I was in town last weekend for a wedding and I got the best manicure of my life. I had previously had a gel manicure in my home state that chipped within a day and was able to be peeled off and looked horrible. I could be a nail product tester because I can absolutely chip any manicure within a few days. I'm sitting here at day 4 with barely any show of wear. Nitya took so much care in the preparation that I've never seen before. It must be the reason that this is already standing up so well! I wish I lived in CO just to get another manicure here. I received a studio gel manicure. I absolutely love the service and I love this salon. It's very affordable, especially considering the prices in Boulder. The environment, as well as all of the manicurists are wonderful and they take their time to make sure you are receiving exactly what you want. I would recommend booking in advance because they are busy. You will never wait for your appointment! All their soaps and scrubs are made in house and they use high quality polish as well as eco friendly tools! I love this place. read more

I recently got a facial with Nitya with added high frequncy treatment for acne. The total time of the facial was around 75 minutes, but it was very relaxing and I didn't notice the time passing even. I have a sensitive skin and I breakout once or twice a month. The acne treatment completely reduced all the acne I had under the skin. After the facial my skin felt very soft and fresh. I recommend it to everyone, I enjoyed it!! read more

I stumbled onto The Nail Studio while looking around for somewhere as good as (not going to name it) another place in downtown Boulder. I was tired of supporting what I call "Vietnamese Sweat Shop" nail salons -- having had some bad experiences with some of them, including the one in Table Mesa Shopping Ctr. (Would NEVER go back there.) The Nail Studio feels like a place where the technicians are treated well, have a "real job", and actually choose to be there as aestheticians. For example, they use gorgeous copper basins, made especially for the salon in Nepal, for foot soaks. Kelly (owner? manager?) is a darling person who cares about the environment and recycles all they can from the salon. I've had a number of treatments from Sharma and she's lovely too. Check it out next time you're needing a manicure or pedicure. read more

Way, way overpriced and terrible service. Manicurist always ran a minimum of 10-15 minutes late. $47 plus tip just to remove the terrible gel manicure they applied for $90+. There is no justification in what they charge and certainly no service to support it. Shameful. read more

These women are THE BEST! Came here with some of my wedding party to get our nails done before the big day and let me just say -- Our nails have never looked better! They did an absolutely exceptional job and pampered us like royalty! My gels lasted 3 weeks without any chips (they were just SO LONG I couldn't take it anymore)! I have gone and gotten my nails done at The nail Studio for the past 4 times I've gotten my nails done s d I love them every time. Today I got my nails done by Tien Nguyen and the new summer blue out for the season is glorious. Every time I enter I am offered tea and or water with lemon. The waiting area has a set up of adorable candles, lotions, and jewelry. Absolute hands and toes down the best place for a mani/pedi. All the staff are true professionals at their craft. I love the color options, the gel manicures keep my hands that are in water all the time looking nice for 2 weeks. And the treatments keep my cuticles from being dry and cracked in CO Winters. I recently booked a mother-daughter visit at the Nail Studio and had a wonderful experience despite having to wait 20 minutes after my scheduled appt. time to be seen (previous client arrived late). Nitya gave me both my first gel manicure and first microderm facial and was extremely helpful in answering questions I had about both. The facial was especially relaxing and peaceful in a quiet and soothingly decorated room. I got my nails done here a few days ago, they were too busy for a walk in appointment so I booked to come back the next day. The lady on the counter must have been new as she was a bit confused as to what I wanted- a clean up with gel. And I ended up being booked in for a clean up only...but then when I said I wanted gel I got a full manicure. Anyway doesn't really matter! The girl who did my nails was lovely, offered me tea and chatted with me, talked about some services they offer and talked about why I was visiting Boulder. She was very sweet. She did a great job of my nails and made sure I was happy with the length and shape before moving on to complete the rest of my nails. She was patient with me picking colours too. My only concern is after just a few days one of my nails has chipped already (and considering how short they are this surprises me!) I think the gel is very thin and that may be why. A shame but I'm sure something I could mention and it could be done a little thicker. Everything seemed very clean and tidy. A side note nothing against the business but some of their clientele obviously like to be the centre of attention they are loud and discuss their #firstworldproblems please give it a rest no one cares! read more

I'm writing this review to let Yelp users know that the "book online" button doesn't work, it appears to but when I arrived at the salon I had no appointment and the staff told me I should have gotten a confirmation email (which I did not). So if you want to book an appointment don't do it through Yelp, go directly to the salon website or call. They didn't really seem too concerned that there had been a problem booking through Yelp, and didn't even offer to schedule me another appointment even though I was standing right there in their shop, in fact I stood there about 5 minutes after I walked in, made eye contact with several staff people but no one even asked if they could help me, I was really kind of shocked based on the glowing reviews to get such poor customer service. So after I left, called Charming Nails and they got me in for a walk-in pedicure on 5 minutes notice and charged me more than $20 less than I would have paid at Nail Studio, my nails looked great and the staff were sweet. I won't bother with Nail Studio next time I'm in Boulder. read more
