Chateau La Cresta was hands down one of the most memorable dining experiences we've had in the Bay Area. Tucked into the hillside at The Mountain Winery, the restaurant occupies the historic 1901 chateau built by Paul Masson himself, you can feel the history in every stone archway and wine barrel accent. We were seated on the outdoor patio just as the sun started dipping behind the Santa Cruz Mountains, and the view alone was worth the drive-up Pierce Road. We had the 3-course meal that started with a delicious watermelon salad moved to mouth -watering salmon and finished with scrumptious lemon Tiramasu! Every dish was prepared with fresh, seasonal, local ingredients, and you could tell real care went into the pairing with their estate wines. Service was attentive, warm and well-paced without ever feeling rushed, even with the Gladys Knight concert full house that night. If you're heading to a show at the amphitheater, do yourself a favor and book dinner beforehand, it turns a concert into a full evening out of joy! Between the setting, the food, and the sheer beauty of the property, Chateau La Cresta earns every one of its 5 stars. We'll absolutely be back. read more

We had the pleasure of seeing the beautiful and talented Diana Ross last night. She put on an amazing show. I loved all the songs she sang and her beautiful outfits. To me, she still sounded amazing and looked amazing. She mentioned to the audience that she is 82 years old and honestly, it doesn't show. We have been to the mountain winery many times over the years for other concerts. Every new year they release a schedule of the upcoming concerts series. This venue is unique because it's small and more intimate. Every seat has an amazing view of the stage. They do have wine tasting tours on Saturdays. You can also purchase wine to enjoy during the concerts. They have several options for food. You can reserve a table at the Chateau La Cresta. The is a fine dining experience and offers guests a full sit-down 3-course meal, overlooking the breathtaking views of the valley. We have been to the Chateau La Cresta several times when we opted for the dinner and a show. The food is usually very good. The views from the Chateau deck are amazing. The last time we ate at to the Chateau was to see Daryl Hall, and our meal wasn't the best. All the other times we've had a meal here have been very good. Parking can get sparse the later you arrive. I recommend coming at least an hour before the event, especially if you need ADA parking. Getting out of the parking lot, after concert, gets very congested. They do have attendance handling the parking traffic, which helps. It can get chilly in the evening, so I recommend wearing layers or being a light jacket or sweater. Some people even bring blankets. I'm looking forward to see what the 2027 concert series has to offer. We will definitely be back next year. read more

