The creepiest and weirdest hotel I have ever stayed at. I left a whole day early and bolted out of there. I would have checked out earlier but my company paid for it. I even thought about sleeping in my car. The parking lot was a tell-tale sign... I saw such a big hotel but my there were only 3 cars, including mine. I already was nervous seeing that... I checked in and was double charged (the hotel later sorted it out- they charged 2 days for incidentals) Going up to the room: the hallway lights are motion-sensored, so the hallway was long and dark. The lights slowly switched on when I stepped out of the elevator. Once in the room: there was a wrinkle in the carpet, which was weird. The curtain was ripped and the bed had only throw pillows.... There was an armchair with a cover on it, it had me guessing what was under the cover... The heater did not get hot, I had to switch on the Aux for the heat to warm the room. When I entered, the thermostat was in the 50s. The restroom: there was a leak under the sink, there were microfiber towels hanging where there should be hand towels and it had a long piece of hair on it. There seemed to also be a lot of ladybugs by the window and around the desk or table. Furniture and TV seemed really dated. I was grossed and creeped out by this place... it was the only hotel in Sandwich, IL. Lesson learned. I'll take the 20 min drive next time I have to be in the area. read more

Traveled for work and it was okay. We stayed on the first floor and the windows didn't lock which wasn't the greatest feeling leaving our belongings when we had work Service from front desk was pretty good. But our cards wouldn't work everyday and had to get a new one every-time. The tv you either had to sign in through google home or cable was so static you couldn't even see what was on the tv sometimes. No bed bugs. Beds were clean but the tub and the shower curtain could use some cleaning. Make sure to bring your own towels for drying off after a shower. read more

My fiancée & I stay here ALL the time because it's quiet & clean but this place is a joke!! They can't keep people employed because I'm sure they are tired of getting yelled at by customers & the owner is cheap as hell & pays them very low wages. 1st of all, everything is outdated including the internet. you rarely will get internet service & most of the TV's come through with static. A few rooms have smart TVS but for the most part they are OLD. The toiletries are gross & smell disgusting so bring your own. You will also see several rooms with patchwork on the carpets because they are too cheap to replace. If u are on the top floors it will take you a while to get hot water so be prepared!! U may want to let it run for about 20 minutes before u get in. We checked in today & there is a New Manager whom has NO people skills & should be a dog walker because he has the social skills of a pet rock. This place has so much potential however with bozo the clown working here, along with some of the other circus creatures it's a real live circus all the way down to having a bearded lady! There are a few respectful workers who definitely deserve to be manager before this clown. We stay here 6-8 days a mouth but this will be our last!!! This new wanna be manager is rude, & disgusting & incompetent. He is abusing his power as a manager. He's not managing anything. P.S the continental breakfast they claim to have is nothing more than stale cereal & crappy packaged food that no one eats anyways. I highly recommend staying in Yorkville & ditch this place! United put me up in this hotel (Montcler) due to a flight cancellation. This is one of the worst hotels I've ever stayed in, regardless of who paid for it. I arrived just before midnight on 7/18/25 and there were a bunch of screaming kids running around in the lobby. They appeared to have been playing out at the pool, and now coming into the lobby. Staff (only ever saw two people) and system was slow as molasses, towel on floor at front desk was evidently soaking up water from a roof leak over the desk/counter, food all over the floor in the elevator, carpets looked old and way overdue to be cleaned, toilet had a ring on it, no bedspread on bed, TV in room was only b/w and scrolled repeatedly on every channel. Upon checkout, I asked for a paper receipt, which never came due to the slow system. Finally agreed to share my email with them, very reluctantly. If this is a Wyndham hotel, it's gone down the tubes. Very seedy. read more

Our stayed at Manor Motel was truly enjoyable. From the moment we arrived, we were impressed with how clean and inviting everything felt. The rooms were cozy, the bedding fresh, and the AC units worked perfectly. We especially liked how the bathrooms were stocked with essentials like soap and towels. The entire place had a welcoming charm, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Knowing it's open 24 hours gave us peace of mind during our trip. We loved the quiet atmosphere, well-kept rooms, and attention to detail.. It was a relaxing and affordable get way, we'll definitely come back! read more

