#1 ice cream spot in the capital region!…read more Their ice cream is well made and creamy. They have fun options and offer ice cream pie/cake which I'm sure are amazing but we've never tried them. I often get a sundae with twist ice cream, peanut butter sauce and hot fudge. Their peanut butter is delicious, it has a real peanut butter taste unlike other ice cream places in the area. We have also tried their edible cookie dough sundaes which are also fantastic. The only reason we don't get them more often is just because it's so decadent. They must have recently changed to also accept cards rather than just cash so that's convenient. The staff is always friendly and makes your ice cream quickly. My only complaint would be that the menu is a little overwhelming and hard to follow but as long as you have a general idea of what you want it doesn't really matter that much.

Pros: - takes credit card and cash…read more- hard ice cream selections - nice ambiance and well lit Cons: - large pot hole in parking lot exit - soft serve flavors are not the best One thing I can say about their staff is they're very efficient! Love the texture of the ice cream and I have enjoyed both visits this season. They have light and uplifting music playing with areas set away from the parking lot and roadway. It is lit with string lights and has a more adult date night vibing area to the right of the windows. My ice cream was lopsided, but otherwise, it was a great experience! So if the lines are long, just know they'll get to you usually within 5-10 minutes. No wildly long waiting time. Parking is a bit challenging. We will be back this season and hopefully see some new soft serve flavors debuts as the season progresses!

We came here for ice cream. For the ice cream alone, this would be 3 stars. But with the food (we…read moredidn't order any, but it looked really good), the outdoor area, and the mini-golf course, the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. The ice cream was okay. It's limited to about a dozen flavors between hard and soft. The hard ice cream flavors (we got hard ice cream this time) were more traditional, the soft ice cream flavors were more creative and interesting. Prices were about the same for similar sizes, though, but $4 and change for a small dish seemed slightly above average compared to the same amount elsewhere. Then again, there's nothing else that close to this place with whom to be competitive. Spoons aren't available here unless you order ice cream. The spoons are plastic, looking more like they're designed for iced tea or milkshakes, with long, slender, flimsy handles, and only teaspoon-sized for scooping. That's fine for a shake or soft ice cream, but they were a bit too flimsy for digging into hard ice cream. The flavors could have been a little stronger too, though the stuff in the special flavors (e.g., the Moose Tracks), made up for it. This is a fine place to go if you're looking for a meal with ice cream, or mini-golf plus food or drink. Then again, there's nothing else like it for many miles in any direction.

Not only did she cover the ice cream, she gave me an extra cup of sprinkles! We also played mini golf and the course is very well manicured and a great level of challenge. I appreciated that it had real obstacles (versus just flat pictures of them). I would definitely come back here if I was in the area again!

A small cone or dish is 3 scoops, currently at $5.25, tax included. It's cash only, but there's an ATM several feet to the right of the ordering counter. I got 2 scoops of peanut butter ice cream topped with a scoop of vanilla. The vanilla had some very small ice crystals in it but was otherwise fine. I really love their peanut butter ice cream. It's creamy with the peanut butter flavor but not overwhelming. The cone does seem to be a little small for all that ice cream, so don't dilly-dally too much eating it in warm weather. Since some other parlors near me have closed, Scoups has become by default the closest ice cream spot to me that makes their own hard ice cream. This is not a bad thing. It's also not bad that it's not too far away from Wolf Road, and it becomes a convenient spot for dessert after dinner nearby.

There are picnic tables available on the property in front of a wooden fence where you can often see a few cows grazing nearby. Talk about farm to market! Not only is the homemade ice cream top quality, it is delicious. In addition, they serve soft vanilla and soft chocolate, dole whip, homemade Italian Ice, and Frogurt. The numerous flavors of ice cream are rich and bold. They are described well on the menu. Portions are generous so you may want to size down. I like a "small" cone of the Toffee Heath Bar Crunch. Staff is friendly and efficient no matter how long the line is at the window.

Located on Brown's Beach, it's definitely a great spot for ice cream, especially if you're there on a hot day. As you might expect from the name, they are indeed owned by the same folks who own the Ugly Rooster Cafe's. Their menu offers over 25 flavors of soft-serve. If you prefer hard ice cream, 8 flavors of Perry's are also available. Given how small their site currently is, they can't possibly have dispensers for every flavor. So what I believe they do is make smaller batches of a flavor to order and then dispense it into your cone or cup. For the flavor I ordered, Amaretto, you'd never know that might have been how it was made, the flavor and consistency were quite good, and I'd definitely order it again. And for the inevitable comparisons: Flavors - more of them, probably not changing as frequently, see above on how they can have so many available. Flavor was distinct without being overwhelming. Size - You definitely don't get as much for your order. I'm hoping that as they grow as a business, they can be more cost competitive. Consistency - Maybe not quite as dense; on a very hot day, be prepared to lick fast. Still, this is a great add to the ice cream community. And since I'm more likely to be traveling in this area as opposed to going up to Lake George, this is an easy, "Yes, let's go!" for me.
