We are just out of the area for Mower Man services, but it is worth it to pay the little bit extra. They are prompt, efficient and do a great job. We've used them to prepare our snow blower the last three years. Next year I am going to have them come and pre-seasonally prep our mower but so far we've used them for our snow blower. 1. They do a great prep job, run the machine and make sure everything is working as it should. 2. The professional who came to the house was very nice and explained everything he did! Technician Chris repaired a broken blade drive belt ($294), it came off and I called them again to fix. He returned advised it was the wrong belt, ordered another and installed ($40). It came off again. When I called the office they advised Chris didn't know what to do to fix the problem and he wouldn't return to fix. Office advised that he was their best tech and wouldn't send another. Have called repeatedly, got answering machine, left message, no response, tried calling the owner and no response from him either. Stay away, find someone else!! read more

I used The Mower Man to repair a portable generator. The first meeting went well, but the follow-up was very disappointing. I was told I needed a new carburetor, that they would order one and contact me to install it. ONE MONTH LATER, after several phone calls and emails to them, they have completely ghosted me. This got weird fast! Chris showed up to replace a belt on my ride on mower. He was playing hard rock on his phone, which he didn't turn off when we were talking about the situation with the mower, I was talking over the music, it was just strange. He told me it was a hard job and he really didn't want to do it and that is might cost more than the standard fee. I didn't care, I just needed it fixed. After an hour I went out to see how things were going and he had gone, vanished. I called the office, they said they were ordering new belts and he would come back in a couple of days. Chris showed up a couple of days later, again telling me how hard the job was going to be. I kept checking on him and he said he was making some progress but it was again, a very hard job. After about 5 hours Chris knocked on my door and as I opened it he turned and started walking away, with his back to me he said, 'I can't get it', he explained he couldn't figure out was wrong and that a spring or something was missing... this lead to a complete meltdown. Chris was ranting about how hard the job was and that he told me he didn't want to do the job and he never should have taken it on and he would try and come back in a few days maybe, he suggested that I lost the spring when the belt first came off... I told you it got weird. He wasn't hanging around, he drove away mid rant. I called the office. Chris is the owner. I have not been charged anything yet. read more

I contacted this company to come out and fix my riding mower. I knew it probably needed a tune-up. The mower worked last season. That being said, the technician, Chris, did not knock on the door to let me know he was starting work. You would think that since it was a residence, he would have made his presence known. I wanted to understand what was wrong with the mower while he was working on it. He didn't start the mower, since I know the battery was dead (I purchased a new battery for them to install). Though I am not a mechanic, I find it hard to conduct a proper assessment without even starting the unit. The only way I knew they were on site was when I got a text, saying I was charged $100. Then I jumped up to see what was going on and happened to catch him in my driveway. My son flagged him down so he could tell us what was wrong. When I looked at the mower, it didn't look like anything was touched. This was an awful experience. I just wasted $100. I would not recommend. Definitely need to work on their on site customer service. read more

We scheduled with Chris to repair our snow blower. He stated it needed a carburetor. He returned to install the part a few weeks later. He stated he could not repair the snow blower. My husband looked at the snow blower and noticed it was missing several screws. The snowblower is not able to be pushed forward. read more

I've had very good experiences with the Mowerman for the past 10 years or so. They service my lawn mower once a year during the off season. My mower cranks up every time. So nice that all I have to do is fill it with gas and pull the cord. Thanks, Mowerman!! read more

The mechanic was nice. But for the fee of $75 "he worked on my lawn mower" for 1 hour and was not able to get it started. He said he'd check back with me but never did. Waste of money! Unless you need oil change or regular checkup. read more

Shawn was easy to work with and efficient. The self-propel function stopped working and I did not want to take it in to Ace where they would not get to it for a month and then charge over $200 to start with. Shawn came out and really had to work with the mower to disasemble and reassemble it correcty. He did so and had the self-propel working again. As I had orderd the belt myself, I was only charged the quoted fee of $109. After I started mowing later that day, it stopped woprking in 15 minutes. Shawn came back out two days later and fixed the slipped tension wire, showed me how to do so if it happens again and had me back in business with no additional charge. I will use their services again. Scheduling over the phone with Silver was an easy process as well. read more