To be honest. To not try to get over on guest. My family and I moved from sandwich recently. So when I come home we stay here. It's not the best but didn't think it was the worst. I've been here a few times since my move. I have a lot of kids 6 to be exact two of them are adults so we get multiple rooms as that's what is required. I stayed here 03-07-2025 until 03-09-2025. I made sure everything was as clean I could make it when I left. On March 24th I woke up to the hotel charging me $250 for nail polish on carpet and walls. We never had polish. I disputed it. They refunded me on March 28th after the new management company let me know they did research and realized it wasn't from us and already there. Great I'm done. Or so I thought. I wake up on 4-11-2025 to see they charged me $700 basically for a fake reservation. I've been calling and trying to get it resolved. But notice I said I have been calling. They have yet to respond. Small claims is my next step. I'm going to be kind in leave the lady's name out. But she is blaming Expedia. Ummm that's who I always book through and never had this experience. This hotel will not be getting over on me. The elevator isn't up to code. The pool area needs a good cleaning. Room 320 smells like meat and not in a good way. 319 had a bucket under the bathroom sink. A contracted worker was told to handle a job even though he didn't work for the hotel. Just there for a maintenance job. He legit said those words to me. Never again will I stay here. I called my bank. Ordered a new card so good luck with the thievery next month. Despite whatever cell service you may have... you will get none at this hotel. After your cell doesn't work your tv be be be so outdated you can't stand to watch it, and some of the basic channels don't work. Your room lights are ran on your room key. At times you'll walk through the hallway and every light will flicker on and off in the hallway. Just further indicating your in a shit hotel. Not worth 100+ a night. Further more they indicate a bar on site and there IS NO BAR! Pool closes at 10 with no regard to graduation weekend. Less than 24 hours in this place and I should of stayed in Aurora. Save your money, it looks cool from the outside but it's not what your getting. read more

My family and I booked to stay one night here and it was terrible! By far my worst experiences at a hotel. I booked a king size room and walked into an outdated room that looks nothing like the pictures online. For reference, there were giant holes in the carpet and the walls were very dirty. After checking out the room, I decided to shower and the water was ice cold did not get hot all. Front desk had to call management to approve me getting a new room which still was not great but better than the last room. Got moved to a two Queen bed room. Which had bugs in the beds and one wash cloth provided for the entire room. Moving on to the pool, nice size pool but there were centipedes and little worms crawling around the edge of the pool. There were no pool towels provided. Overall I didn't not enjoy a single thing about this stay, extremely uncomfortable and was a huge inconvenience. Definitely not worth the money I paid. Trust me when i do not waste your money!!! They have a non refundable policy due to the condition of the hotel. read more

Pros: - Outstanding service; an extremely customer-centric Hotel and company. (Run by Wyndham, which is notorious for being extremely guest oriented) - Immaculate inside and out, central air heating and air conditioning (I cannot stress the importance and quality of this enough), spacious standard rooms. - Reasonable prices. Cons - One of the rooms I had stayed in had a smokey smell, among others. - The 'deluxe suite' that I was upgraded to was simply a larger room, with an even smaller shower and restroom. - Virtually all of the rooms' views are of grass or a parking lot (this does seem to be the norm anywhere in Illinois outside of Chicago, though). I would like to give special thanks to two individuals working at this hotel: Kelly (bartender), and Cameron (female, concierge). Their diligence, kindness, and charismatic personalities made my stay a very warm and welcoming one. read more

I had just left a funeral for my nana, and I was really depressed about it. She was my best friend and she was going grocery shopping and a girl scout attacked her for not purchasing thin mints due to her diabetes and as she attenpted to stand up someone ran her over with the shopping carts. so my friend invited me after the funeral to his hotel room along with my cousin, and we were immediately told to leave although my friend was a paying customer and yoir business seems to need customers. She then proceeded to shoulder checked me out of the hotel. We're planning to get a room and never got the chance. Entirely disgusted , and on my way out I saw three cockroaches. I booked two nights at this hotel as a solo "babymoon" for myself before my husband and I welcomed our second child. The only positive thing I have to say about my experience is that the location was close to home which made the rest of my weekend salvageable after leaving within two hours of my stay due to numerous issues that arose. Aside from location, I chose this hotel for the simple fact that it offered the best price on a king suite with a whirlpool- I'm uncomfortably pregnant and desperate for some relief from the aches and pains that go along with it. Due to a family emergency I had to change my reservation and push it back one weekend- no big deal and it was easy to do on the website. According to the website, the new room (which was also $30 more expensive) also had the jetted tub, but two queen beds instead. All of the king rooms were listed as sold out for my new dates- again, no big deal since the tub was my only requirement. When I arrived to check in, I'm informed that only king rooms have the tubs I wanted and I'd have to pay an additional $65 to upgrade. I was told it could be done since all of the king rooms were suddenly available. It was a clear cut case of bait and switch but I knew it was too late to cancel and just wanted to soak in the tub so I went along with it but changed my reservation from two nights to one. Aside from the bait and switch, the following are other issues that came up during my brief stay. -One of the curtains was broken and barely hanging on -The WiFi was an unprotected connection with barely any service -The entrance way and main hallways smelled like a mixture of cannabis, stale tobacco and sitting water -The TV was very small and grainy reception -The bed had no actual pillows on it, just five throw pillows and appeared to be smaller than a King bed -The bedding was just a stained sheet, no additional blankets or comforter -The mini fridge's freezer section door immediately fell off when I opened the door -The carpet was not flat and had several lumpy bubbled up sections -The room smelled like smoke -The restaurant is closed "indefinitely" I still looked past all of these issues even after knowing I was duped and just wanted to soak in the tub. Upon filling the tub, the water was filmy, cloudy and full of residue from their cleaning products. Pregnant or not, I was not going to soak in a chemical filled tub. That was my final straw and I gathered my belongings and attempted to cancel the reservation all together. At this point they said their "hands are tied" and "nothing we can do" because of their cancellation policy. I was then offered an "upgrade" king suite. The only difference in that room was an additional tiny TV in an corner about 15 feet away from the jetted tub alcove. Almost every issue in the original room was present in the upgraded room as well. I immediately checked the tub before settling in this time and the amount of chemical residue was worse than the first room. I went to use the bathroom before going back to talk to the front desk and was greeted with feces stains in the toilet. At that point, I informed them I was leaving and I would need a full refund. There was no way we were paying even a cancellation fee and I wouldn't even stay there for a discounted rate. My request for a refund was denied so I left and let my husband take over communication with their staff. The woman he spoke to identified herself as the manager and again stated there was nothing she could do per the cancellation policy. She implied I was the problem and was insane for thinking the tubs were "too clean". I should be happy they were "so clean" and I was making it a "big deal" since they're all "eco-friendly" products. (Eco-friendly means the products aren't harmful to the environment, not that they can be bathed in by humans). She also stated I must not know the difference between feces and hard water stains. My husband requested documentation regarding their conversation and policies referenced and she agreed to email him- he's still waiting for that email. Needless to say this was an awful experience and I would not recommend this place to anyone. Ever. Unless you live close by and have the option to go home after you've exhausted all other options. I'm sure back in its day, this was a lovey resort, but failure to maintain and update it has caused it to be mediocre, at best. The hotel smelled of cannabis and our room included a loose toilet, peeling ceiling paint and mere sheets on the bed. The trash cans on the deck were so full, trash was falling out of them. Our room was 80° upon entry, but did cool to 72° relatively quickly. The front desk staff were super friendly and kind, as well. But, I wouldn't stay here again. I definitely expected more from a Wyndham-owned property and they failed to deliver. read more