We saw Fia here with a few island reggae/R&B openers, and the entire night felt magical. This is easily one of the nicest venues and overall vibes I've experienced for this type of show. The grounds are gorgeous -- towering redwoods, beautiful lighting, huge wine barrels, and incredible views out over Silicon Valley. There are all these tucked-away little areas to wander, grab a drink, and hang out, which makes the whole place feel like a thoughtfully curated experience rather than just a concert venue. The venue itself is huge, and nothing felt crowded or corporate. The aisles were clean and spacious, there were plenty of bars, plus wine, champagne, and beer carts circulating through the venue. The bar menu also had actual food, not just snacks. Restrooms were clean, parking was easy for us, and we were able to park surprisingly close to the entrance. Every single person we interacted with -- security, bartenders, and other staff -- was genuinely friendly and helpful. People went above and beyond to show us around, explain the different areas, and recommend good spots to hang out. The crowd and programming felt very Bay Area, right down to an MC who clearly knew his audience. Combined with perfect weather and barely any wind, it was just an incredible night. I'll definitely be watching their calendar for more shows that fit my vibe and would love to come back for a daytime wine tasting too. This place is a true hidden gem! Wow. The experience of watching a concert here is amazing. The seating is super comfortable, you have enough space between yourself and the person next to you. It's not crowded & if you are looking for a drink, there are at least 4 different place you can go to not including the restaurants on site. I would've loved to try some of the snacks and or food there but there was so much exploring around! The sight is unbelievable and I would definitely go here again. I've been to The Mountain Winery two times now, and both times have been great. The venue is absolutely beautiful. I love how intimate it feels compared to larger venues. I've only sat in the lower level, but honestly it looks like there isn't a bad seat in the house. The food was better than I expected, the staff were friendly and helpful, and I also noticed that the bar stayed open after the show. The only downside is getting out after the concert. Since it's basically a two-lane road down the mountain, traffic moves kinda slowly. That said, it's kind of expected for a venue like this and wasn't enough to take away from the overall experience. We were here for a show and didn't try the food or the wine but I don't know if I would come back for a show again. The parking was $30 and there unfortunately is only one way in and one way out. They are really ill equipped to host events. Their parking situation isn't great. They need to figure a solution out before selling a ton of tickets for very high prices They've a beautiful view and I loved the church stage and decent seating. We came to Mountain Winery in Saratoga for the ZZ Top concert, and what an amazing experience! The drive up the hill is beautiful, and once you get there, the winery and the surrounding views are absolutely gorgeous. The concert venue is very intimate, which makes seeing a great artist here feel extra special. They bring in some really good, well-known performers, and it's such a unique place to enjoy live music. There's plenty of patio space, a beer garden, a designated smoking area, food available for purchase, and different displays and setups depending on the show. They also have several restroom areas, and the entire property is kept very clean. The staff was super friendly and helpful, and everything about our visit was enjoyable. WARNING to others: We are never coming back here! It is no wonder there are so many bad reviews about their customer service and other issues. They wouldn't allow me to take my beautiful flower vase clutch into the venue, although it barely fits a few small makeup items and keys. The reason given was that the decorative flowers made the purse longer than their policy states. It fit into their sizing box. If I could take the flower portion off temporarily it could pass. I dined at Cucina Italiana and could not have been happier with the "dinner and a show" possibilities at this beautiful venue. I am looking forward to dining at the Chateau house next time. Roger Daltry performed for almost two hours yesterday and throughout the night I was treated to spectacular sights, sounds, smiles and eats. The Overlook lounge was a cool spot to grab a drink and relax in between sets and the service from everyone there was impeccable. But by far the best experience of the night was the chicken schnitzel and the salad at Cucina Italiana, set on a deck overlooking the stadium and watching the servers interact with the fans. I went to the Mountain Winery to watch an alt rock concert in October, which was an excellent time of the year to be outside for an outdoor concert when it's not super hot or cold. The venue is beautiful for stage performances, and it's not massive so almost every seat has a good view. I was about five rows away from the stage, and it was incredible to see my favorite band and singer up close! Food and beverages are expensive, but that's typical. I think a can of Coke was more than $5. Don't bother trying to get an Uber back at night from this venue. Ubers are allowed up to the venue for pick ups I think half an hour or an hour after the show ends. I also think Uber won't bother picking up people here because it's a single, narrow, winding road up the mountain, which causes a ton of traffic. So drive up to the venue, carpool with friends, purchase the shuttle ride in advance, or brave through that hell hole situation. read more

get down to it, experience at this venue is inconvenient, tickets cost depending on where you need to be, parking isn't cheap much less free, food/alcohol are best done if it matters before / after or at a picnic table outside the gate, the road up (and, therefore, down) is tedious though not imho particularly dangerous unless you're under the influence, and management of the crowd and traffic especially after dark lacks organization. but having listened to a lot of music at places like msg, red rocks, the greek in LA, avalon, fillmores, cbgb... an evening of powerful music here is better but it isn't for an average saturday night's entertainment, save it for something special... it's worth twice the price for the right seats. in my case, as a maturing moshpit headbanger from decades ago, this required seats maybe 15 feet from the right side of the stage. i nailed these three months ahead for a total price of about $500 for two, premium parking included. worth it. this was the second time i saw the jblze show, the first being last year's in napa. the mountain winery was much superior owing to both the medieval setting and the power of the sound system which was enough to blow your head away. i had thoughtfully brought along a set of earplugs for my associate's tender ears, but passed on the offer of free ones at the entry gate. my hearing not to mention other functions has survived massive assaults of self-destruction in the past so ear protection seems a bit late to me. i was here to encourage ear damage, with every screech, boom, thud of music from the hammer of the gods this group is the best of all ersatz led zep groups, and more than a "tribute band" owing to Jimmy Sakurai, a japanese guy who spent 30 years perfecting the live performance of guitarist jimmy page. "mr jimmy" while much too civilized to be page incarnate is for sure the absolute best at what he does. the experience is essential if you have any interest in knowing why the original band is still considered the progenitor, the ne plus ultra as it were, of modern heavy metal/blues rock. i won't go on lest i descend into mindless fandom. let's leave it the same as my previous review, if you failed to see the original led zeppelin in msg or wherever, back when it mattered, and you're curious, book tickets next time - one hopes they'll do it here again. read more

