My first time in The Monster Card Shop this morning and I'll tell you what..I was impressed. From the wide variety of cards, and memorabilia to the different seating areas in which to relax and converse about all things sports or trading card related. The doors had only just opened twenty minutes before I had walked in. Yet the place was buzzing with activity! Despite the other dozen or so customers inside I was greeted almost immediately. There being so much to choose from did not stop me from finding what it was I looking for, and some things I was not. Very organized and well kept place. Thank you, to the staff for answering all my questions, about pricing and how to obtain the best value for my dollars spent. This was our first trip to the monster card shop. It is very large and very welcoming. They have a huge selection in pretty much anything you're looking for. I will say they are pretty pricey for example, when we were in California, we purchased a box of basketball cards at the official NBA store. The same box at The Monster Card Shop was marked up almost double what we paid at the NBA store. I do love that they have free pinball machines that you can play which was handy. While my husband looked picked out some packs to rip, I played pinball. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. When my husband purchased the box of basketball cards that were just over $100 he was not offered the frequent shopper membership. I purchased some Pokémon cards after his purchase, I was offered they're free loyalty program. I asked if they could credit his purchase onto our frequent shopper account and was told that was not possible. My recommendation would be to ask every customer every time if they've signed up for your rewards program. read more

This place was great! They had a huge selection of sports cards. They also had a ton of non-sports stuff as well. Everybody that worked there was extremely knowledgeable and very happy and eager to help. I took my kids there and had a blast. I feel like they do a good job of representing their business and pricing things affordable so that people can buy. Hobbies like these can be extremely expensive so for young kid to be able to come in and buy a few packs is awesome. read more

First time in a card shot and this place iwas awesome. Cards everywhere. Singles ready to buy with a lot of them graded. Every box you can imagine is available. The arcade was also pretty cool. If I had any complaint it's when I told them I had never been to a card shop and was looking for a box for my 5 year old to open they first showed me the $1100 dollar hobby box. "This is what everyone is buying". My kid is five. He has no idea between a million dollar card and a .25 cent card. That being said I will be back. One of the best shops out here in AZ! They have so many selections from Pokemon cards (Lost Origins, Sun and Moon, Destined Rivals, Evolving Skies!! Booster Boxes, ETBs, Booster Bundles, Slabs, Singles, V Unions you name it!) to Sport cards. Prices are obviously up there to reflect the TCG market but I have to say it's better than most shops I've gone to. Don't get me started with the prices at gamestop Staffs are very friendly and helpful. Weekends are definitely one of their busier times. My husband and I come by when we can. Came here to buy a box to rip and sadly all sold out since they are such a cool big store. But I ended up buying $600 worth of raw and grade cards and got a heck of a deal. Travis was amazing and deserves a fat raise for having to deal with me for an hours nickel and diming him on the cards. I love the showcases here and it's a great vibe in the shop. But other 3 buddies that came with. Spend time watching the MLB games that he had on and bought some Pokemon to riiip!! Can't thank these guys enough. But Travis definitely is the man. read more

Boxes or packs, the choice is yours! Service is awesome and extremely helpful. There are a few huge TVs with games on when you walk in as well as seating throughout. I am unbelievably disappointed in this card shop. Shame on me for not knowing to not buy single packs not in their cardboard sleeve but shame on this shop for changing and selling them that way. I bought 20+ packs as a gift for Christmas and every. Single. Pack. Had nothing. What is worse? Cards were upside down and backwards and out of order in 5 different packs. So not only does this lead me to believe the packs were all weighed and discarded I also believe they were tampered with. Disgusting practice from a shop we've done business with many times to support a local. Marked up and a complete scam. read more

Every time my son and I come into this card shop, the atmosphere is always so welcoming. The gentlemen who run the store go absolutely above and beyond to bring a smile to every child who comes in. Staff is super welcoming and will always check in on you. Although the single card selection is kind of skimpy and slightly overpriced the sealed product is great. Only place I go for sealed wax.
