I got 2 scoops of peanut butter ice cream topped with a scoop of vanilla. The vanilla had some very small ice crystals in it but was otherwise fine. I really love their peanut butter ice cream. It's creamy with the peanut butter flavor but not overwhelming. The cone does seem to be a little small for all that ice cream, so don't dilly-dally too much eating it in warm weather. Since some other parlors near me have closed, Scoups has become by default the closest ice cream spot to me that makes their own hard ice cream. This is not a bad thing. This is our local ice cream place and we love it... sort of... We love their homemade ice cream, supporting local business, and that they have a couple of cows nearby for my child to see. What I dont love is that they don't advertise their season opening or closing well. We ask and what we're told always changes. This year they ran out of flavors and got behind on orders so it was a mess. We had to change our order 3 times because they ran out after they had taken our order. The most recent annoyance was taking my child for his 1st ice cream and being told that their Half Jr size (kids) only comes in soft serve and not hard. If I wanted one scoop of hard (which is still huge mind you) then I need to pay the Jr. (2 scoop) price. Ive ordered a 1/2 Jr for several years now and have never not been allowed to get hard or had to pay the full amount. They still gave my child 2 massive scoops which melted everywhere. We've had weird experiences that we forgive because its a local, small place. This however makes me not want to go back. I doubt they will miss me because it is always packed. If you really don't want a large portion size for a hard ice cream in a cone then you need to specify ahead of time because they will not be happy with you if you ask for it after realizing how much they gave you. I ordered myself a soft serve vanilla in a cone with fudge and sprinkles. The vanilla was perfect, didn't melt too quickly. Portion size was actually great as they didn't overfill it and the fudge wasn't overwhelming to the ice cream in portion or taste. Overall, super happy with my soft serve :) read more

I had a junior chocolate and maple walnut cone (delicious, just what I expected in terms of quality and quantity). My boyfriend had a "small" vanilla soft serve and it was definitely not small. I feel like it was heaped up to at least a foot tall! Wish we'd read the reviews ahead of time and gotten a half junior lol... after a pretty large meal finishing this ice cream together took some serious effort. I would say just based on the vanilla the soft serve here is a level above Kurver kreme in terms of flavor and texture, and prices are really cheap (I think they're cash only). In today's world of Square, and with credit card companies now allowing businesses to set a minimum amount of up to $10, and to offer discounts for cash purchases, there's no reason why they can't take credit card. Madame had cookies and cream, with cookie dough ice cream on top. The Keylime ice cream was very good without a overwhelming flavor of Keylime or too many gram cracker chunks inside of it. But still. If it's worth eating, it's worth a few extra minutes to get the good stuff. And the homemade hard ice cream makes the grade. Peanut butter tastes like peanut butter. But I really like trying flavors where imperfections have nowhere to hide, like chocolate chip. The ice cream base is delicious on its own. Of course, they'll sully up their good product by throwing M&Ms in it for the kids. And Scoups made the unfortunate decision of needlessly coloring its mint chocolate chip a kid-friendly hue of green. But I won't hold that against them much. Especially when their homemade lemon italian ice is gleefully color free, with a fine grained texture, and a wonderfully refreshing tart snap. The junior sized cups of hard ice cream are enough for any adult and a shockingly reasonable two bucks. Part of me looks forward to trying my way through the menu. We came here on a Friday (as you can tell by the date it was during the pandemic) and there was a long line. We waited with masks on for about 15 minutes to order. I chose a small hot fudge sundae with Cherry Vanilla ice cream and my boyfriend chose the Uncle Richie's Favorite sundae. I was immediately turned off when I saw that the Cherry Vanilla ice cream was neon pink. Definitely not a good start. When I tried a spoonful, I realized it was made with maraschino cherries, another strike. I was hoping for real cherries, so I was definitely disappointed. The Uncle Richies Favorite sundae was great and we opted for peanut butter ice cream, which was a smart decision if I do say so myself. Came here after lunch for a sweet summer treat and satisfy my sweet tooth. I've driven by this homemade ice cream shop so many times visiting The Crossings but never stopped in to see what it's about. There were no lines during the time I went and only 4 other people enjoying their fresh made ice creams at the picnic tables near the cows. On the right side is their farm store that I didn't check out this time but will in the future. The large menu board posted next to their ordering window included frozen yogurt, soft serve, hard ice cream, and a few other treats. I had the special of the week blueberry (with real, whole blueberries inside!) and the peanut butter hard ice cream in a junior dish (that was just the right amount for me and was able to finish it). My friend had the blueberry and black raspberry hard ice cream also in a junior dish. The flavor of the blueberry ice cream was very distinct and I loved the actual blueberries in it. The peanut butter tasted refreshing and light, not on the heavy creamy side which I definitely appreciated. Lastly, the black raspberry was slightly disappointing since it's fruity flavor did not shine through.. it was even lighter than the other two we tried and we couldn't taste the black raspberry flavor even as it was the very first spoon we tried. I usually go for the hard ice cream and leave soft serve alone and fruit ice cream vs candy/cookie/cake flavors but I am interested to see what soft serve tastes like here and the cake batter / cookies n cream.
