The waiter was very over the top friendly and pushy which made us feel like we were dealing with a used car salesman. When we mentioned we were there for Happy Hour the friendliness then turned to dismissive as he told us we would need to sit at the bar for that. We were sitting at a table next to the bar and the bar was all high tops. Again, NO ONE else was there. I asked if there was any low top seating that would count as sitting at the bar due to having a condition that would make it painful to sit on a barstool. He unapologetically stated "No". I was not going to pay more for my food and drink due to geography, so I stood at the bar. As we looked over the menu the bartender, host, and waiter stood at the end of the bar talking and gossiping. It seemed very unprofessional since we were the only ones there and we could hear their entire conversation. The bartender was very friendly. We ordered the bowl of queso and the bartender asked if we wanted it loaded and we told her no. We also ordered the bistec and chicken tacos with no pico de gallo. When the queso came out it was a small cup full of what looked like onions, but probably pico de gallo. We told the bartender we ordered the bowl and did not want the pico. She took it back and then gave us another small bowl and it was topped with meat. She could tell we were not happy and asked if everything was okay, so we explained we had ordered the bowl, not cup and just wanted plain queso, but at this point we told her it was fine. When the tacos arrived the bistec were covered in raw onions. This was not listed on the menu and not something either of us wanted which is why we said no pico. We sent those back as well but told her we did not want them replaced. We split the chicken tacos and were not impressed so we didn't order anything else.

They DJ mixes it up with something that will appeal to everyone at one point; rock, hip hop, club or even ranchero (For the Tejano fans out there. This is the Valley after all). They also have a large dance floor with plenty of room at the front of the bar. It's my new place to hang out. As an added bonus it's right next to Harlingen's bowling alley, so it can be fun to go hang out there and then pop over to the bar when the alley closes at midnight on the weekends. It's across the street from Whataburger if you get the munchies after drinking. All in all it's one of the better bars in Harlingen. It's not the lap of luxury or excitement, but for Harlingen it's definitely a good place to check out.
