We came from California to visit my family in Montreal, & embarked on an Eastern Canada Trip, and today passed by Charlottetown, P.E.I and in theoid for some Cantonese cuisines. We found this Noodle House, it's owned by a Hong Kong chef, most of the service folks are UPEI students. We ordered: 1. Braised Beef Brisket Hot Pot (*****) 2. Seafood Tofu Hot Pot (****) 3. Came in for lunch buffet. Found a long black **HAIR** inside of my chicken ball while eating. Nearly vomited. Waitresses literally ignored us. They attended other tables and could not get them to acknowledge the problem at the table. When they were told they just nodded yes, looked puzzled and did nothing about it. Unimpressed. Never again. Looked into kitchen, chef had ball cap and no hair net. Time for a health inspection. read more

Ordered fried chicken rice with eggs and while eating I see brown meat(could be pork or beef). i called them and the lady seems frustrated and persisted that its chicken. i asked for a refund, but refused. lesson learned; first and last time ordering there!!!! read more

The chicken was dry, egg rolls were meh, Why was there lettuce in the rice? Could use more veggies in the rice like peas, or something with flavour. There spicy dishes were weak! How come there is no packets of sweet n' sour sauce? And the Fortune cookies, only 1? I would not recommend this Chinese place. This place sucks. I had to select 1 star because Yelp doesn't offer 1/2 star.. Where do I begin. Took my family out for a nice supper. We weren't greeted at the door to be seated, a waitress cleaned the table off and waved us over from across the restaurant. We all sit down. Note there are 4 of us and our 4 month old newborn. It was very cold, We waited about 1/2 hour for our order to be taken, while another group of people (Chinese) were being waited on every 30 seconds. We placed our order, within 15 minutes our food was on the table. The rice wasn't fully cooked. The chow mein noodles were half cooked. The vegetables in the fried rice tasted like the last bag of forgotten frozen vegetables in the freezer from 2003. Also, the cherry sauce tasted like store bought sweet and sour sauce mixed with cheap ketchup. (Not even Heinz either) our glassware has hard bits of food still stuck on the glasses. It's listed as family friendly, they do not have a baby changing station in either men's or women's washroom. We had to change our 4 month old baby on the floor. Out of our $65 bill, we left $50 worth of food behind. It was cleaner when it was a dry cleaners. On a positive note our waitress was tentative and friendly (thank you for your great customer service) The manager, not so much. When I explained what had happened she looked at me appalled that I would make such a claim about "her" restaurant and that it was not fair to her that I wanted l even $20 taken off the bill. ( which I think was more then generous) She would not budge from the bill so I told her to just fucking charge the bill to my debit card, once it went through she processed to give me two handfuls of fortune cookies for the "inconvience" At least the "coffee news" was a good read. Will not be stepping foot through their door again. If you want half cooked rice and freezer burnt veggies, stay home! read more

Poor interior design and poor washroom cleanliness, which is characteristic of most authentic Chinese restaurants, is more than made up for by the quality of the food. Both my wife and I liked the food here. They are pretty good. Just look at the menu and you can tell that the food selection is authentic. Don't expect fantastic Chinese food. It's a regular and decent Chinese restaurant. Our only complaint is that the egg rolls are too salty. The other food we had, yangchow fried rice and fish fillets with Chinese greens are quite good and not salty. read more

The servings are generous, and very tasty too. However with a party of six, everybody has eaten except for my spouse and myself. The main dish had been ordered and reordered, everybody else was served and finished their meals, while we were still waiting. 1 3/4 hours from the time we ordered to when we left. We're just passing through, so won't be back anyways. However I'm sure it would have been a more enjoyable meal had they got the order right or at least done a prompt followup. read more

Went here for the lunch buffet, and was very pleasantly surprised. The restaurant is really clean, and has a nice open, light feel to it. Once again my maxim regarding Chinese restaurants rung true: If there's a lot of Chinese folk eating in the place, the food is going to be good and reasonably authentic. The buffet had a good selection, with a couple of more authentic dishes mixed in with the usual Westernized dishes one finds in North America. The food was fresh and flavorful, the service was friendly and efficient, and you can't fault the price, $34 taxes in for 2 of us, including 2 cans of soda. read more

Learned my lesson the worng way. Dont Go to a chinese restaurant on PEI. The palce was not clean. Servers barely spoke english. Portions are huge but dont be fooled by the descriptions. What youa re used to in the USA doesnt mean the same in PEI apparantly. Not sure if I will repeat. read more

I have been eating at the noodle house since I was young. The service has always been friendly and the food very consistent. Since they moved to the bigger location it has only gone up. The other day my boyfriend and I went in looking to get the lunch buffet. We didn't realize the time and we arrived only five minutes before the buffet was ending. We decided that what was left was sufficient for us, since we were only going to get a small bite anyways. While we were eating the woman who I believe is the owner came out with a huge plate of fresh food specifically for us. She felt bad that we weren't able to sample the entire buffet so she personally prepared all of the things that were empty or few. This was amazing! |My boyfriend and I were already content with our food and the service but she really went above and beyond to make sure our time there was the best it could be. I will always recommend this place to anyone who is looking for good quality food and wonderful service. Great place. read more