Staff were super friendly and helpful. They noticed my dad having a struggle with the stairs. They had a few empty ADA seats and offered them to us. So kind. Thank you. We waited in a massive line of cars for at least 40 minutes because someone drove a curve too quickly, dangled off a cliff, and needed a tow. No one came to tell us what was happening so folks got out of their cars to investigate - and they spread the news like Paul Revere lol Also, take all the crazy surcharge and parking money you make and install guardrails, Mountain Winery! I had the most amazing evening at The Mountain Winery. It started with the courteous parking attendants after I survived the exhilarating drive up the mountain. I have never had such great service parking my beast of an SUV! It had never been a pleasure parking that thing; however, this time it was. The walk to the venue is beautiful surrounded by oak trees and wine barrels. Then the dinner!!!! I chose La Cucina Italiana and was not disappointed. The staff was excellent providing great service without be overly present. I was on a date and this was important. The terrace where I ate was charming; I could have skipped the show just to sit there all night. The food was delicious. I am a fan of Italian food and can be very picky and I will definitely eat there again. The restaurant is so close to the amphitheater that I could just walk a few steps to enjoy the show! My family and I came here for the first time this past Friday for the Andy Grammar concert. I've grown up in the Bay Area and I honestly had no idea this venue existed until a few years ago. This venue is located off Highway 9 and the scenery is stunning. Especially on a cool summer evening. We purchased Box seats for the event and it came with a VIP parking pass. VIP parking is $50 which is steep. This came in handy post-concert and made for an easy exit out of the venue. Special shoutout to Phuong Nguyen who was directing traffic that day. He was extremely personable and offered to take a group photo for us. He whipped out a microfiber cloth out of nowhere to ensure a picture perfect memory. We had access to Club Masson which we were told includes free food and drink. It ended up just being light appetizers and a cash bar. I grabbed a bag of Ms. Vickie chips to snack on and didn't realize that they were expired until I was done with the bag. SMH. For as much as we paid for the Box seats, they should've at the very least ensured that none of the food served was expired. Concessions are pricey here. Club Masson was underwhelming so we ended up going back to the ground level to purchase food and drinks. The two ladies that worked behind the concessions stand could not have been more unpleasant. Minus 1 star for their terrible attitudes. None of them wear name tags otherwise I would have singled them both out. They're sending 50% of the line back to their car due to the small bags that people have that don't meet the new bag guidelines. Bags that get me into every sports arena and stadium in SF no longer work at the winery :/ Also, there is very little gluten free food on offer (especially if you're looking for dinner that goes beyond a bag of chips) and yet, they don't allow outside food in. Finally, the irony is that the winery's wines are really bad, so I choose a Moscow mule every time instead, even when they only have ginger ale available, not ginger beer. 10/10 recommend any other venue over Mountain Winery. read more

I brought my wife to the Mountain Winery today for her birthday. What a disappointment. We experienced staff saying NO at every encounter. NO you can't pay cash to enter the parking lot. NO you can't tailgate or picnic in the parking lot. NO you can't bring a purse larger than 6"x9" through security. NO you can't stand in the VIP bar area to get a glimpse of the venue. There was a time not long ago when patrons would arrive early, spread a blanket on the grassy slope, open a bottle of wine and enjoy a picnic with a spectacular view. In the venue, sitting on folding chairs and wooden benches was fine, part of the experience. Today if you want to picnic, you must do it in your car or hike your picnic basket through the huge, dangerously side-sloped parking lot to a small group of picnic tables nearest the entrance. Then you schlep your stuff back to the car to stow it, then hike back to the entrance. If you want to dine at their white table-cloth restaurant with a view, don't bother trying to find the price for their prix-fixe dinner on the website, because they don't publish it https://www.mountainwinery.com/dining/ A few years ago they implemented a loyalty program that requires you to buy tickets to four events in order to have access to good tickets for THE NEXT SEASON. Between the scalpers, loyalty members and those able to drop $300+ a ticket for premium bundles, it's no longer easy to get tickets in sections 1&2. If you wait until the band's encore is finished, it will take you about an hour to get out of the upper parking lot. It's just too hard. The only people we found saying YES were selling cups of wine for $23 and a medium size chocolate cookie for $9 before tip! As a patron for 25 years, I'm truly sorry to say goodbye, but there are too many more venues that make me feel valued and respected, and I'll gladly give them my entertainment budget. read more

