The Wind Chill Factory used to be Mr. Bill's. I believe that they are now owned by a couple. They don't have as many ice cream flavors as some other places. However they do also have grill items on their menu, made to order. They have seating outside and they also have a small mini golf area which is always fun! I tried their soft serve maple vanilla stacked with blue raspberry. Both flavors were tasty but a little on the sweeter side. Still good in my opinion but perhaps a bit less creamy. Its a cute establishment if you are looking for a bite and or a goodie!

This was the kiddie size of the cotton candy swirl!

The best soft serve ice cream! I live in Texas and am so thankful for this soft serve stand- we don't have these in Texas! I ordered cotton candy swirl and next time I'm going back for the pistachio chocolate! Really great customer service!

Windchill is a takeout window serving soft and hard as well as grilled items like hotdogs and hamburgers. The windchill factory used to be Mr. Bill's. New ownership has cut back the number of soft ice cream flavors to only a few. The menu consists of mostly grilled items. I don't think they smoke BBQ anymore. They also removed the playground. I mostly view changes as a downgrade. One place they did improve was resurfacing the mini golf courts that needed updating badly.

I wanted to have a fun day with my granddaughter and saw this business with food, ice-cream and mini golf. The high points are the hand cut fries and onion rings. The low points started out with a frozen Pretzel and cheese. I watched my 11 year old granddaughter trying to break a piece of Pretzel off as I watched the salt mush away. When I went to help I was shocked to feel ice. The girl said she would( bring) me out a new Pretzel. From the window she yelled your Pretzel is ready. Michigan dog buns were toasted dark brown and the sauce was lacking flavor. We were going to play golf but after walking around the building found no one to pay. No signs to start. So we just left.

We went here to go miniature golfing and also decided to grab something to eat while we were here because it was available and figured we'd give it a shot. I wasn't too happy with the food it was unfortunately very greasy and did not sit well with my stomach but that's probably because it's more of a fried food type of venue. The miniature golf course was okay, they should definitely think about rebuilding their corners because the ball keeps popping off the course which takes time away from the game which then bottles necks people and then turns into this big traffic jam and then there's certain people who will skip holes because they don't feel like waiting and it just makes for a very hurryed experience. Instead of feeling relaxed while you're playing it feels like you're being rushed all the time to try to hurry and finish the hole. Overall though we did have a good time and I would definitely recommend that you go check it out it's a good time for just to get out and have time away and I thank you for listening.

Located on Brown's Beach, it's definitely a great spot for ice cream, especially if you're there on a hot day. As you might expect from the name, they are indeed owned by the same folks who own the Ugly Rooster Cafe's. Their menu offers over 25 flavors of soft-serve. If you prefer hard ice cream, 8 flavors of Perry's are also available. Given how small their site currently is, they can't possibly have dispensers for every flavor. So what I believe they do is make smaller batches of a flavor to order and then dispense it into your cone or cup. For the flavor I ordered, Amaretto, you'd never know that might have been how it was made, the flavor and consistency were quite good, and I'd definitely order it again. And for the inevitable comparisons: Flavors - more of them, probably not changing as frequently, see above on how they can have so many available. Flavor was distinct without being overwhelming. Size - You definitely don't get as much for your order. I'm hoping that as they grow as a business, they can be more cost competitive. Consistency - Maybe not quite as dense; on a very hot day, be prepared to lick fast. Still, this is a great add to the ice cream community. And since I'm more likely to be traveling in this area as opposed to going up to Lake George, this is an easy, "Yes, let's go!" for me.

How have I never done a review of Humpty Dumpty?…read more I've been here many times over the years and always grab something cool and refreshing. There's a decent, but not overwhelming, choice of yummy treats to choose from. Need a non-dairy option? No worries! There's usually a dole whip flavor available. Pros: - the most soft serve flavors in the area…read more- willing to stack flavors - great sundaes - cute seating area - staff is nice - open until 9 pm most evenings Cons: - no hard serve ice cream - items not as described, in particular, the "slush float" (a traditional root beer float is ice cream on the bottom and soda poured on top) is 90% slushie and 10% ice cream put on the top - ice cream began melting prior to receiving it (temp 65° outside) - slow service - parking lot is not safe as the lines are not maintained by line guides Tips: - cash only business We chose Humpty Dumpty due to good experiences previously. We had some challenges on our visit to include slow service and line formation was confusing and awkward as we were in one line going into the drive traffic. We originally ordered a medium soft serve cone and a slush float which was made backwards from the traditional float where the ice cream is placed on the bottom and is usually the equivalent of two scoops of ice cream and then the liquid, so in this instance slush. We received 90% slush and a dollop of ice cream on the top. It was really a major disappointment. Especially, because the slush is $2.50 and a slush "float" is $4.75. That was NOT at $2.75 worth of ice cream. Unfortunately, it was so bad i had to wait in line a second time because my son refused to consume it. When I got to the window, I explained that a float traditionally has the ice cream on the bottom, but this was met with lack of empathy and me paying for another item. The slush "float" was thrown out and the clerk knew it was getting thrown out, but we happily paid full price for our disappointment. I've never heard of a float having the ice cream on the top and wanted to make sure to add this to the review to avoid you having disappointment as well. I'm not doing well at the terms and lingo for this business. I ordered a medium ice cream in a dish to go. I've never seen an ice cream be overflowing like a cone in a dish. Had the medium ice cream melted, it would be everywhere and definitely did not fit the dish size. There is a small seating area to the side, but please be careful, the parking lot is not well lit and people will come in at 15 mph and not yield to pedestrians. I don't think we'll be back this season. Maybe next year we can try again. This years staff isn't vibing with our expectations.

I gather they began in Saratoga Springs, NY, and moved into Vermont, as well. We tried this one across the street from the Saratoga Springs Hilton where we stayed, and it was very clean inside (according to my husband who went inside). I had also read they have terrific ice cream, so guess what, we tried some. I stupidly left it up to my husband to "surprise me," and while they are known for amazing flavor choices, and thinking he KNOWS how I like unusual and interesting flavors, he walks out with a mix of vanilla and chocolate. Are you kidding me? It was especially difficult for me to keep my mouth shut because I was pissed off, but he was kind enough to get it for me and bring it out, so I could just wait in the car. I have to say, though, I quickly went from anger at the boring ice cream flavors to extreme enjoyment because it was some of the BEST vanilla and chocolate ice cream I had ever eaten. Truly delicious. I was definitely thinking we'd get some different flavors at other Stewart's Shops in the ensuing days of our travels, but as many as we ended up seeing along our way, we never did stop at any. Don't know why, but we didn't, and so, this was our only time to enjoy their wonderful ice cream !! Next time we are in the area of a Stewart's Shop, I will make sure we can get more ice cream. It's divine.

Stewart's headquarters is nearby in Greenfield, and the Dake family is a big supporter of local groups and activities.

Food to temp, everything was crisp not soggy, the burger was cooked perfectly, even at well done, which is not easy to pull off.
