I only took a star off because the park was a lot smaller than I thought it would be. Based on the other reviews here, I thought I was going to be walking into a huge dog park, but it was a really small area. It looked like there was another large part of the dog park but for whatever reason it was closed off and not being utilized. This was a couple of months ago so I'm not sure if it has since opened.

Nice sized parking lot that is on rocks for sure. They used to have tons of bird houses but they're gone now- not sure why. But it's very cool under the trees a nice breeze, and so many areas where you can overlook water. Be cautious though, every trail I've ever done has different color marked trails for some odd reason this has 2 trails and they're both marked yellow which can cause for serious confusion. I didn't like this at all because if we weren't paying attention we could've ended up not following the path we entered. I'm not a use my phone type of person for a trail map, I simply want to enjoy my time use the tree cues and go about my walk. It's very clean, you run into all types of people here, families, fur babies, I even ran into a lady who had goats one time it was pretty cool. There is also from what I'm told a swan that practically owns this water, I was told it's been there for years. Very beautiful swan might I say. There's 2 water overlooks one is to the right when you pretty much first walk in, go to the right of the path, they have a bench to overlook but this is more like just a bunch of Lilly pads still pretty. But if you go much longer and stay pretty much to your right you will end up by the water and a big rock you can sit on, just be careful not to fall in. They also if you keep going ( it's hard to explain which "path" to take because as I said they're both yellow, who did this and why), but there is a buddy bridge which is so cute to honor pets who have passed. All in all I liked the trail just pay attention to what you're doing. I been twice and never went all the way, as the two yellow trails are confusing and I'm not that adventurous to get lost. I figure, if I have to pay the fee anyway I may as well give the place a shot. The Rec Center has a large pool, an indoor track, weight room on the first floor, cardio room on the second. There is also an area right when you walk in where you can sit and study. The cardio area is nice because it has really large windows that let light in. It can get hot if you're in the sunlight for too long, but if you mention it the staff can lower some automatic blinds. The shower/ locker room is clean enough. The initial activation process was a hassle because you have to sign an electronic waiver, but you can only access it after watching a safety video and the ric mobile site is pure trash and does not load properly. The woman working the front desk was nice enough to let me use her work computer to complete the process. All in all the whole place is adequate and if your a student at RIC that wants to work out you should use this space.

It's a beautiful, brand new facility that is clean and has a decent amount of equipment. To highlight key points: - Free weights go up to 100 lbs (in increments of 5 lbs) - 2 squat racks - 5 bench press stations (2 incline, 1 decline, and 2 flat bench) - Indoor pool and track field - Plenty of cardio machines upstairs - Decent amount of machines specific to muscle groups (ex: Lat pull down and seated chest press machines). - Clean locker rooms and bathrooms I only have two complaints. One would be the lack of attachments that go along with the jungle pulleys. There are no straight bars, row bars, or v-handles. That truly deters from having variety in a workout and in a away, takes away from a quality workout as well. Additionally, there aren't any unique machines here. It's pretty standard equipment and nothing out of the ordinary. Secondly, the hours of operation need more consistency. The gym is open Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 AM, yet every other day of the week (including Friday), they open at 7 AM? Weird. But, it's definitely worth your time to come here. The Rec Center fee per semester is reasonable, and it's such a convenience. I'd recommend this gym to any Rhode Island College student or faculty member, encouraging them to make use of it.

As…read morea kid I used to play sports here, as a teen I spent time in the teen center, and while in high school we came here to watch football games. Recently I had the pleasure of stopping in to watch my niece play winter basketball and quickly I remembered why I loved this place. The Rec Center is filled with happy parents watching their kids play while the staff that has been around forever connected with everyone. The center itself hasn't changed much in the last 10 years, but it is clean and well maintained. Watching games here is a little frustrating because of the lack of seating, but overall that is the only flaw. In the end, it was great to be back in this building and I am happy that that staff here continues to be such a great part of children's lives.

We had the pleasure over the summer to watch as the osprey babies were born . The whole experience was so cool. There are trails , butterfly gardens . Old Mountain Field also serves the Town's "urban" park with many participants walking to and from the park. The park contains lit baseball and softball fields, two lit tennis courts, two un-lit tennis courts, in-line skating facility, skateboard part, lit basketball courts, trails, concession stand, restroom building, and small pond. We have been to see kids play baseball and softball many times and it is a very lively and well used park. There's plenty of parking.