I really enjoy a smaller venue to see classic artists perform and was so excited to purchase tickets for Boz Scaggs for 10/28/25. We had tickets to see him in San Diego at Humphreys about two years ago, however the event was canceled due to Hurricane Hillary. Several months ago, when I saw he was going to be back at Humphries, and at the Mountain Winery in October 2025, I was really excited because while I have been to Humphreys, I had never been to Mountain Winery. I had seen photos of the venue over the years and was thrilled at the chance to attend a show. The evening before the event, I spent the better part of an hour reading Yelp reviews and learning of others' experiences. From this I came away with the food being mediocre and the drinks expensive. This was great information, and we adjusted our plan accordingly by eating and drinking elsewhere before the event, The drive up the mountain was pleasant, with a two-lane road with lovely homes flanking the roadway. I had purchased parking with our tickets, which made things very easy and convenient. We arrived just shortly before the opening performer, so we did not walk around the venue too much, and with sundown at 6:15, we did get to enjoy some night views of the Silicon Valley. A common theme amongst reviewers and folks we talked to before the show was that there isn't a bad seat in the house, and it is a favorite venue of many, holding a little less than 3,000 people, which is perfect. I was concerned about cool weather, so I took the advice of others and layered with a long sleeve shirt and a wind breaker, which was perfect. It was a lovely evening, no wind, so we were not impacted by the weather. As far as the performance goes, this was my first time seeing Boz Scaggs. He is in his early 80s and was OUTSTANDING. He sounds just as good as he did in the 70s and 80s and put on a wonderful performance. A true artist whose voice has stood firm on the test of time. Super impressive with a very talented bandmates, and the opening act by Jeff LeBlanc. The sound, lighting, and set list was on target, and he played for two solid hours with no break. I truly hope I can see Boz perform again in the coming years. We sat in section 22, with great views of the stage and uninterrupted sound. In leaving the venue, it wasn't nearly as disastrous as others have reported. We parked in VIP, and other than having to wait for first responders to make their way up the hill (not sure what happened) we were making our way down the hill with no issues. I look forward to the 2026 Concert Series and returning to Mountain Winery! read more

