The Neu Neu is an industrial-chic event space nestled in Minneapolis' trendy North Loop district. This versatile venue can accommodate a wide range of events, from intimate gatherings to grand celebrations. We were able to attend for a free even in conjunction with Modist, featuring THC vendors, and even though I an not someone who enjoys THC, the vendors had lots of "N/A" options (pictured) and I enjoyed seeing the space. Very nice space, welcoming to a large group. I was at 514 Studio for 2 different event and each time a perfect atmosphere for the event had been created. Great location for business people right off the freeway and easy access to Minneapolis. Very cool looking from the outside with a white roof and a great coffee shop next door to boot. I've been to 514 Studios for several different events, and every time, I have been WOWED beyond belief! They are professionals through and through, and always put on a good show. I love how flexible the event space is. Anything goes - from food trucks, to Social Media Breakfasts, to weddings, and casual gatherings, the fine folks at 514 Studios will exceed all of your expectations and then some. This morning, I was there for SMBMSP55. I just love how a space that was used for a photo shoot one day can be transformed into a meeting space the next, and something completely different that same night. Their location is ideal, with a slightly off the beaten path nook in the North Loop with ample access to parking and loading areas. My only complaint was that their new wi-fi wasn't working with my iPhone or my neighbor's iPad, but we survived an hour on 3G...by the skin of our teeth. I was extremely impressed with 514 studios when I did a walk through of the space for an event that a group I work with holds every month. We liked the space a lot, and had things been a little different as far as financing the last show we would have gone with them and just hired on someone to bar tend! They also did a great job of hosting the Yelp's Drive-In event which was cool after having been there about two weeks prior. The customer service is wonderful, the space is hands down gorgeous, and my partner and I will be looking into that space for our small and formal commitment ceremony. read more

My wife and I recently hosted our Groom's Dinner at 514 Studios. We were looking for a unique and inviting space for our upscale, yet casual, pre-Twins game gathering. 514 Studios delivered exactly what we wanted in an event space at an incredibly affordable rate. The indoor and outdoor space allowed our guests to enjoy the sun as well as protection from a brief rain shower. There is plenty of on street parking nearby, as well as, cheap pay lots. Additionally, during the day the studio is used for photography and our guests commented on how cool the space was with the exposed brick, vintage memorabilia and professional photos on display. This is a neat, clean space and would be amazing for a small wedding or business gathering. The only problem was connecting to the internet. The Wi-Fi was intermittent at best, and the password had to be changed twice to accommodate all the social media marketers that were there that day. Needless to say I'm glad I up-ed my 4G on my phone. There was construction going on next door, which made it hard to hear, but I can hardly fault them for something beyond their control. We hosted our rehearsal dinner at 514 Studios. It was a great space for a group of 100 people. We wanted a casual but unique environment. 514 was perfect for this. We used the tables and chairs as well as brought in some additional high top tables. We hung tissue paper poms from the ceiling which helped give it a fun atmosphere along with the cool exposed brick and high ceilings the studio has to offer. We had the garage door open with a food truck parked outside to serve our guests dinner. Everyone commented on what a cool place and fun party it was. We had our company's client event there on August 12th. It was a beautiful day and they were very accommodating! It was a great location for our downtown clients, and the space was very cool and clean. All of the recommendations that they gave me for different vendors were top notch! This. Place. Is. PERFECT. My wife and I used 514 Studios as our ceremony and reception site for our wedding on Oct 20th this year. We could not have been more thrilled and impressed with how the place looked on our big day. I'm a local wedding photog myself so when we were on the hunt for a place I wanted to use a spot that a.) I hadn't shot at before, and b.) it had to be unique and a place I hadn't seen or heard of a bazillion other couples using. c.) was affordable and allowed us to provide our own caterers and booze(a HUUUUUGE money saver). This place was that to a T and then some! Rustic, urban and open feeling, with a sweet open-able garage door if you happen to have your event on a nice enough evening to open it up to a nice parking lot- which we did! I ironically had never even heard of it until we were referred by a friend who had a non wedding event there. We had about 185 guests in a "cocktail style" setting and it was full enough to feel comfortably cozy with room to spare no probs. We purchased 400 cafe lights to string up in the ceiling to give it a nice warm vibe and our dj provided some up lighting for the walls and that was it! The space is rad enough to speak for itself but also lends a lot of options for your creativity. All of our guests loved and raved about the look and feel of it. Street parking was pretty decent but you can rent out spots in the nearby parking ramp next to Darby's so parking wasn't even an issue which was great for a downtown locale. The Callahans(owners) were amazingly accommodating in all regards. They were so great and open to whatever we had envisioned for our big day. We LOVED LOVED LOVED using their space and will be recommending them to anyone we meet looking for a unique and open space at a fabulous price. I used this space for a work event. I was looking for a unique, cool, intimate space, with good parking for 50-100 people and 514 Studios provided all that and more. It was a great price and they were very accomodative (bringing in outside caterers and helping with day of logistics). We used 514 for our wedding reception in late October. My husband and I could not have been more pleased with our experience there. From the very beginning Luke was on top of it. He spent a lot of time with me answering all of my silly small questions that a nervous planning bride-to-be has! On our day there everything was just as Luke and I discussed. They even gave me access to all of the ice in their freezer! Even better, we didn't even have to clean up the next day- a cleaning crew took care of all that. We had a problem with the rental company picking up on time and Luke was super relaxed and reasonable about it all! Love this place! read more