We originally hired Chris to repair our snow blower. He was upfront about parts not being available due to its age, and that if repair of the part we needed was not successful we would need to buy a new snow blower. Due to his honesty we hired Mowerman to cover the fascia around our home with vinyl. Chris was not good at explaining the color scheme. When we made our color choice we were not told there would be a white stripe in the middle of our gold two stories home. Chris's workmen completed the work while we were out-of-town and when we returned we were shocked to see the stripe. Chris suggested the white stripe be painted gold vs. recovering. I expressed my concern of the paint not holding up and peeling off the vinyl and he said to call him if we had any problems. To do this job the gutters on our home needed to be removed and then hung again. When the Mowerman workmen hung the gutters they put them up at a different slope causing water to leak in our home over the rear sliding glass door. When we contacted Chris about the problem his workman had caused he would only do the repair for pay. I strongly encourage you to look elsewhere for home repair as Mowerman does not stand behind their work. read more

We have used Mower Man for a long time with a 4 year break because my mom was doing some of the maintenance, like new spark plugs and checking the oil. The thing is, every mower needs a thorough tune up every year, so we gave them a call. We've had ours since the 80s and it was bought at Hechinger's. Thanks to Chris at Mower Man and my mom maintaining our mower, it still runs really well and is in good shape. Chris came today, sharpened the blades, changed the oil & spark plug, thoroughly cleaned it, checked the filter, etc... and our mower is still in amazing condition while our neighbors seem to go through mowers quite often. We've always had good experiences with these guys. Most recently (last week): I called and left a voicemail requesting an appointment for someone to come service our lawn mower. They called back the next morning and scheduled for the following week, handled payment by phone and confirmed that this would be a contactless visit/transaction. I got a confirmation text the day before with the mechanic's phone number in case I needed to reach him since I wouldn't be home. We left the shed accessible for him, he texted me to let me know when he got there and again to let me know when he was done. We talked briefly on the phone after so he could give me a run down of what was done (new spark plugs, drained very old oil and replaced, sharpened blades, added stabilizer to gas, tuned up, etc) all for a shockingly reasonable price. I Had a horrible experience with the mower man. Customer service was terrible. Sent technician who had poor customer service skills. Diagnosed as muffler replacement when it was a deck issue. Asked me to order the part which is pathetic. I thought I hired them to fix the tractor. After a 2 week delay he came back with the muffler and I replaced. Then left without talking to us about what he had done. Left a receipt that was eligible and charged our credit card with no explanation. Repair was incorrect. Owner came out weeks later and acted like it was my fault the whole time. There was a deck issue that owner suggested I get wielded. He gave me the name but asked me to take care of it. Then owner came back and attached the deck incorrectly. Again blaming the customer and acting like it was my problem. Telling me to buy a new tractor. I can't imagine what it is like if he is doing home repairs. Totally incompetent. read more

Here is my experience with "The Mowerman". * 29 Oct, The Mowerman (Omar) returned my call, in my request for service on my snowblower. We proceeded to correspond via email, after that. I prefer email...less misunderstandings that way. * 4 Nov, The Mowerman (Omar) and I agreed that he would send a mechanic to my home to service my snowblower on 19 Nov. * 18 Nov, I got a note from the Mowerman (Omar) verifying my appointment for the next day. * 19 Nov, neither the Mowerman (Omar) nor his rep showed up for the appointment. I took a day off from work for this appointment, by the way. I called and sent several notes that day pm asking "why neither he nor his representative showed for our scheduled appointment, and if he still wanted my business". I heard nothing back from him. * 24 Nov, still nothing heard from the Mowerman (Omar), after I sent another email asking for an appointment. In summary, I made an appointment with this business and took a day off from my job to accommodate their schedule. Neither the Mowerman (Omar) nor his rep showed up to the scheduled appointment. I will find another service provider for my snowblower, or I will do without. I am very disappointed. Bernard F. read more

