At about that time another guy appeared from 'round the corner and helped me. They had much more than the first, uninterested employee let on. Once I went to check out I went back to the uninterested employee, who had been behind the register. He rung me up then unceremoniously stepped back from the counter and went, "Okay, there you go.", leaving me to awkwardly reach forward and grab my jumble of items I'd just paid for. The prices were fairly high, and given the fact that I felt uncomfortable asking a simple question and then made to feel even more awkward actually purchasing something...yeah, I just don't think I'll be back.

This is the worst card shop and the worst batch of people I have ever encountered in this hobby…read more The guys in there spend more time yapping about their casino winnings or fantasy teams than they do trying to help you with anything you may be looking for. Their selection of singles is incredibly mid and overpriced. DO NOT GO HERE TO SELL YOUR CARDS. A few months back I went in with a 2025 Topps Jacob Wilson Gold Holo Foil /50 PSA 9. The head guy in there refused to directly comp my card, he was looking at other variations of Wilson rookie cards and determined my card was worth "maybe $10, but I'd give you $25 to get your money back because you graded it." There was a direct comp in June of '25 of $175. Other card shops I had been to had given me an estimated value of $200. This guy flat out tried to rip me off, wasn't nice about it, didn't even care that he wasn't looking at the right comps. He literally said to me, "we only buy off people that need the cash and that's usually between 40-60% of comps, if you don't want to sell that's fine but the next 5 guys will." HORRIBLE experience. The worst place I've ever been and could not express enough how poorly it's ran. If I could give negative stars, I would.

DO NOT WORK HERE!!!…read more My roommate and I came to this store for an interview, and we were genuinely excited and happy for the opportunity to potentially work here. Unfortunately, the experience from the moment we walked in was extremely uncomfortable and disappointing. When we arrived, we told the first available employee that we were there for an interview. Her attitude immediately came across as if she did not want to be there. I completely understand having a bad day, but when you work in customer service, the way you treat people matters. She contacted the manager, Kathy, and we were told to go to the back and complete a math test in the break room. We actually had to find someone ourselves to help us get the test and a pencil. Thankfully, the employee who helped us was the only person who was genuinely kind and helpful during our entire experience. While taking the test, everything was initially quiet because there was only one employee in the room. Then several employees came in on their break and started talking, laughing, and being extremely loud right next to us. I understand that it was their break room, but if applicants are expected to complete an interview test that requires concentration, why would you have them take it in a busy break room in the first place? This was not an easy little addition-and-subtraction test either. Some of the questions required us to actually sit down, think, and work through them. Trying to concentrate while people were laughing and talking inches away from us made it unnecessarily difficult. At one point, I quietly mentioned to my roommate that the employees were being so loud that I could barely think. We giggled about it between ourselves and continued working on our tests. We were not being disruptive, disrespectful, or causing a scene. A little while later, Kathy came into the break room and asked us to come outside. She then told us that we were "not taking this seriously" because we had been laughing and talking and apparently helping each other on the test. She also said that her employees had told her this. We were extremely confused because the very employees who were loudly talking and laughing next to us were apparently the ones judging us for doing the same thing quietly amongst ourselves. She then told us she had to cut our interviews short because she had other interviewers coming and said that we were "taking too long." The timing did not even make sense because my roommate's interview was scheduled for 1:30 PM, and it was barely going to be 1:30. At that point, we left feeling embarrassed, upset, and completely disrespected. We came in excited about the possibility of working here and left feeling like we had already been judged and accused of things we did not do. We did absolutely nothing to deserve the way we were treated. There is a huge difference between professionally addressing a concern with applicants and making them feel unwelcome, embarrassed, and accused before they have even had the opportunity to interview. If this is how potential employees are treated during the interview process, I can only imagine how employees are treated after they are hired. I sincerely hope management takes a serious look at how applicants are being treated, because no one should leave an interview feeling the way we did. For a store that presents itself as Christian-based, I expected much more kindness, professionalism, and basic respect. This experience was incredibly disappointing, and I would not recommend applying here based on how we were treated. 0 STARS FOR KATHY AND THOSE LADIES

The reviewer of the post claiming that swastikas are supported is absolutely wrong. Yelp! is supposed to be a review of the business experience by the customer, not a place to take out personal problems because an individual wanted to start trouble. The swastikas in question are nothing more than a tiny marking on the tails of airplanes that are there for historical authenticity of the models being built (IOW they are/were on the real aircraft) and historical accuracy is a major factor in model building. The claims made by Savoy T are not only false but also scandalous. To purport that Andy's is in any way has responsibility or supports the neo- Nazi nuts is false and slander. Take note also that Savoy T has never even set foot in the store, he said so himself (quick---edit the post to hide it!). So far as "suppressing free speech" goes, the only people who get stifled in the Mediocre Modelers Group are those who violate the rules. The rules are simple: be courteous and respectful, no promotions of other business, and no politics/religion. The poster came in starting his political crusade and became difficult, and so he was stifled. ANY other pagekeeper in FB would have done the same. In conclusion, Andy's has been in business nearly 15 years in the Phoenix area and has never drawn a complaint by anyone except for Savoy T, and I find that pretty telling. Worst of all, it is over something that had nothing to do with the business/customer experience, just a guy who wanted to start a political crusade and didn't get what he wanted. Having a grandfather who was a Jew in WWII Germany, I am particularly keen to the whole Holocaust issue. And people like Savoy T, who think that erasing history will fix everything, really get on my nerves. We will never learn until we see and confront, generation after generation, the horrible things that man has done throughout history. Hiding it by banning symbols only makes the lessons we learn go away by their absence. I find it funny that a guy who is claiming that Andy's is "suppressing free speech" by stifling troublemakers on a FB page does not see his own hypocrisy by wanting to ban a symbol that reminds us of one of the worst things done in human history. Free speech does not mean that you only see what you deem is acceptable. Andy's is a fine business (I have been going there almost weekly for over 13 years) and I have never, ever seen anything even remotely true to the claims made by Savoy T, who has never even been to the store. read more
