We recently just stayed at the Ritz Carlton in Maui for 7 days and didn't know whether to take our little 21 month old girl with us as we didn't have a nanny and really were not sure whether we liked the idea of her staying with a stranger. So we booked "Kim" through the Nanny Connection and interviewed her on the first day.. after 5mins with Kim our fears were put to rest.. Kim was amazing. Extremely punctual, caring and fun, our little girl was extremely relaxed with Kim and had so much fun. Kim was extremely flexible and moved things around to suit our hours (we were on holidays :-) We got back yesterday and our daughter is still saying "kim, park" ! Wonderful experience with TNC. Alexis came for a meet and greet and brought toys to share with our 18mo old. It was apparent that she was a great caregiver and knew what she was doing. She made us feel at ease right away, and being a slightly neurotic and overprotective mom, I felt safe leaving our son in her care so babydaddy and I can have a couple hours to enjoy dinner without rushing through our meal. As most mothers would feel, I was a little hesitant at the idea of leaving my toddler with a stranger. But it was an absolutely wonderful experience. We were assigned Kathy, and upon reading her background and biography, I already felt better. We scheduled a video meeting the day before she was hired to watch my daughter, just so my daughter can see her and of course I wanted more peace of mind, too. She was absolutely wonderful with my almost 3-year-old. My daughter still won't stop talking about how much fun she had with Kathy. She loved that she brought blocks and played with her. During Kathy's time with my daughter, she was in charge of putting her down for a nap. We went to Maui with our 14 month old boy. We had never left him alone with a new sitter and were very hesitant! The first day we got there we had our nanny (Ericka) come over for 2 hrs to meet us and hang out with the baby. He immediately took to her! We left them alone for 45 min while we walked around the property. When we came back they were both smiling and playing! The next 3 days we had her come for 5-6 hrs and my son had a great time! She brought lots of toys and books. She took him for walks, made lunch/snacks, put him down for naps... and he let her! I was so nervous since he is so clingy to me. Luna, our sitter, connected with us before the trip via text and Skype where we chatted before-hand on video. Luna was always on-time. She went above and beyond to make our experience fantastic. We were on the island for my sister-in-law's wedding and needed some help with our almost 3 year old son. The process to book was incredibly easy. She watched them for 4 hours in the morning while we went surfing. But on our recent trip to Maui, my husband and I knew we'd want a few hours away to enjoy some adult time. Over the course of 15 years I have worked for three different nanny agencies and had several jobs on my own. I was teaching school at a private school so obviously needed a second income. I wasn't impressed with two of the agencies and was hesitant to try a third. I eventually did with The Nanny Connection and stayed for years. The office girls are efficient and professional and take their job seriously. On the rare occasion a complaint came in, all nannies were contacted and would get a briefing about said incident, not as a scolding, rather a lets regroup and make sure we are all at the top of our game. Before being hired I needed to have my CPR/ First Aid certification up to date, background checks were checked. Other places gave us a 30 day grace period, which is not helpful if a situation occurs during that 30 days. We all were shown examples and given many ideas as to what to bring in our nanny bags. The offic girls didn't just offer their favorite nannies the jobs, nannies were placed with families his needs were best matched with particular nannies. In 4 years I was aware of a situation in which the owner immediately took action and the situation was resolved and will not happen again. I was very impressed. Although I'm taking a small break from working as a nanny, I still recommend them to all of the guest at the hotel who need childcare. I loved working for the Nanny Connection and am proud to have worked there and will definitely go back. read more

we stayed in Ka'anapli, Maui for 1 week and used this service 3 times. We had the pleasure of having Nanny Allison watch our children (15-month-old and 4.5-year-old). She also watched my aunt's children (2-year-old & 8-year-old) a couple times. Upon meeting Nanny Allison, I felt immediately confident and secure with leaving my children in her care. She asked great questions and brought many toys and books - all age-appropriate. Each time I returned, I found my children clean, changed, well-fed and asleep! 2 nights I returned at 10pm and 1 morning I had her watch them from 9am-1pm. I will definitely seek Nanny Allison out when I return and recommend her and the Nanny Connection. I did find myself scrambling to make sure I had enough cash on hand when I returned each time. Cash just isn't something I carry a lot of, so it would've been nice if they accepted check or charged the credit card they kept on file when booking. all-in-all, a little inconvenience, but not a big deal. read more