Very disappointed with this hotel. No room service, no restaurants to go to other than what they had on-site, no entertainment to explore besides raging waves which was fun. Jacuzzi looked stunning in the photos. An extremely small tub that barely fit 2 people, a very old tub. The cost to stay at this place is just way too over priced for what it doesn't deliver. I addressed this to desk service, fill out a survey, and all I received was an apology email for the inconvenience. That's not good enough, I wanted a credit of SOMETHING in return for the amount of money we wasted. This hotel was going through a transitional period, but that doesn't mean we should've paid full price. The desk clerk and manager didn't make any adjustments for me. Even after the transitional period. That's not going to change the size of the small dinky Jacuzzi, no room service, and nothing really to do out there but go to the water park. Recently had to book this hotel for two days. It became immediately clear that cooperate and local management don't communicate. Quotes were different between the two management levels and then they put it back on you to figure out the difference. On top of that a light was out in a room and we asked if it could be fixed. The front desk said they will try however they don't have a maintenance person. For a light bulb? It's very clear between all our guest that this hotel is poorly managed and staffed. The hotel itself is immaculate however the poor staffing/unaccountable workers and management destroy any organized stay. read more

Requested conjoining rooms and called to confirm multiple times prior to stay. Upon check-in, we were told that one of the conjoining rooms was given away to someone else the night before our stay. They were apologetic for this mistake and trying to figure it out. We were able to get rooms right across from each other. Asked about dirty ring in toilet and was told it was calcium build up. Bathroom counter, faucet and toilet seat did not appear clean. Super loud guests partying at 2 am, hotel attendant came up twice and told them to be quiet. Attendant very firm with what she was saying, guests continued being loud. Alarm set off at 3am and all guests had to leave building... all happened in same night. Asked what happed and a guest made a "sauna" out of their room and it flooded and ruined 2 rooms underneath. And the steam set off the alarm. Front desk worker would not look at you when asked a question, he kept looking at computer. Requested refund for horrible night, was told management would email, but email nor refund ever received. Wash cloths very thin, not hotel quality. I would never stay here again... Ever. read more

The woman at the front desk was rude. My significant other and I waited at the desk to check for several minutes, the lady got a phone call on the desk phone which isn't a problem but she didn't say so much as "excuse me" or "1 moment please" she just walked away and was on the phone for about 10 minutes. She then returned to check us in with the worse possible attitude. There was no mention of additional amenities or direction to where anything was. The overall look of everything was nice but upon entering the room we noticed several issues. Extremely small shower and tub, cheap tp, very cheap and scratchy towels (which there were only 2 of), rough bed sheets and a cheap blanket. Super crappy tv and there were bugs tucked up in all the corners of the room. There were only 2 outlets by the bed both of which were on one side of the bed. The parking lot also has no lines so if free for alls are your thing, go crazy. All in all not worth 140 a night. read more