My dad used their services a few years ago when he had his Montgomery Ward tractor. He paid $80 to have them come out and diagnose the issue. If you go ahead with the service, the $80 goes toward the repair. Mower Man came out, told him the problem and my dad decided it wasn't worth fixing the tractor at the time (remember - it was from Montgomery Ward so you can imagine how old it was). He decided not to repair the tractor and paid the Mower Man the $80 for coming out. As a consumer, I think this is everyone's right to decline services. This week, he called for a quote on his new tractor and left several messages. The voicemail tells you not to leave a message, instead call back because they are busy. He tried calling a few times and then a few days later got a call back, "Is this Mr. So-and-so?". They told him they would charge a minimum of $500, $250 just to come out and another $250 for a mandatory tune-up. Once they diagnose the issue, parts and labor are additional depending on the problem. Still, my dad asked about availability. They wouldn't be able to come out until next week, at which time my dad won't be around to chat or to pay for the $500. So he said he'd leave the check with the attendant that lives in the house. Mower Man argued that they would not come to the door and we would need to leave a check on the tractor for them to even come out. WTF?! Seriously? Turns out they made a negative comment on his account from the previous house call (on the Montgomery Ward old a$$ tractor) and claimed my dad cancelled service. Wow. Sounds like they were holding a grudge like little school children and not a professional business. They were very rude and curt to my dad. I am terribly disappointed that any small business, let alone a grown-up, would treat a customer - potential business - in such a manner. Shame on you Mower Man. I'll make sure I tell everyone I know about this experience. And as most of us college educated folks learn in business 101, each person tells 2 people, and they tell 2more people and so on and so on....Doesn't take a genius to understand how the American economy works, right? My lawn tractor wouldn't start and I had determined it was not something I could fix myself. In the past, i had fixed at Zimmerman's but they have to come and get the tractor so it takes time and can get very expensive. I found The Mower Man online and they were great. They were able to come out in just a few days and were able to diagnose and fix the problem that day. The tractor has been running great ever since and I love knowing that future repairs and tune ups can be done at my home. read more

We hired The Mowerman to troubleshoot and repair a 24" Craftsman snowblower that was still under warranty, but was never able to start. The engine manufacturer (MTD - Chinese) would not honor the Craftsman warranty. The Mowerman (an MTD authorized dealer), at their own cost, took the engine apart and found pet food impacting the carburator intake compartment, completely blocking airflow to the engine. Their efforts took several hours to complete. Needless to say, we are a customer for life. read more

Don't waste time and money, like I did. Years of frustration, mowerman was unable to fix and indeed, couldn't even tell when the lawn tractor just needed a new belt (one that was worn to 1/3 of it's original thickness). Late last year I had Sears come out. They fixed it and it ran for the remainder of last year (*not* ever happening with mowerman). Tractor sat all winter under a tarp. Just went out and it started right up, mowed some grass due to Sears maintenance. That *never* happened with mowerman, even when they came out 6+ times annually ( and charged) and kept me waiting for weeks on 'parts' that were ordered. Same lawn tractor! Man, why did I wait so long? Sears is the way to go. read more

Chris is not a professional. He did about half the work he charged me for, and became very hostile when I called him out on his lack of service. He even called my tractor a piece of junk and told me it wasn't worth repairing AFTER he had done the repair. He also tried to overcharge me for the parts he ordered. We've been using the The Mower Man for the past several years. We have been happy with the service up until this year. We called them to do a repair and tune up on our lawn mower. The repair was done and we were still having trouble starting the mower. We finally got them to come back. They charged us again for another repair and yet the mower is still very hard to start. When I called today to ask if they could come back and make it right I could not be given a guarantee that we would not be charged a third time. We won't be using this service again. read more

So Easy!! If you want to take care of your lawn equipment/ snow blower, There is no reason to lug it in your car or van and then wait a week so you can lug it back. These guys come to your home ( you can even leave it outside and they will fix it while you are at work). The repairman was courteous, clean and thorough. What a waste of my time!! I tried The Mower Man because of the good reviews. I phoned and specified to Pat EXACTLY what was wrong with my lawn tractor: an oil leak at the crankcase gasket. She gave me a price of $265 plus parts. My wife stayed home to be there for the repair. When the Mower Man mechanic showed up,, he said I had an oil leak at the crankcase gasket. That was a big job and he'd have to charge me over "at least four-hundred-something" dollars plus parts. He admitted that the repair was exactly what I had agreed with Pat, but Pat just hadn't charged me enough money. Neither he nor Pat would listen when I protested that a deal was a deal and that's why they got the job. My wife had stayed home to be there. The mechanic left without doing any work and I had to call Sears Home Services. What colossal a waste of time!!!!!!!! read more