We're big fans of 514 studios. We held our holiday party there last Friday night for about 70 people and there was all sorts of space for eating, drinking and being merry. The feedback from our employees and their significant others has been fantastic and Larry and his team were great to work with. The location, downtown but a bit off the beaten path is nice because you don't have to fight all the traffic or crazy people pouring out of the bars and other restaurants downtown. There's ample parking in a ramp just a block away and we were able to work with ramp owner to allow people to park overnight, if their intake of holiday libations resulted in their inability to drive home. With the ability to bring in your own food and liquor, the costs savings can add up real quick if budget is something you need to consider, and let's be honest, everyone needs to think about their budget. Plus, 514 has an in-house projection and sound system we could hook right up to, so we could play our own music and bring in our laptop and enjoy our homemade slideshow. It's all there and ready for you to use. If you're into the warehouse district feel of rustic and vintage, this is definitely a place you want to check out. The space is great, the people are great and your experience, if it's anything like ours, will be great as well. We just hosted a party in this space and it was incredible. Everything leading up to the event was seamless. Alison was a great help in ensuring that we had everything we needed and she was so great to work with. She connected us to "with a twist" for a professional bartenter and they were incredible to work with as well. Buffy the bartender made the event so much more fun for my husband and me because we didn't need to worry about the drinks! There are few spaces as versatile (and located as perfectly) as 514 Studios. I've been there for a party before a Twins game, I've been there for two different photo shoots, an advertising association meeting and for a poker tournament. All four required very different amenities. It's a pretty unique space in that it can accommodate it all. Further, when you go inside, it's layout makes you wish it was where your office was located. My wife and I just got married here last weekend and couldn't have asked for a better venue. Luke and the crew are remarkably helpful and flexible and the space is beautiful. For those interested in a DIY event, this place is a complete blank slate and will likely meet your needs. Fortunately, we got in before they increased their rates, which made it a great deal for us. It's now a fair amount more expensive but comes with some extra services. Regardless, I'd highly recommend the venue for your event. I really love this space. It's clean. It's got character but you could still decorate it to make it your own.I really love that you can open the garage and have an event indoor and outdoor. As Minnesotans we need to utilize the outdoors as much as possible when it's nice! I've been to several events here and the only complaint I have is it's cold. Since it's a warehouse type space it appears to be a challenge to keep the place warm. read more

Could this place be any better? It's super reasonable, has an amazing staff, and has everything you need. Alison was amazing to work with and responded immediately to our many emails. Wayne (our day-of help) was easy-going and happy to get us everything we needed. And, our guests were impressed with the space, the amount of parking nearby, and with our event -- 514 was definitely a big part of making it happen. Without an event planner for our event (a 120+ legal fundraiser + dinner), we were pretty nervous. 514 not only made us feel comfortable that things would be well-handled, they went above and beyond with service and everything else. Been here for a few events and I really enjoy it. Parking can be a bit challenging, but that's the breaks of being in a big city. The space is airy and comfortable. Attended the Social Media Breakfast Minneapolis event here last week. Great space and coffee house built right in. Parking along the side is available for half an hour. Not sure if they check though how long people sit there. They have great muffins and huge Rice Krispie treats in the coffee shop portion. They also have a cool bench that appears to made of some old wood, which looks out onto the street in front of the coffee shop. A string of outlets are available and a heater runs underneath. So it's awesome to sit there on cold days. If you need quiet it might be a little loud, but very comfortable settings. Doesn't feel too crowded at least while I was there, and it's a bit off the main drag. So people don't just happen by it. read more

