I cannot hype the MV Skansonia enough!!! This is truly one of the most magical, affordable, and perfect venues in Seattle. They made our day PERFECT. Highlights: - View is UNREAL. It was important to us to have a classic Seattle, show-stopping view for our out of town guests. This one is hard to beat. - The classic Seattle ferry boat is so unique. Chances are your guests haven't been to a wedding like that before and I wanted to be unique. The inside is recently remodeled, spacious, charming, and has great string lights/portholes. - The venue is mostly all inclusive. I didn't have to find my own florist, caterer, furniture rentals, etc. And everyone they partner with is incredible. We did have to bring our own DJ, officiant, and any extras (such as a photo booth). - We found this venue to be more cost effective than going a la carte at other city venues. We could have gone cheaper outside the city limits but it was very key for us to be in actual Seattle. - Finni, the planner/coordinator, is the best of the BEST. She is included with the venue and is incredible. She had so much advice, answered a million questions, and took care of so much of the work!!!! Love you, Finni. This venue is a must see. If you are looking for classic Seattle but still right in the city and you want to do minimal planning by yourself, THIS IS IT!

Beautiful venue!!!! My friend just hosted the most beautiful birthday bash in this venue last week. Black tie, glitzy, bling, amazing views, open bar! And dance floor with lake union views all around!! The best!! Love having friends that go all out for birthday!! As we all should. There were close to 200 of us and most of us did take uber. The place is hidden from the street but it's behind the boats. It is a boat!! It doesn't leave! It's massive, expansive views! Oh so pretty inside!! We had a huge bar, dance floor, casino, buffet area, eating area. It was a pretty big spot! Love it! And I can see my house from here! Bonus! The food kept on coming! Kitchen crew my girlfriend got was fantastic. Evan the bar staff! Can't think of a better venue for private event! Gorgeous! Fun! An evening to remember for sure! And those views!!!

Skansonia--highly recommend! We were looking for a Seattle venue for our wedding that had a scenic view, offered tasty food, and was affordable. Location/View The Skansonia is on Lake Union and provides a great view of the lake and downtown. Indoor/outdoor One of the best features of the Skansonia is that the venue is versatile. We knew if the weather was sunny, we could enjoy cocktails with our guests and hold the wedding service outside, on the bow of the Skansonia, surrounded by views of Lake Union and the Seattle skyline. But if it rained, the interior of the Skansonia would be an excellent indoor alternative with its wood work and natural light. Food & Beverages The food was amazing! All of our guests were raving about the food served at our wedding. Attending a tasting (before the wedding) was helpful in planning our menu. That being said--everything they offered was tasty. Bar service was great and well staffed. While planning our special day, Skansonia staff suggested having a signature cocktail. We loved the idea; it was well implemented and the guests were all impressed. Service The team at Skansonia was super helpful with planning and implementing our wedding plans. We appreciated their helpful attitude, prompt communication, and thoughtful ideas. Flowers and the cake It was great knowing the team at Skansonia would be able to take care of the flowers and the cake. No worries about working with additional vendors and day-of delivery. We worked with the Skansonia florist and were wowed by the seasonal flowers she selected. The cake was tasty and enjoyed by all guests. I can definitely say that Skansonia played a big part in making our wedding day memorable and fun--to the wedding couple and guests alike. Thank you, Skansonia! Mike and Jef

What an awesome place to have our wedding! The day was perfect and we couldn't have felt more supported than we were with Finni and her team. She did a wonderful job, always willing to help and so patient throughout the whole process. She was extremely accommodating and so helpful throughout the whole day. The venue was gorgeous and the food and dessert were excellent. We lucked out with beautiful weather and our guests, who were mostly from out of Seattle, couldn't stop talking about the venue. I highly recommend this venue, and this staff, if you're looking to get married. Finni and team - thanks so much for helping make our special day perfect!

