. The owner, Narveen, listened to what we wanted and was really interested in seeing my vision for the evening and making it happen. The setup and take-down time was also very generous. We would not recommend the Moline Club to anyone! They are unorganized and unreliable. I can't count how many emails and phone calls had gone unanswered. How many times we were told something couldn't be dealt with right away because Narveen was gone in Chicago. It makes us angry to remember how nice and accommodating she was when she wanted us to book our event but then all but disappeared after we signed, leaving her over-worked and nice-but-under qualified staff to deal with everything else. She claims the Moline Club is a well respected business that knows its duties to its clients, but from our experience this is just not true. If not for our diligence and the help from our friend and family our wedding and reception would have been a disaster. As it was, we were much more stressed before, during, and after the event than we should have been-- all thanks to the Moline Club's inadequate knowledge and facilities as well as their terrible business practices. read more

Very pretty venue. But other than that, not worth it. Its poorly managed and poorly staffed. You can never get ahold of anyone by calling the actual building. You always have to call the manager on her cell phone and most of the time she doesn't answer and it takes her forever to call back sometimes. I needed something answered for our caterer for staffing and he just had to assume because it took she did not answer and the next day had still not called me back so I called her again and she said she was just getting ready to call me but she called me by the wrong name...The night of my event we had specifically ordered a certain bar item that they did not go get until after my event had started. We were required to pay for 2 bartenders due to my guest list, but only had one all night, and he was drunk by the end of the night. He was also rude to guests of my event, including myself at times and even went as far as hitting on my mother-in-law. The beer from our keg was extremely foamy and no one really wanted to drink it, which they blamed on the driver dropping it but both my parents are former bartenders and so are members of my guest list and they all know its from the keg being poorly tapped and the owner tried pouring a pitcher of beer and it was mostly foam. We are still waiting on being able to get a meeting to settle the remainder of our bar tab to get reimbersed for the extra keg we did not use and the second bartender we did not receive. But amazingly the owner is out of town and the managers phone was dying when I tried to set up a meeting to get everything settled. They seriously need new staff and better management. read more
