Royal Refuse feels like a "you get what you pay for" sort of deal. They're the smallest and…read morecheapest trash company in town, but that means that you're, unfortunately, not going to get the same service and reliability as their larger competitors, especially if you're in an area where they have a lower presence. I live in north of the Events Center, and have had their service for 6 months. In that time, they've missed service twice. The first time was entirely their fault, and the second was because the city had blocked the road from one side while doing roadwork. With a larger company I probably would have received notice and/or they would have attempted the following day (I left my cans out an additional day just in case), but that wasn't the case with RR. I called them after the first missed service. They were appropriately apologetic and sent a truck out to pick up my trash the next day. Since I had room in my cans, I didn't bother calling in after the second miss. Ultimately, I understand other people's grievances against RR. I'm just a homeowner with a little trash that I want handled each week, and I was looking to save a few bucks each month. If you're looking to save a little money, are willing to put up with slightly less consistent service, and want to support a smaller local business, you can't go wrong with Royal Refuse.

I don't have an account with the company, plus my husband has cancer so we don't use any type of chemicals in the garden or in the house. We do have a Pest Control service, quarterly - they do take care only of the exterior perimeter of the house, and they do come to the front door to let us know they have arrived. Our mature flowering trees, bushes, and plants, have never been sprayed with any chemicals whatsoever - on purpose! I am beside myself! He just walked onto my property , even though it says private property do not enter - and without talking to me without making sure here is that the right address he just started spraying chemicals everywhere ! How is it possible? Don't these people have a map? Why are they not checking which address they are at?! What kind of people are you hiring...... who don't know how to use a Google map on their phone?! The dude in a hazmat-suit quoted a different address when I interrupted his spraying. It is down the street, not even on my street address, down the street -two blocks! What I do not understand is - if you've never been to the property you are about to service by spraying chemicals ... why not let the home owners know you are there ready to start?! For $50 I got a house call, an expert repair job, a new battery better than the original, and a friendly guy who impressed me with his knowledge and sociability as well as his enterprise, ambition and work ethic - and with 5 kids (I think he said) all that helps. He wore a mask, took off his shoes, sat at our dining room table and went to work. Maybe 20 minutes or so I had my phone back, and paid with a credit card. Couldn't have been easier. Our devices are really reliable these days, and I've been able to fix many of what few problems they've had (like I can throw a laptop from my recliner right thru the open window into the trash can with one arm!), but one thing I won't do is try to open an iphone, so I'm glad Elliott's available for those times when I throw my shoulder out.