View of Lake Union? Check Breathtaking sunset on the water? Check A historic venue that makes you feel like you're attending a Disney princess's wedding? Double Check How can such a wonderfully romantic wedding venue be tucked away next to Ivar's Salmon House and a bunch of random little boats? I attended a friend's wedding here yesterday evening and although it was October, the weather was perfection and the MV Skansonia has an indoor/outdoor portion ready for just about anything (except maybe typhoons). The ceremony portion was held at the bow of the boat and the seating room is rather limited but perfect for more intimate weddings. There's a dining area as well as a dance floor to boogie down to Spice Girls and Backstreet Boys (okay, that was closer to the end of the evening). The staff was courteous, the wine glasses were never empty, the buffet was fresh and in the end, it all came down to ambiance. The only hiccup was when I almost fell off my chair because the vessel was slightly slanted - how embarrassing would that have been? But all you future brides, definitely consider this location if you plan to have a wedding with just a few dozen of your nearest and dearest. You'll get the most gorgeous views of the Seattle skyline, a chance to celebrate your special day on a vessel boasting with local history ... and HELLO, you're getting married on a boat! Cheers!

I attended a wedding here yesterday night. I had driven along North Lake many many times, and had never seen this place until Saturday when my brother (the groom) needed help unloading some stuff onto the boat. Probably the best thing about this place is the view. Since it's at the north end of Lake Union, you get a gorgeous view of downtown and a nice view looking down the cut. I took probably too many photos of it (soon to be posted to my flickr account, FYI), but I can't help mahself! The ceremony is at the front of the boat, outdoors, and very limited seating. Many guests stood for the ceremony which in this case was not too bad, as the weather kind of sucked so the officiant cut out a lot to get people back inside. The people who worked here also made it seamless. I hardly noticed them at all, which for a wedding, that's the way it should be! I enjoyed my time there, a little cold, but happy.

09.08.2007 - Sunset ceremony panaroma from upper deck of the Skansonia

A week ago I was the Maid of Honor/ObligatoryWedding Planner at my sister's wedding on the Skansonia. The wedding was absolutely perfect, sunset ceremony (see pictures) at 7:30 PM followed by a buffet dinner and reception on the boat. The staff at the Skansonia are lifesavers! We met with them several times before the wedding and felt very welcomed and taken care of. Like the wedding experts that they are, they take care of all the details that first-time wedding planners like us forget, recommendations, when to cut the cake, when to do the first dance, etc. Ceremony was on the deck, we lucked out on the weather but if not there's enough space inside as a back-up. About 40 guests were seated and the rest stood in back or on the upper deck looking down which worked out fine. We had a harpist play the wedding music and it was lovely! We opted for the buffet dinner, the salmon is DELICIOUS (I recommend going to one of the few tasting days during the year... ) and my mom brought a signature dish, summer noodles. One of the pro's for the Skansonia is that they allow you to bring your own beer and wine - a huge cash saver, other venues charge you an arm and leg for their house wine. The Skansonia staff recommended only one keg - we thought our friends and families were bigger drinkers and bought 3 kegs... we didn't even finish 2. Highlight of the night: Not sure if this is a Skansonia first but it's a story worth sharing! Despite finishing all the alcohol we had one friend make the groom's night by jumping overboard from the top deck! Wouldn't recommend it (who knows what's in the murky Lake Union waters??) but definitely a story to remember.

They say that your wedding day is meant to be one of the best days of your life.. Thanks so much to Vicki, event specialist at MV Skansonia, for helping to make our wedding day the greatest day of our lives. First, you are delightful to be around and having you there on the wedding day coordinating everything was amazing! I loved my flowers from Lake Union Custom floral (their vendor) so much, they were so beautiful and exactly what we discussed and what I envisioned. All of the small details, you made them happen. I literally had the best time of my life, I wish I could press the rewind button!! Our wedding cake from Lake Union Custom Bakery, again, my description communicated by email come to life and more beautiful than I expected. My expectations were EXCEEDED. What a perfect perfect day. Thank you so much!! Margarita and Lorenzo p.s to all brides out there, I had such a wonderful experience with Skansonia (Vicki, Victoria and Mikaela... Lake Union Custom Bakery, Lake Union Cafe). I'm stilllllll in awe of the day.

