After the first repair did not fix the problem, James did not charge us until he figured out what was truly wrong with the car.

not sure exactly what is going on with this business but I took my truck in to have the air…read moreconditioner repaired and I feel that the quote that I got for $ 2,295.00 was excessive. I went ahead and gave my permission to do the repair since the truck was already there and I didn't want to have to pick it up and search around for another shop. (my bad). then I received a call saying that there was a coolant leak and if I wanted them to address that issue the cost would be an additional $ 295.00. At that point I just wanted my truck back and during my conversation with the owner I expressed my frustration about the initial cost and to just finish the AC repair and that I just wanted to get my truck back. Well once the repair was finished I went and paid and low and behold since I was paying with a credit card my final bill was almost $ 2,500.00. Not sure what the up charge was about because I have had my vehicles worked on numerous times at this garage and paid with my credit card and never had to pay a 4% credit card fee before. I think it was the previous conversation that I had with the owner about cost that spurred the up charge. Their work looked good but the cost was extreme. We'll see if the repair is solid in time. At any rate I will not be doing business with this garbage looking forward. Sad though because I feel that they do good work and have treated me fairly on all past dealings. It just takes one bad experience.

I drove to my home in Bullhead City to enjoy 4 day weekend. Sunday, the day before I was to head…read moreback home, I waited in line at Sam's Club to fill up my gas tank. When it was finally my turn I pulled up to the gas pump and filled up. It was then when I noticed radiator fluid spilling out from under my vehicle. Opening the hood I could see that the over flow had come out of the radiator coolant reservoir tank. It was 4 miles to my home in Bullhead so I crossed my fingers, cranked up the heater and made it home. When I got home I started reading Yelp reviews for mechanics and found Actco Auto Repair. Being that it was Sunday and they were closed I decided I would drive over when they opened at 8 am Monday. About an hour before I drove over I filled up the radiator with water and the reserve tank with antifreeze. When I arrived I went inside the office and explained what happened the day before. Since the hoses did not leak they were going to pressure test the radiator cap and the radiator and would call me when they found out what was wrong. From the shop I walked 1.5 miles home and as I opened up the front door the shop called me. They told me that the radiator and the cap were fine but the fan clutch needed to be replaced. They told me that it would cost $260 and that it would be ready at noon. I told them to start the job and call me when they were done. To their word they called a little before noon and told me my vehicle was ready. I walked back to the shop and when I arrived they explained what was done. They were very friendly and I felt the cost was very fair. Now I drive a 1994 Ford Explorer that has 284,000 miles on it. I always keep it well maintained. It's good to know that I found a honest auto shop that I can take it to if needed. So the next day I drove 264 miles home to Pasadena across the desert without a problem. Thank You Aatco