Not only are you dropped into the most magical spot, but there's also wine and music....doesn't get much better than that. Had the chance to attend 2 concerts here about a week apart this month, and they did not disappoint! The last time I was here was 2017 so it had been a minute! If you're not prepared ahead of time, the first thing that might surprise you is that parking is $25 when you arrive. Thankfully I'd pre-purchased online and my hubby and I arrived early so parking was easy. Once we went through security and the entrance, where you're already delightfully smacked in the face with gorgeous views of the winery, the valley and the super cool music venue, we were also greeted left and right by the friendliest, nicest employees and staff ever! Everyone seemed so happy to be working there, it truly was a breath of fresh air! We even had some fun conversations with a couple of the seat ushers too! A big thank you to everyone that was working the One Republic and Common Kings shows (10/3/24 & 10/12/24)! We heard/read that food and drinks here are extra pricey, and if you take a peek at the drink menu photo I added to this review, that'll give you an idea of just how pricey things really are. No outside food is allowed in of course. Glad to see that there were a few vegan options onsite, but we ate before arriving so we didn't try any of their f&b. Leaving a show here can be very tricky since there's just 1 narrow & very windy road in & out of this place, so either leave a little early or practice immense patience lol! Overall, we had an awesome time at both shows and would definitely recommend Mountain Winery for concerts! Great acoustics too and just a really cool, intimate live music experience! Best Concert Venue!!! This review is solely about the concert venue at Mountain Winery. I have not tried their wine so cannot speak on that. I have been to several concerts here and it doesn't get old. It's magical coming here in the evenings when the sun is setting and the music starts playing. My only issue with this place is the parking and concert drink prices are very expensive. Parking is simple and easy, checking in is a breeze, and everywhere you look there are beautiful views of the Bay Area. Everyone who works there is helpful during concert nights. The place was packed, but with premium tickets was able to park near the entrance. You can eat or drink here before the event begins. The building architecture and lights delivered a romantic vibe. Air Supply put on an amazing concert. The sound quality and the outdoor scenic view made a great atmosphere. Last time it took us 30 mins with traffic inching forward as everyone came in just at the show time. So we went early this time. And also to eat something before the show. We had to buy separate parking tickets. The staff is very friendly. And we learnt you cannot take big bags unless it is clear. The food and drink service was quick. Nothing gourmet, slightly expensive. The seating has good views to the stage even though we were way back. However it was cold . Do carry warm clothing , gloves, caps and socks as it can get quite windy after 8PM. Last time we had a better experience as the weather was warmer. Of course like any other venue some are better and that is reflected in the price. We are fortunate to have this venue. Coming to the Mountain Winery is one of the worst experiences I have ever had. I got tickets for John Mullaney and a pre-show dinner at the Chateau La Cresta. Let's start with the fact that all their restaurant seating was outdoors, with no space heaters of any kind, even though it was extremely cold and there was a very strong wind. The food was incredibly mediocre for the price, especially considering that it was barely lukewarm when it was served. Given that the frigid wind would do an extremely efficient job of chilling the food within minutes, you'd think they'd make some effort to serve it hot. I got butternut squash soup that had clearly been sitting out, as it had formed a skin on the top. We ordered wine pairings with our dinner but the wine never managed to come with the food. They also tried to bring us our desserts before our entrées. There was a very high staff-to-customer ratio, so it was really quite shocking that the service managed to be so poor and so slow. And, hailing from a different part of California wine country, let me add the wine was not good. The amphitheatre where the performance was held was quite pretty. Still freezing, but pretty. By far the worst part of this experience, however, is that if you have the inconceivable temerity to take a rideshare to an event here, you aren't allowed to leave. They refuse to let any cars enter the winery to pick anyone up before entirely clearing out the parking lot. Um....What?? What place, serving alcohol no less, penalizes you for not driving there by trapping you there until everyone else has left? The show ended an hour ago. I am still sitting here watching the most incompetently managed flow of traffic I have ever seen. I think they hire teenagers to staff the parking lot. They periodically scream at one another. There is no water available as people are made to wait here with no end in sight. We might never get home. I suggest avoiding this place at all costs. But if you do come here, know these things: Bring your belongings in a clear bag Bring a subzero-rated jacket and a blanket Eat food in Saratoga proper And if you want to be able to actually check out of the hotel california, drive yourself, and don't bother drinking. read more

I was made very uncomfortable by the employee who helped us pick out wine. He made comments about owning his own home close by and how he could always be naked and kept mentioning being nude. I didn't even know what to say or how to react, as I was with my family. I was at the counter by myself and waiting for my wine to be poured by him. It ruined the whole experience. Also over heard him complain about drunk people his exact words after speaking to someone over the phone, seemed very unprofessional to say when customers are right next to him, made me wonder what he would say about us. I didn't feel comfortable dealing with him anymore and sent my husband after that. Overall ruined what should have been a great 4th of July. Didn't feel comfortable mentioning to anyone as there was only two employees him being one of them. I had my children with me and didn't know how he would react and his behavior already was very unprofessional and I was worried about my kids being present if I mentioned it. read more

This mountainside Saratoga venue got me absolutely speechless! The Mountain Winery is having a summer concert series until the end of October. Lineup can be found on their website. Came here on a Tuesday night (7/23) to see Ben Platt. General parking was $25 cash or card. Upon entering the venue, you'll see a harvest of grapes with a beautiful aerial view of the city. Security check and will call lines weren't too long of a wait. Since my boyfriend and I came here immediately after work, we shared a Margherita pizza which was perfect for two. The pizza was fresh, cheesy, and had a perfect chewy crust. Their speciality cocktail, estate Chardonnay, and estate Pinot noir were all really good drinks to sip on during the show. Ben Platt was amazing!! The show was entertaining and lively from start to finish. Customer service was top-notch and the workers were all super friendly. The drive up wasn't too difficult as well. Definitely coming back here for another music event or for a weekend wine tasting experience. read more

Horrible management! Such a shame great venue but when it comes to customer service they could care less.

A great venue for an evening concert. We were there late Oct. 2025 to see Boz Scaggs. The ushers were all so kind. I was a few weeks post knee replacement, they got a golf cart driver for us . Parked as close as he could then helped my husband as he held one arm and the driver held the other so I could walk a bit more effortlessly. read more