We worked with her in a day-of-coordinator capacity, in which she had multiple meeting with us before the wedding, sent us a Google Drive full of organizational resources that made our planning so smooth, reviewed all our vendor contracts, and answered random wedding industry-related questions that we had. On the day before our wedding, we had a venue walk-through with her, in which she coordinated details with the venue liaison, and she also led rehearsal. What is most worth your investment is what happens on the day-of. I told Emily my goal was to not make any decisions that day except how many slices of cake I was going to have, and that's exactly what happened. She took care of everything - set up, tear down, vendor coordination, decor, helping to wrangle family for photos, the flow of the evening, the rhythm of the processional, and I'm sure she did a thousand other things we didn't even notice. At one point in the night I asked for a pen and she appeared 5 seconds later with one in hand. From the beginning Megan has been one of the most reassuring and comforting things about wedding planning. If not the only thing at times. Megan paid for herself at our very first meeting with our location and catering vendor. She saw something in the signed contract that entailed us to a better food package. Not just better food selections but more of it. When the vendor said it was a typo and they would fix it she said 'nope this is the contract that you had them sign. Typo or not you need to stick to this, they are entitled to this food at this price.' At that point in wedding planning i was so beyond exhausted i absolutely would have just rolled over and let the vendor adjust the signed contract. She stuck to her guns and we got the benefit of it. We are not Washington natives and our wedding is in Washington so that presented us a unique set of challenges in planning our wedding. We felt compelled to hire a coordinator that is local, and has experience with the venue we chose which is why Krisanna was our prime option. Planning: We officially started working with Krisanna about 3 months out of the wedding date if memory serves. She kept us organized and curated a list of all our vendors with contacts and created a wedding timeline with details for us. As we approached the wedding date we were able to slowly take our foot off the pedal and allow her to drive for us which was helpful. Overtime the she was almost 100% in charge of dealing with the vendors and only came to us with important decisions. She's well versed with our venues guidelines and layout, so she would intentionally call out pitfalls that we can easily avoid due to the institutional knowledge that she has which we really appreciated. She's responsive over text and emails when we has questions or thoughts we wanted to communicate to her. Execution: Fast forward to the day of the wedding, we literally didn't keep our phones on us at all since she's the main point of contact for the day. We were able to enjoy the day without having to bear any logistical burden knowing that she's around. Overall: 100% you need to hire Krisanna for your wedding. The moment I met Krisanna, I knew she would make my dreams come true. I was chaotic and had no clear ideas, but I did have a few very hard requests: I wanted color, I wanted texture, and I wanted everything to be cohesive, all wrapped up in an intimate dinner party feel. Oh, and lots of string lights!! She was grounding throughout the entire planning process and made accommodations more times than I can count. Honestly, I've lost track of everything she pulled off. To give you a small taste: our guest list fluctuated so much that she spent hours reworking the schematics just to fit everyone in the reception space I had envisioned. Then we changed that layout again about a month ish before the wedding. I also completely changed the ceremony site on her two weeks before the big day. We were extremely late deciding on catering. And on top of all of this, I had a medical emergency that lasted two hours on the wedding day. It probably sounds like I was a bridezilla, but not once did she hesitate to be kind, gentle, and compassionate. She was so communicative and generous with her time, always answering messages promptly even when I would flood her phone with every intrusive thought or idea at the most ridiculous times of day. She didn't just take on the role of coordinator. She was my sounding board, my designer, my counselor when I needed to rant, my project manager, all the things, all at once. She even designed all of our stationery and day-of signage. Like, how? How can one person do it all?!?! So many people told me it was the best wedding they'd ever attended, and the design and flow of the day were immaculate- and that is in huge part thanks to her!! Krisanna, thank you so much. We had the pleasure of working with New Creations Wedding/Rebecca Grant for not one, but TWO of our weddings. We had initially planned our wedding overseas but had to cancel the wedding due to COVID in 2020. I reached out to a dozen wedding planners in the local area, with no luck finding someone who could help us plan a COVID-friendly wedding. Rebecca, however, quickly accepted the task. Unfortunately, that plan also changed when further COVID restrictions limited the number of guests. We decided to book Rebecca to plan our beautiful elopement on Whidbey Island and had her marry us. She even managed to tell the weather to give us a gorgeous day in October!!! One year later, and with a baby on the way, we decided it might be a good idea to try to have a wedding celebration - FINALLY. We had zero ideas of what we wanted but knew we needed Rebecca to take over all details because our focus was planning for the baby. Rebecca made sure we got as many decisions out of the way as possible early on to have a wedding-free postpartum period. When it came closer to the wedding, this is where I witnessed her magic in finalizing every detail, communicating clearly with every vendor, and making the wedding finally happen. Additionally, she gracefully managed our guest count, which went from 100-130 to 175. I barely had time to spend a minute of my mind-space on the wedding because of our new family and often questioned myself, "why was I planning a wedding?" but man, did Rebecca deliver the most stunning, chic, and fun party. The circumstances around our wedding experience were not common, planning a wedding while trying to raise a new baby, but I would not hesitate to hire Rebecca again. There are so many details about a wedding that you don't even think about until you are in it, when you realize, "I'm so happy I hired Rebecca to take care of this." Rebecca is someone you can trust to get the work done; you will be wowed by what she delivers.