The rooms are perfect for larger groups and we were able to fit a lot of people as well as live music, tables for food, a slide show and a bar. I rented this space for our wedding venue - a cocktail reception for about 130 people. It was awesome!!!! Like the other folks who reviewed this venue, it is unique and provides a blank slate for whatever you envision for your event. We decorated with paper lanterns and cafe lights and that provided us with the perfect amount of lighting for the evening. You can bring in your own decorations or company to facilitate the process as well as your own food and alcohol - which was something we were looking to find! It was affordable and all of the staff at 514 Studios are amazing, flexible, and so incredibly helpful. They have some tables and chairs at the venue already that they allowed us to use so we saved a lot of money by not renting our own for the night! Parking on one side of the street is free after 5pm and after 10 pm on the other side of the street. Seriously. 514 is wonderful - the Callahan's and the venue itself. 514 Studios hosted our Hackathon in April of 2014, and the event was perfectly suited for a two-day event, with anywhere from 30 to 100 people at any given time. Having a separate designated kitchen area for food and beverages really allowed us to fully utilize the event space itself. Luke, Conor and their entire team was extremely helpful and accommodating, helping us locate items last minute that we needed. We were able to bring in our own catering, which was a huge cost saver for us, and had a food truck pull up out back as well. The character of the space is great - rustic, exposed brick, high ceilings - its awesome in its own organic, historic way and doesn't need much added to it for it to be great for most any event. The only "downsides" were lack of designated parking and the restrooms were outside the event space, down the hall. However there is ample meter parking in the area, and lots of parking lots available for rental within a block or two. read more

My wife and I held our wedding ceremony and reception at 514 Studios on June 15th, 2014. What a beautiful space! It's simple, in a sweet part of town, and they let us do whatever we wanted for our celebration. Pros: -Awesome place for a party: The main room is simple and you can do a lot to decorate, but the garage door out to the back parking lot was amazing. Our food truck parked out there and a majority of people ended up snacking outside before heading back in for the dance. We had so many comments about the natural atmosphere of the place and we didn't really do a ton of decorating. -Very helpful staff: Luke and Conner were great to work with. We had everything we needed and they went out of their way to help us have a good time. -Open policies for food and beverage (as of June 2014): We were able to save a ton of cash and book only the vendors we actually wanted. -Built in sound system and equipment: this was tremendously helpful for our DJ and made playing songs/videos on the fly a breeze. -Great staging area in back: We were able to keep food and other items back by the kitchen area out of the way of guests. There is also a sweet couch/TV area in the back. Possible Cons: -Parking: Free parking is fairly limited around the venue and guests had a hard time finding the place. This is to be expected downtown and has less to do with the actual venue... We suggest putting up a couple signs on corners for guests to follow. -Multiple contacts for venue: we had a hard time reaching the right person a couple times leading up to our event. read more

Went to a wedding. The place is poorly run. After the ceremony on a hot day they had us waiting in a dirty parking lot for 2 hours as this was the only place we could wait while it was set up for wedding. The parking lot had no shade or seats and no designated smoking area so there was smoke everywhere. I felt bad for the elderly, handicapped and pregnant guests. No AC so best to use this place in winter as you will also not be pushed into parking lot for space Stay as far away from this place. read more

We just had our wedding and reception here and it was a wonderful experience. The staff are welcoming and helpful and we were able to basically do whatever we wanted in terms of decor, food, etc. We were able to use the outside back lot as well for some additional space and to let the beautiful weather inside. There was tons of space in the private back room for food and drinks storage, getting ready, etc. They helped us clean up in the morning and it took almost no time at all! The venue in itself is awesome, a blank canvas that still has great character. We hosted a workout and viewing party for the MLB All Star game and they were fantastic to work with. They were flexible w/ our last minute changes and constantly evolving needs and allowed us to do just about anything we wanted. 514 would be at the top of my list next time I"m back in the city to do another event. read more
