It simply wasn't the same animal from a venue standpoint but things are definitely looking up as they've revamped the experience for all potential visitors and regulars. Back when it was simply the Rich Forum, it was like a lot of tv studios I've seen in my time: dated, worn down, and somewhat of a facade from the outside world. Fast forward a quick 10+ years, they've updated the whole joint and made it comfortable with padded chairs, partitioned guest areas, a true lobby, and even updated the bathrooms. Then of course, there is the Maury Show itself. They have done an outstanding job catering to the studio audience by keeping things light hearted and entertaining. For private groups greater than 20, they'll even send a bus to pick everyone up. In our case, we were able to enjoy some pizza from Fairfield Pizza (https://www.yelp.com/biz/GsK0e9ynHbf1TnASKUPhsA), soda / water, and our own sectioned off space. If they have extra time, they'll even throw in a tour of the sets, which is definitely amazing. And the other kicker? The shows are complimentary and for many folks, this is a bucket list item that lends itself to one hell of an experience. I've never really looked forward to a trip to Stamford, but coming here is always a real treat.

"You're everything I hoped for You're everything I need"…read more(Billy Preston) Let's be honest, if you are going to see a taping of the Maury Povich show, what do you hope to see? Well, I definitely saw everything I hoped for! Think cheating spouses, lie detector test results, paternity disputes, STD bombshells, audiences whooping and hollering and whipped into a frenzy -- it was like a gift that kept on giving. When you enter the building, be prepared to go through a security gate and a metal detector -take every single thing out of your pockets. You'll sit in a big waiting room that reminded me of an airport gate, except instead of CNN playing on screens, we saw wild highlights of antics from prior shows, and we had a host who had a lot in common with a nightclub DJ inciting the screaming crowd to near riot conditions. You also need to know to use the bathroom because once you enter the studio - you can't leave -its like Hotel California. The pre-game festivities included audience members coming up onstage to dance before the cheering crowd, and a T shirt toss. A producer helped us practice the obligatory crowd noises -lusty booing, sympathetic "awwwwwws" and supportive cheering. It was so much fun. Finally, Maury came walking onto the stage, to wrap up his 21st year of the weirdest show on earth. Think about that- 21 years of these shenanigans! We saw three tapings of sad tales of marital infidelity, extra-curricular impregnations, outrageous lies, lie detector failures, STD revelations, and a whole slew of outrageous confessions and reveals. Ralph, the lie detector technician, was dressed in a suit and tie and sat in the third row center, and at the appropriate time delivered the lie detector results as though he was a Supreme Court judge. It was tremendous theater ! So I will look you straight in the eye and tell you I had a totally entertaining time watching this human train-wreck take place. #maury21

I grew up a few blocks from this event and had no idea this place existed. It was a little difficult to locate but once we did, it was excellent. We were welcomed inside the studio with a table food of libations and finger foods. A plethora of props and ample space to take some photos. I waited till the end to get some photos, which I regret, but nonetheless, I still had an awesome time. Some folks enjoyed the lights camera action more than others, but everyone was engaged and seemingly had a blast with the camera guys, who were extremely welcoming and helpful. Luckily the stage crew was entertaining, pulling audience members up to dance and telling jokes, so time passes quickly. When Karamo came out, his positive energy was felt by all. He's also a hugger which makes him that much more endearing. Every guest was shown respect and heard with compassion, then given advice or help as needed. I can't say enough good things about Gabriel's professionalism, talent, reasonability, personality, etc. My daughter & I were visiting family in NJ from the Gulf Coast. She's been obsessed with NYC for years and wanted to take her senior photos there. I scoured Yelp & Google reviews, sites, interacted with maybe 10 or so photographers. I'm so thankful we chose Gabriel. His prices are beyond reasonable, he has a unique talent of getting people to relax so that he can capture the perfect image for whatever purpose, he is prompt, communicative and makes the subject feel like they are all that matters. We had the joy of taking photos at the Met and in Times Square. Gabriel was patient with us and the end results are amazing. He returns first-looks and the final photos within 2-3 days -- unheard of with other professional photographers. He polishes the final photos, but doesn't go too far. He leaves the natural beauty to shine through. 5-stars all around!

Although I wanted outdoor photos, because it was windy, Gabriel got in as many outdoor shots as he could and then suggested we move indoors so I could really get the results I was looking for. After moving indoors, he made sure I had a full session with enough options to really make the session worth it for me. He's someone who truly cares about your experience. He was personable, accommodating, and genuinely a great person to hang out with for a couple hours. Because of his background in acting and his experience helping actors with their tapes, he knows how to help you relax and feel comfortable in your own skin in front of the camera. I need some new photos for another project I'm working on, and you bet I'm going back to Gabe for those!