My husband and I had planned a babymoon/romantic get away to Kaanapali. 4 days before we left, we found out we were going to have to take our 2 year 2 month old. Someone at the resort suggested the Nanny Connection, but I was hesitant to have a stranger care for my daughter alone. They were very informative on their background checks on each nanny, and assured me that we would have the same nanny for each day we requested someone. All I had to do was notify them of the times/days I needed. I contacted them on Monday evening, by Tuesday afternoon I had a name and general information about the nanny I would be using. ROBERTA is a mother of 4, and has worked at a local resort kids club for many years. I already felt better about my decision to use this company. Roberta showed up on time, and I could tell she was caring and responsible. My daughter really took to her quickly, and that made me feel much better. I had her come an hour before we needed to leave, just to allow my daughter time to get comfortable with her, and my husband and I as well. We agreed Roberta could take Lillian to the pool by signing a release form from the company. Roberta also brought age appropriate toys for our daughter, and my daughter loved that! I asked her to send me updates throughout the day, so periodically she'd send me pictures of her and Lillian exploring the gardens, birds, fish, ect. It was nice to know they were having a good day. Overall, we used Roberta 11 am- 9 pm on one day to go to lunch, the spa, and dinner. And then a second day from 3-8 to go on a sunset cruise and to dinner. ASK FOR LIAH!!! I cannot even begin to explain all of that ways in which she is amazing. I booked for a nanny to come 12-8 while we were in Maui so my husband and I could have some adult time during our vacation. I have a 3-month old and a 17-month old, so needless to say it's a handful. I assumed that the nanny would be a home base and I could take one or the other to the pool or beach. Not Liah! She was so confident and competent (has 4 grown children of her own), that we were able to leave Liah with both of them, and she would take BOTH of them swimming, down to the beach, for a walk around the property, etc.. I wouldn't even do that in my own! She kept me updated by text as requested, and I came home to bathed, happy, sleeping babies! She was flexible if we came home a bit later too. My mind was completely at ease and I could really relax (first time since having babies). I tried to convince her to move home with is and be our full time nanny, but no luck :(. We will come back to Maui soon just so we can have a REAL vacation again soon. Love her!!! My husband and I planned a vacation to Maui last week with our 3 1/2 month old daughter. It took a lot of convincing on my part to have my husband agree to travel across the Pacific Ocean with our new baby as he wasn't quite sure what we would do in Maui with a baby. He called the hotel we were staying it to see if they had any nanny services through their hotel and they referred us to The Nanny Connection. I was a little bit skeptical about having a "stranger" look after our baby for a few hours each day (especially since she has only been taken care of myself, my husband, and her grandma since she was born), but agreed to give them a shot to make my husband happy. We talked to Julia several times asking her about how it works, about the nannies, the experience with infant care, etc. She answered all of our questions effortlessly and genuinely and really made me feel at ease about the whole process. She set us up with Marie Gross for 6 hours and was able to arrange a phone interview with her before we committed to using her. Talking to Marie over the phone really made me feel a lot better about who we were entrusting our daughter with. We had Marie Gross care for our baby for 6 hours one day while we went snorkeling. As soon as she arrived to our hotel room, I gave her a fifteen minute rundown of my daughter's schedule/temperament/personality. She asked appropriate questions and wrote everything down. I left feeling very comfortable that my daughter was in good hands. She sent us text message updates throughout the 6 hours which was great. I called her any chance I could get (in between snorkeling) to check in with her as well. When we got back to the hotel, I saw my daughter happily playing and laughing with Marie. It was such a great sight! We loved working with The Nanny Connection so much that my husband and I decided to use them again on our trip, this time for 3 hours. We were hoping to get Marie again, but she wasn't available for the time we wanted. So TNC arranged us with Sherry Curry. Sherry had a warmness about her that I noticed from the beginning but she didn't ask too many questions about my daughter's schedule/temperament as Marie did. But I knew that my daughter would be ok. Overall, without TNC, I think our trip would have been VERY different. It was nice for my husband and I to be able to get out and do the things that we loved pre-baby. The price is VERY reasonable, $18/hour, with a 3 hour minimum. And she comes straight to your room! I HIGHLY recommend this service to anyone travelling with their baby/kids! read more

The owner, Nicki (sp??) was very responsive and professional. She took note of my concerns for my 3-year-old and 5.5 month old and made sure to pass it on to the nannies we hired. (3 year old started having some nightmares while on vacation, and 5.5 month old started having issues being put to bed!). We used The Nanny Connection twice while on vacation on Maui. The first time was on New Year's Day....the price was steep, seeing that it was a holiday. $30+/hr for NYD with a $40 booking fee. Yikes. That nanny was Suzy (Susie?). She was very pleasant and my son took to her right away. I felt very comfortable with her. We then used another nanny a few days later...Charmagne. She was also pleasant and I felt comfortable leaving the kids with her. Not sure how much either nanny had to really do for the kids, as it was bedtime soon after both arrived (and we prepared the food for Suzy, as well as had them them in their jammies, and had started the food process with Charmagne), but they seemed experienced and trustworthy, and again, we felt comfortable with both. The only complaint I'd say was that neither of the nannies seemed to clean up after the kids. Dirty bottle was left for us, as well as my 3 year old's dirty dishes (at least with Suzy, can't recall if his dirty dishes were left by Charmagne, but I do remember the dirty bottle). Suzy also left a stack of newspapers on the table...Now I know our room wasn't the neatest, but we didn't need any extra mess!! And for $30/hr, I'd hope they could clean the kids' plates/bottles! Overall, a good experience and I would definitely use them again...hoping our Maui trip may be the beginning of a regular thing!!! read more

We had an amazing experience with Nanny Connection. I'm generally wary of nanny agencies, I like to find my sitter from personal recommendations or read reviews of them personally before booking. That wasn't an option for this trip so we decided to roll the dice and we are sure glad we did. Marie watched our rambunctious 2.5 year old son for three evenings and one half day. He LOVED her and she made us feel comfortable with updates and photos. She also brought along some toys to keep him interested and took him to check out the kid's center and feed the fish. He would be full of stories about what he did with Marie while we were out. The sitters were always on time, professional, sweet, and really, really fantastic with my girls. I love this service and Shyela, the nanny they sent. We were on Maui for only one full day. We called the day prior to see if a nanny would be available, and was confirmed within 25 minutes or so. The person taking the call didn't seem too happy because I called 10 minutes before closing, but she booked us anyways so oh well. It was 15 an hour for the first child, 2$ for each additional child. You must call before 5 pm. Shyela took care of my 9 month old and my 8 year old. She was perfect to both. Brought arts and crafts with her, which kept my oldest occupied for a while. She also took them to the pool. Kept us up to date with texts and pictures. She wasn't lazy or boring. I was honestly surprised it went sooooo well.