Working with Amber was hands down THE BEST decision we made for our wedding. We were one of the…read moremany pandemic couples who ended up having to postpone our wedding date twice between 2020 and 2021. Amber was there every step of the way, handled everything seamlessly, and went above and beyond to ensure we ended up having the best wedding. When we were first interviewing wedding planners after we had gotten engaged (2018), Amber came extremely prepared with examples of her work and sample files of how she plans/executes weddings. She was head and shoulders above anyone else we interviewed and we immediately knew she was the one. During the planning process, Amber was always there to answer my endless amount of questions and help me with my extreme indecisiveness. She is very organized and kept us on track for all things for our wedding (both financially and timeline-wise). She is very honest and all her recommendations for vendors were the absolute best/you couldn't go wrong with any of them. We were able to put our full trust in her very early on. When it came to design, Amber is very creative and has a great eye for everything. We had a very unconventional vision to capture the surreal vibe inspired by a horror movie called Annihilation (very colorful florals that don't exist in real-life and kind of have a weird/creepy vibe about them) and Amber was completely on board. We also added the extra complication of having so many different hanging installations for the florals and the lighting (a big disco ball installation with chandeliers) . She recommended the vendors that she thought would go best with our vision and we really ended up with the ultimate dream team. When finalizing design, I had a couple reservations about some of her color choices, but we ended up going with it and it couldn't have been more perfect. She is truly an expert! With the pandemic, she seamlessly handled coordinating with our vendors and was completely there for us even though she had the busiest wedding season of all time this past summer (2 wedding seasons in 1). We are truly grateful for all the work she had put in when her bandwidth was spread as thin as it was. In our final coordination meetings with all our vendors leading up to our wedding day, she really showcased her expertise by asking all the right questions to ensure everyone was prepared to have things running smoothly the day of. Without this, we honestly would have missed so many things and not have been able to enjoy our wedding day ourselves. Fast forward to our wedding day, her day of coordination was impeccable. I was relaxed the entire day and knew I could trust her with everything. We fully enjoyed our entire wedding day/night and were able to eat and party without any concerns. With the amount of coordination that was required from the many different vendors and the countless amount of installations that had be installed that day (lighting, SO many floral installations, etc.), it truly was executed perfectly. She was also just the best energy to have around and I cannot think of a single issue that happened. I highly recommend Amber as a planner, designer, and/or day-of coordinator for any of your event needs. She is very knowledgeable, organized (a perfectionist!), creative, responsive, and just an overall wonderful person. She goes above and beyond for all her clients and has a great eye for any type of design. Having her be in our lives for the past 3 years has been the best and we are so grateful to have met her and worked with her on our wedding. Our guests have all commented that our wedding is the best they've ever attended and we'll remember every single detail for the rest of our lives.

Malea was easy to talk to, professional, and has a great eye for design. We knew our wedding was in good hands after our first meeting with her. There are so many moving pieces with wedding planning and many things that we did not think of, but she made it easy for us to know what we needed to do. It was also very helpful that she communicated with vendors for us during our planning months. I can't imagine how many emails she saved us from. She is also very responsive and answered any questions we had. She helped immensely with the design portion of our wedding. She curated a beautiful vision from florals, linens, signage and more! On the wedding day, Malea made sure that everything ran smoothly, and we could just enjoy the day worry free. As my new husband said, "We couldn't imagine the hours of therapy we would have needed without Malea." Thank you, A. Renee Weddings & Events!

He was also very open with availability for calls anytime which I really appreciated during a busy workweek. During our wedding day, he and his partner were great working with my photographer and felt like they were new friends with how kind and fun they were during the whole process. Most importantly, we have stunning videos from our best day ever that we can watch anytime (let's just say the actual day was a bit of a blur!) and since we had a very small wedding due to Covid, this was a wonderful way to share our celebration with friends & family who couldn't be there in person. If you're debating getting a videographer or working with Dylan - don't hesitate!! It was absolutely worth it and he's amazing and easy to work with.
